These people sent me a letter saying…

These people sent me a letter saying that I owe them money even though this is a company provided policy. I tried to call them on Saturday when I received the letter but they claim to be closed. HORRIBLE COMPNAY

The Minnesota Life SCAM!!!

We all need to understand the only reason this scam company has a 1.7 is that 0 stars does not exist, but I will try. So my parent paid 17 years on of mortgage insurance in. Why? Because they knew the family could not afford to pay it. And that it would be needed to give us all they had to give. So I called Minnesota Life aka Securian financial. Who then directed me to IAS. For over a month they pretended to not have the paperwork I sent. When I call multiple times to complain it magically appeared. Only be told its in review and will take 6 weeks. This is not mortgage insurance. My parents bought this so we wouldnt lose their house. Yet with every hour we creep closer and the scam operator of this business fill their pockets. They and everyone thats works for this company should be shamed.

SCAM!!

SCAM!!! Been paying for 2 1/2 years on a personal loan just in case of medical emergencies or in case of lost job. Lost my job in OCTOBER (it’s now February) and they still haven’t paid. Applied TWICE, tried to call daily (never got through to a live person and it would hang up on me), emailed a bunch of times and nothing. Went to my bank and they said there’s nothing they can do to help since it’s a “third party company”. We are now in collections! Called the bank again and they escalated it, emailed whomever their contact is and JUST got a phone call and email. After months! They’re “reviewing the application” so we will see if they’ll pay the back pay >:(

I wish I could give Zero!It's a scam company. They won't pay your claims for nonsense reasons like medication is covered by provincial insurance, while it is not!Be aware of this company at any cost!

I’ve been paying them for over 2 years…

I’ve been paying them for over 2 years on my car, I ended up unemployed and when I called them I was put under disability. No one ever called me, I had to keep calling for updates and when they told me that I had to go through my bank to start an unemployment claim. They told me multiple times they would call. They have not called me one time in the 3 months I had to deal with them they did not cover my vehicle payments during unemployment. Absolute waste of money and time. This company is the absolute worst and completely unreliable. Every person I talked to was rude and had an attitude with me. I gave up trying to get my car covered through them because they did absolutely nothing to help. Constantly ask for documents I never had or got.

I wish I could give zero

I wish I could give zero. We insured our mortgage with them and now that it has been 2 months afte my lay off, they haven't made the decision yet and ask for more documents and each time they give me a new date --> uplaod takes 1 to 2 business days to be accessible in the system,,, it takes our agent up to 5 days to confirm it,,, it takes time for the issuance,,, ... . I need to follow up once in a while to see how it goes. We chose Bank of Montreal, which had a higher rate at that time because of this mortgage insurance option. We are not sure if we want to continue the service.

ZERO STARS

ZERO STARS. Have been trying to surrender a policy for over 5 weeks. Have submitted multiple request forms and called customer service 7+ times. RUN AWAY. Not only is ULI a scam, this WHOLE COMPANY is a scammy scam scam scam. RUN.

Most disappointing and frustrating…

Most disappointing and frustrating Insurance company i have ever dealt with. Had direct deposit set up to pay the policy. The payments were comming out of my bank account but we were getting late fees and notices we wernt paying. The money is gone. Customer service hung up on me when I called to try and get help correcting the payment issue. We had to surrender the policy.

12 years paying into the insurance

12 years paying into the insurance Never claimed About 2.5 months ago submitted a claimStill no decision Therefore perhaps losing access to well earned and deserved BMO products. Thus far this insurance underwhelms greatly.....and I shall look for another one. SECURIAN - you disappoint enormously.

Deny and delay still alive in MN.

My father left me a policy and this company wants me, a disabled person to play some sort of weird game of Simon Sez. I have sent the same claim form in three times and they just wont give MY money back. I cannot recommend this company. You should not have to fight for your OWN money. They just pick someone to harass and go full ham. This has been going on for MONTHS. They just want to keep my money. They dont seem like someone you should trust. Hopefully others have had more positive interactions with this company. I have not.

