Lots of poor reviews
Lots of poor reviews, mainly historical, which made me hesitate about going ahead with underfloor insulation and new boiler. It also seemed strange that there was no paperwork offered stating exactly what work would be carried out, with details about insulation and boiler type etc. This I had to get in the form of an email, after a few phone calls with head-office.However the work was offered under the ECO scheme, provided I contributed towards thermostatic valves (and attendant pipework) and upgrading the boiler. Therefore a no-brainer to go ahead.(we could always arrange any subsequent remedial work out of the money saved by the grant) So date fixed, 1 day to do the work. The underfloor insulation team were all young and keen, but didn't actually know how to split a carpet join (glued tape underneath) so I did it. They were not able to rejoin the carpet, resulting in a seperate requirement later for a carpet fitter at my cost. They did however fix a weak, squeeky floorboard-an existing problem I had mentioned to them. The boiler fitter was completely competent and explained things clearly, and did a very neat job.Overall we were satisfied with the work carried out, but suggest you try and get something written down.(something a company should be happy to do as a a matter of course)
