Good luck trying to cancel this service. Absolutely horrid company and horrid customer service. Do not recommend at all.
I wanted to send a late Christmas present, but I no longer drive, so I signed up with Stamps.com, thinking I could use their service to ship packages from home. They advertised reduced costs. I should have done more research!I never sent one package through them. While I was trying to, though, they withdrew their first monthly fee of $20.99 from my bank. I packed up my box, weighed it and measured it. I then went to get a label for it. First I discovered that I needed an account balance to buy a label. I put in some money and then found that in order to use a service that has scheduled pick up service, my package would cost $56 to ship! 😱That seemed like a lot. (I later figured out that $38 was added to the shipping amount because of the size of box I used.)Problem: They place a limit of $50 on the account balance for new users. (?)I had to call to get the limit removed. I then put more funds into my account to total $70.After purchasing a label, I was not able to schedule pick up service, even though I specifically checked for that service when picking an option. That was the whole point of my signing up in the first place.I went through this for a week. I finally gave up. I called the company to cancel my account and request a refund of my money. It has been aggravation and frustration in trying to get back my money ever since. Aggravation and frustration are the only things I have received from this company! I did get the monthly fee back, but after 4 withdrawals, and 3 deposits for the monthly fee refund and two $1 set up transfers, they are saying that they can't deposit my refund for the account balance in my account and need to put in a request with their accounts department for a refund check to be sent to me like it's 1980! I went and signed up with USPS for free. I split up the package into two of their priority mail boxes, and shipped the items for $31, with pick up service! I didn't need to put money into an account balance, or go through any hassles, and they now send me an email every morning telling me what mail is arriving that day.
Normally I give a 5 star review but recently Stamps.com keeps sending me on a daily basis the exact same email regarding the refund that I already received . Please stop sending me the same message multiple times. Its over kill messaging for the same refund. And blowing up my phone.
Never made me aware of the subscription charge and took $20.99 out of my bank account.
I signed up for Stamps.com because I wanted a simple, occasional option for small shipments that did not justify Priority Mail. I already use Pirate Ship, but thought Stamps might make sense for certain USPS services. I added postage funds assuming it would work as an on demand account. That seemed reasonable since I prepaid. What I did not realize is that they also put me on a monthly subscription. I never agreed to anything I understood to be a recurring charge, and I certainly did not need whatever “benefits” the subscription supposedly provides. I never printed a label. I never used the service.Months later I noticed recurring charges on my credit card statement. Canceling was not straightforward. I asked a basic question. What exactly was I paying for? Instead of answering it, support kept opening and closing tickets without resolving anything. When I requested a refund for the unused monthly fees, those tickets were closed as well.In the end I closed the account. They kept the postage balance I had deposited and told me it was non refundable. There may be use cases where this model works for someone. It did not for me. I will stick with Pirate Ship. No subscription fees, just discounted USPS and UPS rates and far less hassle.Update (responding to Stamps.com reply - Feb 2026):Thank you for your reply, Paul. I appreciate that the $8.10 postage balance was eventually refunded after I had to chase it, though it certainly wasn’t automatic or obvious at the time of closure. That said, the deeper problem remains. Your company still lacks any real transparency. You surreptitiously enroll new users into a monthly subscription fee that provides zero value for occasional, light users like me. There are no monthly billing emails that clearly state “Your card is being charged $X today for the Stamps.com subscription.” Not one. If you genuinely believed in the value of your service, you would send those reminders proudly every month. Instead, the model appears designed to fly under the radar, hoping customers won’t notice the recurring charges.I’m sharing this review and update for the benefit of other potential customers, not as a personal note to you or Stamps.com. For anyone reading this: please read every line of the fine print, set calendar reminders to check your statements, and strongly consider skipping Stamps.com altogether.I’ll stick with Pirate Ship: no sneaky subscriptions, no hidden fees, just straightforward discounted rates and far better transparency.
Like many others this company charged our credit card without authorization. They refuse to send a refund and so now we will have to refute the charge with our credit card company. They act like they’re not aware of what’s going on but clearly it’s intentional and part of their business model. A class action lawsuit is likely coming.
This company is involved in scamming and trying to steal people money. They have been trying to steal my money by charging my card for the last two years and I have NEVER used their service. I called customer service and explained that I had been for asking for over two years to cancel whatever account they have for me. This weirdo blocked my number and literally just attempted to charge my card again about ten minutes ago. If I find out who the owner of this company is he’s definitely getting sued!
We signed up as a fire department to mail our sponsorship letters. We were not able to print anything for numerous days. We followed all of their troubleshooting steps, called tech support which said "We are currently experiencing issues with some customers printing stamps" for several days, finally we made it through to customer support. We spent over an hour troubleshooting the issue. They blamed it on anti-virus software on a single computed although we tried it on three of our department computers that just ran standard Microsoft antivirus and it would not work. Anytime we tried printing envelopes it would just spin. The tech support team came to the determination that you should only print up to five different addresses at a time. Clearly if you are looking for a time-saving platform, this is not it.
Had no idea I had created an account until unwanted stuff showed up at my house and now have a credit card charge. Of course, company makes it difficult to figure out how to cancel. Awful experience!!
Stamps.com charges more than you can ship the package by going to ups or FedEx. Plus they charge a monthly fee. I do not recommend using this service.
you scammed 3 months ago i went on this app only for a cost of shipping , then i checked bank yesterday Lou made me subscribe for 3 months 20.99 fir 3 months without consent f ing refund me how u think this is okay bro im literally disabled
They make it hard as hell to cancel. It's pretty much impossible from the app. It's just circular "are you sure you want to cancel" over and over again. If you're selling on eBay it's the same rates for free from them. It's a damn scam
They offered a 'free scale' which never came in, they don't seem to disclose the price you'll pay for stamps until you actually print them, so I don't know if it's even a deal or not. Most importantly they signed my company up for a $21/month program that I never used nor saw we signed up for. It's 2026, I've seen adult content websites that are less sleazy than how Stamps.com treated us.
They charge you after canceling your account and when you try to make a refund request they ask you go login. But, you can't login because they require you to close your account to get a refund. It's a cycle and seems to be a vicious recurring cycle they perform (lots of users on reddit had similar experience)
Stamps.com is heads above Pitney Bowes.
They are awful, and honestly if I could give them a zero star I would. I rely on my shipping to continue my business, it's a part of entire business model. This past summer I had horrible issues with glitches in their platform, I spent hours on the phone with customer service. I was able to talk to someone in customer service, but being honest, know one wanted to actually help me. So I cut off the relationship, and swear I closed the account. So randomly in October of 2025 they just started billing me again, which should be illegal. I am now working on my year end stuff and realized they never closed the account, but didn't charge me between July and October, but in October decided to start charging me again. Honestly, your platform sucks, your people suck, and I'm surprised you get any good reviews. I would highly recommend a different carrier if your business relies on sending packages.
Never seem to have any issues with the website for printing stamps or other services needed.
This appears to be a SCAM COMPANY. I clicked on a trial a while back and then was automatically charged $22.67 as I just found out today on my credit card! And they've done it twice already! My user ID is yarkadin78. I need a FULL REFUND as I never used stamps.com for anything. I sent a message online but got back an AI response and an automated message about my account persisting until the beginning of March even after canceled! It is February 7th as I write! This means that I will be charged a THIRD TIME. The website is buggy with empty popups and shows a cancellation date of "1969"! What the hell? I need this account closed ASAP! I already have two request IDs open: #9291243 and #9291221.
Everything about the website is fantastic. Easy to set up and very user friendly. Purchasing stamps is efficient and the billing simple
It ‘s been good so far.
