Defensive Arts Center, LLC is outstanding! The instructor is incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and patient—making the class both effective and enjoyable. The training is practical, safe, and confidence-building. Highly recommend!
My son is going to a Service Academy, and since we don't have much experience with guns, I looked into Google. Greg was highly rated, we gave him a chance, and my son's experience was extraordinary. Greg prepared him for the equipment and situations he will encounter during his future training at the Academy. He gave him a strong foundation on which he will build what we hope is a long and fruitful service.
I was trained by Greg in two courses so far (Use of Force Continuum and De-escalation & Soft Skills). He is a jack-of-all-trades in the security officer field so I was able to grow further in my career as a Security Officer because of him. Security Officers are often expected to be ready to go when they're hired. Additionally, the field is competitive when it comes to companies (e.g. Portland Art Museum, OMSI, Cascadia Behavioral Healthcare, Legacy Health and Central City Concern) that have their own Safety & Security department. Greg is training me to not only last longer as a Security Officer but to increase my chances of getting hired at a nonprofit.He provided me with reading materials (including a verbal judo book) that I can refer to when I am on the job. His approach to preparing me makes me feel I can do this. I asked questions and we practiced together. He really cares about his students' success so agreed to serve as a professional reference for me. I lucked out in finding his business as the rest of the defensive arts companies in Oregon do not offer what he does.If you're a Security Officer needing necessary training to take your career to the next level, Defensive Arts Center is THE place for you.
My wife and I scheduled the "Date Night" class for the both of us. Greg was super helpful in scheduling as well as helping me get into the facility because I am disabled. Greg was very informative and tailored his firearm handling training to my needs which was very helpful. He made the experience fun and gave us both more confidence in handling firearms and knowing the laws. Will absolutely recommend Defensive Arts Center for gun safety training!
I absolutely love the classes here. So personalized and attentive. I look forward to taking more classes as I am able or need to for compliance. I'm really looking forward to checking out his new gun range in the making to. I've taken classes here both for compliance, and for fun with my preteen son & he likes it just as much as I do.
Instructor Greg is very experienced and informative. The course covered more than expected. I left with a new knowledge and understanding regarding firearm safety and procedure.

What stood out for me was the comfortability, unbiased, non-political, Diverse excepting community that is offered. Didn’t matter who you are you are given quality information about your second amendment rights, and the laws of our land. . Your also given the opportunity to further your knowledge with an array of different classes that can fit your needs, budget, and time schedule
