Tried to register with this company to pet sit. Keeps telling me that there is an error with my registration. Tried the contact number for this company, its invalid. Read these reviews and have decided not to bother.

I don't understand why there are so many bad reviews! Max and Kitty matched me to a great pet sitter that I wouldn't have found without this website. At the time I had a very nervous rescue dog that couldn't stay with a conventional dog sitter as she was too scared of other dogs. I also didn't want someone staying at my house while I was away. The Max and Kitty website has lots of different filters so that you can choose options to suit you - in my case Winnie needed to be the only dog and I wanted her to stay at the sitter's house - but you can choose differently if you want. Yes they do charge a fee, but how do people think this company can operate if they didn't? The company's not going to last very long if they make this a free service! Anyway, I had to bite the bullet the first time and pay the sitter plus Max and Kitty's fees, but then after this you have the sitters phone number/ contact details and for future sitting needs you can just contact the pet sitter directly and bipass Max and Kitty's fees. I think it was worth it! I found a great sitter for my tricky dog that I wouldn't have otherwise.
Scams pet owners out of money. Charges high 'booking fees' that aren't given to the pet sitters and instead keep to themselves. It is not made clear to pet owners that the sitters don't receive a penny and instead need paid on top of the money already paid to the site. Avoid at all costs!
PLEASE DO NOT JOIN THIS WEBSITE. This is extremely dangerous for all parties involved. They are a scam and should be taken down! If you are looking to help with dogs have a look at THE CINNAMON TRUST. This is the email i sent them. Please do not let anyone join. Your site has so much potential and I love the layout but I find it really difficult to actually want to accept any offers that I get. I am a young 21 year old girl who loves dogs and was very excited to join your website however I find it appalling how little security you have. There is no profile or information of the person/family who I would potentially be helping, just a profile of the dog. This is extremely dangerous, not just for young people but for anyone, including the family who’s house I could potentially be staying at. You are setting your company up for failure. Pet sitting/walking has grown in popularity over the last few years and it’s a way for people of all ages to fill time and earn a bit of extra money on the side, especially the younger generation. For people who aren’t as aware of the horrors of the world or don’t have as much support as I thankfully do or are desperate for money in these times will overlook these dangers and something terrible could happen. You should request forms of ID from every single person signing up to your website and you should also allow facetime or video chat beforehand so we can build somewhat of a relationship before going over to this persons house. Right before I put together this email I found no phone number online and I came across your reviews on TrustPilot. This gives me a bit of hope that others won’t be so fast to join your website. With my love for animals, I also have joined The Cinnamon Trust which requires a 3 page form to fill out with all your information, forms of ID and 3 referees who are contacted. The company works with older and terminally ill people but this is something you should implement into your process. ThanksPS- i sent this before i saw this trust pilot profile. Defnitely a scam! such a shame :(
I've been a pet sitter on this site for many years. I've done one visit sitting and one sitting at my home. The company has terrible customer service. Doesn't reply to anything. Not a fan of the way the process of booking is either. As people can select you and up until the actual day you'll not know if it's going ahead or not. Also the bookers don't know that they have to pay you separately. Which is akward in itself. Also the website is terrible. It keep deleting all my info on my profile.
Absoltely useless company, they just take the pet owners money. You have to pay a huge amount of deposit and booking fee that doesn't even cover the sitters fee. I'm a sitter there and I can't put my normal fees there because say it's above the average. No, it's not, but no one would book you in if you'd have the normal fees because this website takes a ridiculous amount of money for nothing. As a pet sitter I recommned pet owners not to use this website!!!
Very confused and dubious....have signed up as a pet sitter as I have years of experience both with my own and rescue dogs. Keep getting pet sitting requests, I accept and then never hear anything....had a reply to one message but it was completely unrelated to the questions I asked....feels dodgy to me, just trying to do a decent service to help people and earn a few quid. Think I'll have to stick to Borrow my Doggy
I would advise to not ever use the company - the dog sitter left my mother's dog so unwell she has had to pay a £1,000 vet bill and the person that looked after the dog stole personal items from the household. We have tried to contact them for a full refund but of course not one reply has been made. We will be in contact with trading standards soon but for all future costumers please NEVER use.
