I have been with United healthcare for…
I have been with United healthcare for roughly 10 years. I thought that the insurance was great but I am slowly beginning to realize that I was wrong!! I'm a diabetic and I am severely disabled. I not only have lost my dental coverage but I found out 2 days ago that the insulin I depend on has been taken off the coverage list and now I am left scrambling to find out what I can get until the end of this month!! Goodbye UHC I can't say that I will miss you and your phone centers who have people that no one can understand!!!!

United health has gone down the tubes
United health has gone down the tubes. What at one time I thought was one of the best health providers has screwed up everything. Nobody knows what they're doing. Forget about using the OTC card, it never works. Can't get anything from Healthy Benefits, always out of stock. Seriously considering changing to something else. UNITED HEALTH IS USELESS!

I am not sure how this company is still in business. They have the worst customer care based In India and the Philippines. This is a company that is supposed to help sick people and in the meantime the stress they cause people makes them more ill- stay away

Worst insurance company of all time…
Worst insurance company of all time and one of the most unethical bad actors in corporate history. You should check out some of the recent Congressional hearings where multiple congressmen and women rip apart their CEO.

CareFlex card was not sent to me
My Medicare plan has CareFlex card benefit but no one at UHC give me the answer when it was sent to me. My plan has effective since 2/1/26, I have been waiting for this car to pay doctors visits, and still get no answer when it was mailed. ONLY Ucard mentioned. I got 3 Ucards already.

Worst Year for UHC
Worst Year for UHC So UHC offers CareCash card, it's a pain to use, gets declined a lot. But I call UHC Customer support on 2/19 in the evening to get a new one as original one got lost. Spend 2 hours, and person has no idea how to get a new one to me at all. Call back next morning, and get a different rep who says a new one will be sent 7-10 business days. Now at 14 business days so I call directly to Optum Bank who tells me they see in notes card was reported lost, but there was no request to send a new one. Now I wait another 7-10 business days. On top of this, UHC can't come to terms with Johns Hopkins this year and suddenly the doctors I am seeing and my local hospital are all no longer in network. How messed up,

Why is it so hard to access your insurance info?
This is the same problem with every insurance company and it almost seems deliberate. Since they stopped issuing insurance cards, the process for accessing your information to use insurance has become an absolute mess. I have had continuous vision insurance since 2019, but they updated the login system online (they also don't send any info about the website or how to log in). I created a new HSID, but the website prompts me to send a code to my phone, then doesn't send the code, so I can't log in. I call, the automated system is awful, can't understand anything. I ask to speak to a human. Human answers, can't help, transfers me (I ask her to stay on the line so I don't end up on an endless hold). I end up on an endless hold. An hour wasted and can even access my insurance information. It is hard not to conclude that insurance companies are either incompetent or evil for designing just a frustrating, non-functioning system.

Appallingly bad technical support
Appallingly bad technical support. UHC has American support staff for healthcare paperwork, who I found to be quite kind and helpful on my quest to get my web login working. But they have contracted the most exceptionally stupid Philippino help desk on the planet. I got stuck "conversing" with at least five of them during the past week. The first one today was clueless, so I asked for a supervisor. She hung up. The next male told me that he would connect me with an expert in my problem; he dumped me back into the claims queue. A very helpful American stuck with me during my next encounter with the PI; she was able to reset a password, but dumped me when I told her it did not solve the problem. I switched browsers and was ultimately able to log in, but I have had a few short strings of login success last week, followed by failure. UHC really needs an escalation path back to skilled American support. Their incompetence at technical customer support has pushed me into lobbying my company to kick UHC out and provide me and my 40,000 coworkers with something better than this crap.

Their OTC benefits application is half way programmed, it is nothing more than extreme aggregation. GET YOURSELF REAL PROGRAMMERS TO DO THE JOB!!!!!

Everything has been bad
Everything about my experience has been bad.I was assigned a primary care provider (PCP) who was outside of my network, then was not able to change my PCP without calling in for help. Once it was changed, I was informed that the doctor selected actually no long works at the clinic. I then tried again to find a care provider, only to be told that my insurance is not accepted, even though the website says it is. The system is set up to make it nearly impossible to find a doctor without putting in HOURS of effort.

I had been paying my insurance and when…
I had been paying my insurance and when I finally receive my card I call and made an appointment. But when I asked her to give me the address the receptionist did not want to give me. She said she was going to call me and never did. I cancel. I don't recommend this insurance to NOBODY.

AVOID UNITED HEALTCARE AARP Medicare RX
I wish I could give this company a minus 10.My experience with UnitedHealthcare’s AARP Medicare plan through AARP was nothing but frustration. All year long, I had to argue over what was covered. After canceling the plan in November, they continued withdrawing money from my checking account despite multiple phone calls — and refused to refund it.Healthcare should provide peace of mind, not constant battles and unauthorized withdrawals. I will never enroll in a plan recommended by AARP again. Do your best to avoid this plan.

Find yourself a REAL insurance company and avoid United Healthcare at all costs!!!
I am currently enrolled in United Healthcare. If you are looking for a reliable, helpful, friendly and dependable company, PLEASE keep looking because this is most definitely not it. How is it possible that every single interaction with a company is ALWAYS unpleasant, unhelpful and a complete waste of hours??? Just plain TERRIBLE!!! PERIOD!!!

WORST customer service EVER
WORST customer service EVER! They never know what to do, keep transferring over and over, do not have any type of knowledge about processes, if you are outsourcing people, TRAIN THEM, INVEST IN TRAINING, such a nightmare to get something authorized or appealed.

I dislike their app
I dislike their app, it has issues and is not worth using so you can't use the benifits/ rewards card without it as you need to scan the things you purchase and check balance. I have 90 plus apps and have never had issues like this. Their customer service cannot help and won't connect you to their tech Dept to fix the issues. My friends can't use the app either , I got a new phone and still the app does not work. Also they have care coordinators but they don't return calls. I've tried to call her (like she said I should if I need to) a couple of times, left messages , it's been a month and no response. these advantage plans are going down hill quickly. they used to pretty good. it's not really worth it Customer service isn't very good, most don't know much .

Just awful
Just awful. All they do is deny claims and deny appeals. They dont give a damn about their members healthcare needs or their supposed mission.
