This Gym Needs to Restore Its Reputation by Replacing Customer Service and Corporate Management

In my experience, this company has very poor customer service and management. They should consider replacing their entire corporate team and customer service staff. Additionally, the kids’ manager, Bella, my child was not treated fairly by her.

Never give The Edge Fitness your credit card!

We joined The Edge Fitness in Shelton, CT on May 28th and signed up for 8 training sessions. We canceled any further lessons 3 weeks later but the manager, Tyler, held our cancellation for two additional billing cycles and post-dated it! We have paid for 12 sessions that we don't want and didn't use. They refuse to credit our card OR EVEN SPEAK TO US! We made a complaint the CT Department of Consumer Protection and will then sue them in Small Claims Court.

Choose any other gym!

I signed up for a membership at Edge Fitness (Stratford, CT) in April 2025. At the time of signup, I was not told it was a fixed 12-month contract — I was led to believe I could cancel at any time. When I attempted to cancel a few months later, I was denied and told I could only cancel for medical or relocation reasons. This was never disclosed to me during signup, nor was I shown the full contract in advance. When I raised this issue, I was met with boilerplate responses and no resolution.I’ve now had to file a formal complaint with the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection and dispute the charges with my bank. This experience has been incredibly frustrating and deceptive.Be warned: ask for the full contract in writing before signing and know that cancellation is extremely difficult — even if the terms weren’t clearly presented to you.
