They need to review their suppliers of plugs and screws.
Just fixed up two of their Franklin Brass Astra products - a hand towel circle and a towel rail. The actual products seem to work effectively but the towel rail spins inside the two ends joined to the wall. The problems identified on both products was the wall plugs and screws which were poor quality, and the instructions. I was fixing to tiles and masonry and found it much easier using a 6 mm drill bit - not the 3/16 recommended, and also used Fischer plugs and Hillman screws this time. The supplied screws were having difficulty going in a 6 mm plug so I hate to think how they would perform in a 4.7625 hole. So my issue is really why a manufacturer really needs to put very poor quality fixings in the product pack, when adding a few cents to wholesale price would make a big difference. Ikea supply really good fixings too, and have never had trouble with these.
