Beware!
LOST ITEMS, AND THREATS OF ADDITIONAL CHARGES. We did not choose to do business with Aegis and would not have, but unfortunately our move was subcontracted out to them by the company we contracted with, which was Allegiance Van Lines. Read the other reviews for Aegis. Aegis never contacted us or returned calls unless they wanted more money. Frank, the owner of Aegis, contacted us and said that he had been paid nothing by Allegiance and that we needed to pay him directly that same day or he would take our furniture out of the truck and put it in storage and charge us an additional $1500 per day. Fortunately we were able to get the money to him in time to avoid the threatened storage fees. He contacted us again for the final payment, again demanding that it reach him that day. Due to the time zone difference (their company is based in Florida and we are in Arizona,) this was not sufficient notice to allow us to get to the bank before their cut off for wire transfers. Frank then demanded that we send him the same payment via Pay Pal so it would reach him immediately. We found a way to get him the additional $1650 via Pay Pal. Unfortunately, the bank transfer also went through the next business day, and he accepted the duplicate payment. We have yet to be able to speak to Frank regarding a refund of the second transfer. We have been contacting Allegiance customer service for assistance with this, but they have been no help. Apparently they neither have control over nor take any responsibility for any customer interactions with Aegis after they dump you. We have tried contacting Aegis directly, but have had no response. We will pursue this with a lawyer. Aegis picked up our furniture on June 10th and finally delivered on July 26th, only after we threatened to call police.
