THIS IS A SCAM BUSINESS DO NOT DO…

THIS IS A SCAM BUSINESS DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!! I WILL BE REPORTING THIS BUSINESS TO THE COLORADO SECRETARY OF STATE!!I would give this business zero stars if I could. My water heater went out, worn through and leaking. Filed online. contractor came out, gave it a look, and left (5 minutes). Service request showed there would be "uncovered expenses". I authorized expenses. Never heard from contractor again. Called 2-10 customer support - nothing they could do. Called Warranty Claims line - hangs up on you saying they are "experiencing high call volumes" regardless the time of day. After over a week living in a home with no hot water and sick family members, I called another contractor and had my Water Heater replaced the same day!

2-10 Home Warranty Will Not Help You

We have been paying for this warranty monthly for approximately five years, and during that time 2‑10 has sent contractors out once or twice a year to add refrigerant “Freon” to a system that is clearly failing (as we've been told multiple times by their the technicians who add the freon. Despite these repeated visits, the underlying issue has never been repaired. This winter, our HVAC system failed completely — during the coldest temperatures of the year, with outdoor temperatures dropping into the 20s. As of today, 2‑10 has still not sent a technician to even inspect the system, let alone repair it. This delay has left our family of four, including our two daughters, without heat for over a week in dangerously cold conditions. Our experience aligns with numerous public complaints about 2‑10 Home Buyers Warranty, including hundreds of BBB complaints in the past three years, many citing delays, denied claims, and difficulty reaching customer service. We've experienced all of that are more. It is impossible to get anyone on the phone, sometimes waiting over an hour only to be hung up on. We highly recommend you AVOID this company and their parent organization FrontDoor.com / FrontDoorHome.com They will do everything they possible can to avoid covering any systems, appliances, or other covered items in your home.

Horrible service and terrible warranty

Horrible service and terrible warranty. Been given the run around for days. I’m on day 5 with no heat. No return calls, refusal to let me speak with a supervisor. The contractor they sent was incompetent and when I out in a complaint and asked not to have him return they sent him again and he basically said he “didn’t know what to say”. Needless to say we are without heat still. As a real estate Broker as well I will do my best to tell everyone agent I know to never ever use or recommend this company. Complete scam

The absolute worse home warranty…

The absolute worse home warranty company you can work with! Avoid at all costs. They are simply a call center that takes no accountability for extreme delays, bad repairs, contractors not showing up, incorrect charging, and everything in between. You will only lose time and money working with this company.

Extremely long hold times

Extremely long hold times. Every agent just passes you around until you hit a message that says they can’t take your call because they’re too busy. If they do call you back they can never resolve your issue or the call “drops” and you’re back to square one. The biggest headache.

I have worked in the home services…

I have worked in the home services industry, I have worked with various home warranty companies. I have never never never been on hold longer than 20/30 minutes. I am currently 2:17:58 hours on hold YET to speak with someone after getting hung up on when we were “transferred” (after being on hold for 48 minutes). Never had an issues with them until this past year. Absolutely ridiculous.

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY THEY ARE AWFUL

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY.I cannot stress this enough. We have had them for 4 years and this is the first claim we have submitted and they have been an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE to work with. They tell the contractor they'll get back to them in 3-5 days even if it's something like having no hot water. If you call into the sales line they will answer right away, but if you call customer service or the claims department you will wait on hold for over an hour and then be given some bullshit excuse. When I finally got a hold of someone, I brought in the contractor from the other line (because the rep conveniently couldn't get ahold of them, but when I tried the contractor he immediately answered). When I merged the call the rep conveniently said he couldn't hear me and then hung up (he could hear me because the other guy could hear me). They also wanted to pay the contractor only $335 dollars for a full water heater replacement which anyone with a brain knows it costs more than that. When I talked to a customer service rep she said I could escalate the claim through the portal, but guess what? No you can't. Absolute scam of a service. Never use them.

Coverage as good as health insurance. Terrible Customer Service. Long waits for repair of critical items. Poor reimbursement. Bad contractors

2 situations to share:Water heater: Water heater went out in 20 degree weather. Made claim quickly online. Contractor not available for a week. I called to get pre-authorization for my own plumber. Waited nearly 1.5 hours to talk to someone (no call back option available). Easily received pre-auth and plumber fixed that day. Water heater, piping, expansion tank cost was just over $1000, not including labor. I was reimbursed just shy of $1000. I called for clarification. This time call back option was available and I received a call nearly an hour later. I was told if I had stayed in network, they would be able to replace, parts and labor, for that amount. I don't think I buy that. Apparently they don't realize it's 2026 and things are expensive or they buy junk replacements and use unskilled providers. I was reimbursed at 55% of total cost. I'm glad I didn't pay for this coverage.HVAC: Was blowing 75% humidity air. Claim was approved quickly online. However, contractor was unknowledgeable and told me this was "normal". He claimed my units were clean and this was "just how it is". I called my own contractor. Units were filthy. Mold was growing in one. Diagnosis was oversized units that didn't run long enough to condition the air. Obviously, this isn't covered under my warranty, but their contractor wasn't skilled enough to diagnose the problem so I spent money on a useless service call.