They use to be a great company for our…

They use to be a great company for our 401k, then they sold us out to “The Standard”. What a shitshow this company is. Retirement money was paid twice per month and it was great till The Standard. Once a month payment and maybe youd receive your monthly payment or maybe they put it in a different bank. I dont know how they got my other bank account info but they did. I hadnt used that account in years. No way were they going to send me my money until they located the wrong account they put the money in. Thank goodness our local Securian guy was instrumental in locating the money and helped get me my money. He apologized numerous times for the issues caused by The Standard. After this happened to me I found out it was happening to more retirees. Securian was customer oriented but now only to line their pockets. The only thing good about this company was our local representative.

When a company only has bad reviews, there's a reason.

My wife has Securian life insurance. All of the payments are made automatically via ETF. The account is set to paperless. Nevertheless, Securian fraudulently charges a $2.00 paper statement fee every time. We emailed them and they refused to resolve the issue. I'm sure this cannot be legal.

Yesterday in the mail I got a notice…

Yesterday in the mail I got a notice that my Life Ins update was available on line. Today I went to the website and it says sorry you cannot access that information at this time. I have had this policy for over 25 years and they provide me no service and continue to increase admin costs to the point that my policy may be totally eroded by the time I die. Stay away from this company.

Incompetent processor

This company is horrible. So disappointing that my employer chose them to continue our life ins. They have no customer service, can't get thier processing correct and takes fighting with them to get anything done. Find any other company if you can.

I applied for supplemental life…

I applied for supplemental life insurance through my company and the underwriters had the audacity to deny it JUST because I have Type 1 diabetes. The manager was of absolutely no help and really could care less. I am going to file a civil complaint in court for discrimination. This company is a rip off and discriminatory against people with disabilities!!!! They are a SCAM!!!

This company is the worst

This company is the worst. Please don't waste your time or money. They don't process the claim in a timely manner, and they will do everything not to pay. I don't think anyone there knows what they're doing or what type of service that they provide. A 1-star rating is too much for them.

SCAM comapany

My husband and I have this company attached to all our loans, we have used them for YEARS. Now, when my husband is in an accident and off work for at least 4 months per the Dr.'s orders, this "insurance" company refuses to pay. What a waste of our money paying these crackpots for nothing.

SCAM!!! OPT OUT!!! SCAM!!!

TERRIBLE!!! I had a loan with Michigan First Credit Union and they added this foul company to my loan as insurance. Just like 70% of the work force I was put on unemployment due to both my job going out of business on March 13,2020 but also the Covid that started March 16,2020. As I kept making payments to the credit union I was told that my insurance was through “ALLIED”, who says I DO NOT have insurance with them. 3-years goes by with me making all of my payments on time and by shear dumb luck I was able to find out that in fact “Securian” who is owner by “ALLIED” has my insurance policy on the loan. First they only covered 1 payment then proceeded to take care of only 3 months of payments. I was told to start another claim but use the dates after what has already been submitted. Now I have some person telling me that they need proof that I was receiving the unemployment benefits which is fine but they are also asking for proof that I was working at least 24 hours per week. Sounds like they are trying NOT TO PAY, and get me to say I was working and getting unemployment. Bottom line is that I paid for coverage and this ripoff company does not want to pay out. I also blame these credit unions for adding this scam to loans and not vetting the company, my guess is that they are getting paid too. OPT OUT AND FIND YOUR OWN INSURANCE!!!

Catch 22 shows lack of customer service

After several years went to log on to the web portal of Securian. Found that I could NOT log on and there was no explicit reason. The web site refers you to the telephone contact where there is no person answering which in-turn refers you back to the web site. Bad customer experience and design. Resolved by chance by just randomly changing my password and using the same exact password as previously.As an IT systems person of 4 decades I can state that they have not sufficiently tested all scenarios and put the error burden on the user. Not an acceptable business practice.
