I volunteered here for about a month(which I was invited out) from the WWOOF website that is for organic farms. Working with horses was a plus, but I soon realized how the host was taking advantage of free volunteer work for her very profitable business through WWOOF and other programs. I found the host to be very rude, making snide remarks and having an air of superiority. My co-volunteer and I both noticed how the host seemed to overwork us and only gave us one day off after working intensely in 100 temperature from 8:00 AM until 5:30 or 6:00 PM, depending on how fast we worked. We went most days having no break in between, as the host would always fetch us for a new task right after another if seemed fit. The only time we could really rest for the day was after the ranch business was closed for the evening. We as volunteers did not get ANY hands on experience with organic farming which defeats the whole purpose of WWOOF. I wouldn't suggest this business unless you have no problem with slave labor/ get rich-quick schemes, making a profit off free labor and overworked volunteers.