Do not use this company !If I could rate them as zero star or below I would !You cannot contact, visit, or even check the location of you chosen sitter until after you have paid them, and they refused to give a refund even though the sitters offered are completely unsuitable.New sitters only have to answer a few questions before they are listed, and their homes are never vetted. The company is based in France with no UK staff, and their UK address is a forwarding office only. They have no phone number listed either in U.K. nor France,PLEASE DO NOT USE.
I joined as a carer back in November last year. It has been impossible to complete my profile because uploading photos to the site is impossible. This business needs investigating by Trading Standards or better still, BBC Watchdog.
Seems to be a scam webpage, reported at the proper place. Customer service reply to a vital service not working for more than 4 months (uploading pictures - without them the account was never made public):'Le 2019-11-14 19:02, [my email address] a écrit :- Hello,- I've written you an email recently about a part of the interface not- working (uploading pictures, without which the profile doesn't get- public).- I'm getting the image of this being a scam company (due to no name,- phone number, or appropriate reaction from a support team).- Is there anything that could convince me this is not a scam?- [my name]HelloWe are sorry but we really have a problem with uploading photos and wetry to solve it but it should take longer to solve than expected. We come back to you ASAP.Kind regards,--The Max (and) Kitty'
Do not use, fraudulent company. The sitters don't exist. They simply take your money. Disgusting
I would have given them zero stars if there were the option. I have booked a sitter and paid the requested deposit. The day before the actual house-sit was due the appointed sitter called me and said that she was prepared to charge much more than was advertised (£100 per night, she said). I eventually asked her to cancel the booking, and I wasn't able to book anyone else, it being too late in the day, and the site booking system not working properly. I requested a refund, but to no avail - please avoid them.
I signed up to be a pet sitter and received an email to pay £24 for a premium membership for the year. When I went to update my profile their website didn't work, so now I have paid for a membership in which I cannot update my member details to get more bookings.I gave them a week to resolve and they couldn't even reply properly. When I requested a refund as their website didn't even work they then said as I didn't have payment insurance (!) no refund was due. There site doesn't even work and they haven't adhered to the terms and conditions that they are obligated to provide in order to sell this membership. A dishonest company who behaves fraudulently. I will be reporting them to the necessary trading standards.
FraudsThey will take your money and then send the contact details of a pet sitter. I am doubting whether these sitters are actually real or not, as had no response to any emails or phone calls. You can then request a refund on the site. This conveniently doesn't work.I am still waiting for my full refund.Foolish of me to part with my money before checking into their product properly but the website looks smart. Please don't make the same mistake as me
Don’t use this rip off service, total rubbish and should not be allowed to continue.
We have just used this service and I'm absolutely disgusted by the whole experience. The lady didn't seem to no we were coming despite me paying the fee, receiving the confirmation email and messages with the sitter confirming times. She was rude, dressed inappropriately and made comments that I found disturbing and unnecessary. Our profile page shows that we have no booking of any kind when yesterday and days before it had the booking details???Very concerning. I'll going to be making further enquiries into this company and contacting trading standards. DON'T USE THIS SERVICE IT'S AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE!
I've been a pet-sitter for a few months now and even though some bits of the website don't work (like uploading photos) I had a quick response from customer services and a few successful dog sits!As far as I know pet-owners must pay the website separately to get the sitters' details and then pay the sitters as well which seems like a fair way of doing it.
Total nightmare they haven’t stopped emailing me and there is literally no way to stop them. Hellish.
DO NOT USE _ FRAUDULENT This is definitely a fraudulent website. they will offer you sitters and ask for a deposit - after you have paid the sitters will withdraw. I am also contacting trading standards and the police.
