I wish I would have read these reviews…

I wish I would have read these reviews first. I signed up for yoga insurance with the teachers plus 3 weeks ago. I never received an email with my insurance info so I can prove I have insurance...which I need to do. Called a million times, emailed, even reached out to the insurance company directly and Yoga Journal..and nothing! I was beginning to think I was scammed...and still do. I am calling my bank to put in a claim of fraud and going with a diff company. Disappointed!

Think Twice About Subscribing

Three Christmases ago, I signed up for a one-year subscription to Yoga Journal and paid for it with my credit card. Yesterday, I saw that my credit card had been debited for yet another year. This is particularly galling as not only did I not authorize the renewal, but I have yet to receive a single copy of the magazine. In the first year I spent hours on the phone with Yoga Journal, tracked down credit card receipts in order to prove to them prove that I had in fact paid for the subscription and nothing ever happened. Nor refund. No magazines. Unauthorized renewed subscriptions and continued billing. Yesterday, acting 0n the advice of my credit card advisor, I was forced to cancel my credit card in order to remedy the situation. 'Caveat emptor' Buyer beware.

Website needs work

Website needs to be more integrated. I bought liability insurance and I am unable to find it in my dashboard. The history and purchase tabs showed the insurance from 2017 but not the recent one.

I love Yoga Journal

I love Yoga Journal. Every time I look through the pages I find another pose to teach, a sequence to learn, an icon to follow. Thank you for your thorough and thoughtful coverage of everything yoga.

Underwhelming

I enjoy the magazine but was very underwhelmed with the Teachers Plus. It seems like it needs to be built out a lot more.

Avoid, avoid, avoid!

Update 3/1/2019: Apparently IDEA Health & Fitness and Lockton Affinity are one and the same, but none of that is clearly spelled out on the Teachers Plus website. A voicemail I left at 800-646-1139 was returned by an IDEA Health & Fitness employee. He was not aware the teachersplus[@]yogajournal.com email was not functioning. He was supposed to send me an email three days ago to confirm my cancellation and never has, but I got contact information for another IDEA Health & Fitness employee from a fellow yoga teacher and will be trying again today to get this cancelled. I stand by my 1 star review, this has all been an annoying mess that has been hard to resolve. In the meantime, I went with another insurance provider this year that clearly stated all included costs and promptly handled my requests. That is how business should go. This Teachers Plus stuff is utter crap._____________________________________ Last year I bought a Teachers Plus membership with part-time insurance and the whole process went just fine. This year I went in to try to renew and once you pay what appears to be the cost for the combo of the Teachers Plus membership and insurance ($54.99), the confirmation website gives you a button to click that takes you to a website that has no clear association with Yoga Journal or Teachers Plus. Yes this is a site that sells insurance, but it doesn't even take you to an insurance application. This may be the new Teachers Plus insurance provider, I can't say for certain, but another part of the Teachers Plus site that says renew your insurance and Teachers Plus policy takes you to a different website altogether, including an insurance application page with the Lockton Affinity logo at the bottom. I tried to get ahold of Teachers Plus for help and nobody is answering their phone number (800-646-1139) - okay fine, maybe they aren't open on the weekends... But the fact that then I tried to email them at teachersplus[@]yogajournal.com and got an email back that my message was undeliverable makes me wonder what is really going on here. I called customer support at Yoga Journal (800-600-9642) and was told that number was just for the magazine, and the only contact info they had for Teachers Plus was the phone number that nobody is answering and the email that is not valid... So you can judge what's up with that. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!! I'm going to dispute the charge with my credit card company once it is no longer pending, until then my credit card is frozen and I went somewhere else for my 2019 insurance.

The teacher tools they advertise are…

The teacher tools they advertise are not useful, and there aren't enough of them to justify the cost. I feel like I got scammed signing up for this.

a bit disappointing

for the price i didn’t find the content very helpful. when i signed up in Nov 2017, i was told there would be lots of teaching material, including sequences to access. upon paying for my membership, i only found one sequence available. i appreciated the discount on teaching insurance, but unless i was missing something big i didn’t find a lot of value in the membership. i did not renew this year.

New to YogaPlus

I haven’t used yet. My experience with yoga plus so far has been very good that’s why I’m giving it 3 stars

Aside from the insurance, the rest isn't worth it.

Aside from the insurance, the rest really isn't worth it. a sub-$20 subscription to the magazine, great. But the pose library and sequence builder is subpar in comparison to other online and application references and builders. I was really disappointed once I logged in and saw how much it lacked, and all the more because I ended up paying additional money for another service to help me with this need.

Not so happy

I have been having this insurance for…

I have been having this insurance for years and have not had any problems with signups. But I have not had a reason to test how it would work if I had a problem, thank you 🙏🏻. I do think it’s great for independent yoga teachers to have a way to carry insurance which doesn’t cost a fortune.
