For us, an expensive mistake
We hired Amazing Marketing Co. for Amazon PPC/account management July 2023 - June 2024. At best, we averaged ~$6k/month in new marketing spend to generate only ~$4.5k gross—and most of that "success" was just our existing website customers being diverted to Amazon for free shipping, cannibalizing higher-margin website sales. We had to hike Amazon prices to stop the bleed. Before a single PPC dollar was spent, it took them about five months to update our four product listings that we wanted to push, while billing us $2k/month (discounted from their $3k/mo. standard) for account “management”, that takes me a few hours each month. After a year of promises that “next month” would turn it around, we terminated our relationship with them. I cut Amazon ad spend from $5–6k+ to $1.2–1.5k to stop the bleeding, completely rebuilt the campaigns, and our monthly gross actually improved. Ryan was professional and pleasant. Riley felt disengaged from day one. Our account rep was constantly traveling and seemed to forget what we’d aligned on each week and gave us the bare minimum, but was friendly. For us, this was an expensive, year-long mistake.
