Although Holiday Inn Express in Goldsboro, NC is rated as a 3-star hotel, the hospitality and service I received were nothing short of five stars and beyond. From the moment I walked through the door, the team rolled out the proverbial red carpet and treated me with warmth, care, and genuine kindness throughout my stay.I was greeted by Destiny at the front desk, who went above and beyond to find a room that met my preferences — quiet, high floor, and corner location. She was able to place me in a quiet corner double room on a high floor, which was perfect. When I later discovered one of the beds was broken, Destiny immediately apologized and offered to move me to another room. Since the other bed was fine and I preferred the quiet location, I chose to stay put. I appreciated how seriously she took the concern, taking photos and documenting the issue for repair — even though it was the end of her shift. Her attention to detail and caring attitude were truly refreshing.The next morning, I missed breakfast due to my laptop still being on a different time zone. Miriam, the breakfast hostess, went out of her way to prepare hot food for me even after breakfast hours had ended. Her kindness meant so much — especially since my trip was for a funeral, and I hadn’t eaten much the day before. She not only fed me physically but also fed my soul with her compassion and grace.Later that morning, I spoke with Amber at the front desk to mention the bed issue, and she immediately offered to make it right by compensating reward points. Her professionalism and genuine desire to ensure my satisfaction stood out.I also want to acknowledge Ms. Casheila from Housekeeping, who had stopped by earlier to check if I’d received service. She and another young lady (whose name I unfortunately missed) were both kind and respectful when I declined housekeeping so I could receive points instead — something Destiny had explained so clearly upon check-in. For reference, I was in room 428 on October 6th, in hopes management can identify and commend the team members on duty that day.To management: please recognize Destiny, Miriam, Amber, Ms. Casheila, and the entire team for their exceptional service. They each displayed the kind of genuine hospitality that money can’t buy — the kind that makes guests feel truly cared for.Thank you all for turning a trip of sorrow into one of peace and comfort.You are a model team, and your level of service should be celebrated and emulated everywhere.You all deserve a raise — good help like this is hard to find!With gratitude,A Very Grateful Guest
