Transferred funds dissappeared - no response from MoneyGram
Initiated money transfer on 26 February 2026Status changed to "completed" on same day. Funds NOT received by recipient. Complained to Moneygram who insist that funds were successfully delivered. When I replied asking for proof of this I suddenly found that their system was no longer recognizing the transaction ID in the reciept from "THEIR OWN" website. hey are now refusing to even respond to messages and £1000 seems to have gone down a black hole

I have been using Moneygram for years. I have encountered a problem recently were funds not deposited in my receiving financial institution back home and Moneygram just told me to wait. In the beginning they were telling me not to worry and asked to file a dispute and wait 21 days for a resolution. 21 days had passed and the resolution was money was successfully delivered but I didn’t receive the funds. Then filed another case again and got the same resolution. They were reassuring me that they were investigating but refused to provide information. I doubt if they really did investigating. Supervisors and agents statements were different which left me confused and made me waste a lot of time calling to follow up about the case. Just frustrating they couldn’t help their loyal customer in times like this.

Moneygram closed my account without reason
I made an account and filled out all of my information. I tried to send money to myself for cash pickup in Kazakhstan. This required me to connect my bank account, provide my social security number (weird!), provide other personal information, take a photo of my passport, and take a selfie photo. I did all of that and tried to submit the transaction.I immediately received an email saying the transaction won't be processed. I tried to log into my Moneygram account, and it repeatedly said my password was wrong. I went to "forgot password" and my options were to send a code to a phone number I didn't recognize (!) and to my email. I tried to send the code to my email multiple times and it was never sent.I contacted support, and they told me my account was closed and cannot be re-opened. They said they did it for security reasons, and they refused to tell me more information. What?! I was sending money to myself. Whose security are they protecting? All of my documentation is obviously correct. Their system's automatic verification failed, and they don't do manual human reviews. So now they are perpetually refusing service to me. I can never use Moneygram online again.My best guess is that their system isn't up to date and they weren't able to verify the newer American passports, which have a black and white photo with a transparent seal overlayed instead of the color photo found in the old passport design.

I have been using money gram for a while now, using the app on my phone to send money to family's. Using my capital one bank debit card master card, now they have changed to DISCOVER, and money gram is saying that they don't accept DISCOVER. it use to be so convenient for me to send money to my family. But when I went to any money gram location I'm able to use the same capital one bank master card, without any problem 🙃 😅

After using moneygram for over 20 years, sending hard earned money to my family, I was suddenly treated like a terrorist, my account was frozen because I did not validate myself in time. I realized my account was blocked so I reached out to moneygram, I was told the services would be returned within 24 hours but one month later I've been pushed aside