Unresponsive, frustrating company

I have called several times and emailed but still cannot get anyone to come out to look at/fix/replace the two faulty bathroom fans. Their email warrantyadministration has not responded at all though their person on the phone told me to email them.

Maybe not worth it

I've had 2-10 all year since getting my first house in February. Honestly, I don't see the point, and I'm second-guessing renewing for another year. The first claim I filed with them, I called and asked for instructions. Did exactly what I was told to do and then was later told I did it wrong, and almost didn't get even a small reimbursement until I fought for it. That's now how this is supposed to work. Later, I had to pay $100 to have a guy come out and tell me my HVAC ducts need to be cleaned and that his company doesn't do that (and the warranty doesn't cover it). Meanwhile other companies will give you a quote for cleaning ducts for FREE. I had a plumbing issue earlier this year where they connected me with a company that mistreated and spammed me just in the scheduling process, that had pretty horrific reviews (harassment, lying, etc.), except for a couple good ones that were visibly created by the company themselves. Luckily I was able to cancel and get my own service provider but since I didn't use theirs my refund was minimal and I had to fight for it. At best you pay several hundred dollars and maybe get a check for $100 a month later. At worst, you get creeps coming to your house to tell your home warranty not to pay for work they barely even did (or did not do), and making you pay it out of pocket. When I tried to renew my coverage, I signed up for "auto renew" thinking I would renew at the end of my current period. Instead I was renewed and charged immediately, and when I realized that autorenew was for the next service term, I followed the instructions in the email exactly to cancel auto renew. Instead, they canceled the entire service plan. That turned out ok though, because I ultimately called someone and they got me a new service plan for cheaper. But why did that happen in the first place??? Last weekend I had an emergency plumbing situation after hours. I called a plumber who came out that night and submitted a request for reimbursement the instant I got a receipt. Got a voicemail saying I had no prior authorization and therefore could not receive even a minimal reimbursement. The ticket was closed instantly, even though ones that are paid out and completed are still listed as "pending completion" on my account. Weird... I can't even escalate my claim for several days now to talk to someone about it. How am I supposed to get prior authorization when your offices are closed???? Am I just supposed to go the entire weekend with no plumbing????? There is no rational thinking in this business model. I only gave it more than one star because there have been times I called and spoke to really nice and helpful people. Everyone I actually speak to on the phone is really nice. It's just that if they're not there when you need them, that's your fault.

Avoid at all costs

REPAIRS: Here is the process. You will pay a repair company to come out and assess the issue. The repair company will contact 2-10 to tell them what it will take to fix the problem. If the repair is slightly pricey they will refuse to repair the problem and give you a meager amount to replace the unit. In my case it was the dishwasher. I started having problems with a dishwasher right after the warranty expired (typical). 2-10 determined that it was too expensive to repair and offered me $230 for a replacement. The original dishwasher cost $695 less than 18 months prior). 2-10 told me this was a like for like replacement. Absolute joke. In the end I was basically told take it or leave it. Now my washing machine is having issues, once again they have refused repair. I have been waiting 48 days for a resolution but can’t get an answer from them. I keep getting told it’s moved to another department, and of course I am unable to talk to the other department.CUSTOMER SERVICE: Firstly be prepared to wait on hold forever before talking to customer service. Secondly, if customer service can’t answer your questions you can’t automatically talk to a supervisor. Supposedly your information is forwarded and a supervisor should call you back within 4-24 hours. I have called 5 times requesting a supervisor, I am still waiting for a call back 408 hours later. Conclusion. I will never use this company again, and would highly suggest that everyone avoids this company.

Customer service

I have been trying to contact customer service about my account for 2 1/2 weeks. Each time I am either on hold for over 30 minutes with no answer or asked if I would like to use the call back option and do not get a call back. Customer service sucks and I will be looking for a new warranty company.

Great caring customer service...No…

Great caring customer service...No follow through and only fix your stuff 40% of the time. They deny, deny, and deny as much as possible. Please avoid for the sake of your own sanity. My apartment has been over 94 degrees for a week now and no one has responded after I've called 5 times. I've resorted to looking personal phone number up scrapping linked in to get a company response. Absolute insanity.

They take forever and reimbursement limited

Every interaction I’ve had with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty has been frustrating. The contractors they send are consistently the bottom of the barrel—repairs drag on for weeks or even months while waiting for parts, and nothing ever gets properly fixed. Their approach is to Band-Aid problems rather than resolve them. When I used my own contractor (after getting approval first), I discovered they have hidden limits on labor reimbursement. Even when they say they’ll pay you back, it’s only a small amount—minus your service fee, which you already paid out of pocket.Trying to reach the claims management department was a nightmare. It took seven business days to finally speak to someone. Callback requests would come 5–6 hours later—often at night—because they’re on the West Coast and I’m on the East.Overall, this company makes an already stressful situation worse. Poor communication, poor service, and zero accountability. Save yourself the headache and choose another home warranty provider that actually values its customers.

I have had 2-10 Home Warrenty since we…

I have had 2-10 Home Warrenty since we purchased our home in 2010. I have the Supreme Service. I have use them for multiple appliance and HVAC issues. I have had great service even when a contractor that didn't perform a expected. They replaced the contractor and my issue was resolved satisfactorily and within a satisfactory time frame. I recommend them as a good home warranty company.

Don't use this company if you value your life and safety

My AC has been out since July 31st, 2025 (26 days and counting). The unit is a 1998 Goodman system with a blown compressor, refrigerant leak, and obsolete R-22 refrigerant. Both technicians sent by 2-10 confirmed that the system is NOT repairable (according to standard practices in the HVAC industry) and needs full replacement. I have Supreme Coverage with the Luxury add-on, which removes the $3,000 cap and covers replacement up to $25,000.Despite that, 2-10 has stalled, sent multiple techs to fish for cheaper bids, and even altered my online contract mid-claim to try to reinsert the $3,000 cap after I escalated. I have called 14 times, emailed 5 times, and even sent a letters to their executive team, all of which have been completely ignored.Meanwhile, my home reached 88°F inside during a heatwave. My husband and I both suffered heatstroke, and I was forced to spend $1,265 out-of-pocket just to survive (portable AC units + non-covered costs). I had to essentially sign a blank check promising that I would handle all "non-covered" costs in order to proceed with help, and four separate folks in the claims department (Oliver, Karen, Valerie and Andy) have assured me that I am eligible for a replacement unit, and despite the fact that this is nearly the same price that my current service technician quoted as it would be to repair the compressor, replace the broken lines that leak, and reinstall the discontinued R-22 refrigerant, 2-10 has willfully ignored all the facts and continues to give me the run around. This is bad faith insurance at its worst: delay, contract manipulation, and total disregard for customer safety.Kelli G DID reply publicly to me, inviting me to send a private facebook message (which I did 7 hours ago, and they used that to block me from being able to see comments / post)

I've been trying to get HVAC service for my home for over a month…

I've been trying to get service for my HVAC unit since before the middle of July.. they have yet to supply a reliable contractor.. the first one was a no call/no show at least twice.. the customer service I have recieved horrible except this one lady I talked to.. I've been hung up on several times by several several different agents.. then when you ask to used a local contractor they only allow you a $300 reimbursement unless it is an approved service.. which is code for we're not paying for it cost too much.. the second, contractor never contacted me at all.. no call or text.. no appointments in the portal..NOTHING‼️‼️‼️.. then when I contacted 2-10 again..all they told me was that my case had been assigned to dispatch and it would take 1-3 business days for them to get back to me and to check my email.. if they haven't haven't reached out to me by then.. give them a call back.. why do i have to keep contacting you for a service I've already paid for.. what happening to doing your job and following up to make sure the service is completed.. also I called about having service electronic service for my appliances.. they said that each appliance would have to be a different service call which would be $100 each..I definitely will NOT be recommending 2-10 Warranty company to anyone that I know

Bad coverage, horrible service

We paid them about $800. Freeze and dryer had issues. They denied the dryer problem because the part they say is malworking is not covered, and that is inconsistent with what the technician said. They can't get it to me in writing. The technician himself has 1.2 stars on yelp...The freezer coverage, turns out, is limited at $400 minutes the $75 I paid and the $160 they supposedly pay the technician. So I get almost nothing. Also really bad customer service with repeated 7-10 minutes hold.Everything about this company screams go somewhere else.

2 months with a broken dishwasher and still waiting

We have had (and are continuing to have) an awful experience with 2-10. Our dishwasher broke two months ago and we are still waiting for them to order the part for the technician to replace it. They have sent four different dishwasher repair companies out, and these guys either wouldn’t show up or wouldn’t submit the report properly and we would be back at square one waiting for 2-10 to send someone else out.Every time we call their customer service they either tell us a lie (like the technician is coming today to fix it), or hang up on us.We have two kids under two and going on two months with no dishwasher. This company is an absolute scam and I would not recommend using them for your home warranty.

If there was less than a 1 star

If there was less than a 1 star, then I would give it! I called for a plumber for a simple toilet plunge task. They have NO PLUMBERS in my area. I had to find a plumber, make him write up an estimate, get it approved, then he could do the work. Plumbers do not like having to wait until their estimate is approved so it was a real hassle. I mean if I have to find my own plumber, then why do I have a home warranty?? Save yourself money and tons of aggravation and on top of that I could hardly understand the customer claims people. The woman had to spell out 50% of what she was talking about.
