Terrible Company to Deal with - Avoid!
Submitting this review on behalf of my elderly mother: I am submitting this formal consumer complaint against Direct Solar Power (also doing business as Direct Solar Power LLC and any related entities), located in Fort Worth, Texas, for deceptive sales practices, breach of contract, and failure to honor warranty and repair obligations.Summary of PurchaseOn May 7, 2025, I entered into a contract with Direct Solar Power for the purchase of a solar energy system to be installed at my residence at 3702 Pansy Rd., Clarksville, Ohio. The total amount I paid was $2,981.31.I was assured verbally and through sales materials that the system would generate solar power from sunlight and would reduce my electric bill during sunny conditions, while also being capable of operating on electricity as needed. My installer coordinated directly with a representative named Chris at Direct Solar Power and sent photographs of the completed installation to confirm it was installed correctly.Description of the ProblemSince installation, the system has never functioned as represented. It produces no solar power and operates solely on electricity. As a result, I have received no reduction in my electric bill and no benefit from the solar system.I made multiple attempts to contact Direct Solar Power to resolve this issue. Initially, calls were answered and I was told that Chris would return my call within the hour; however, no return calls were ever made. Eventually, the company began recognizing my phone number and answering with “Hello, Karen,” but still failed to follow up as promised.I also asked my installer to contact the company. He was instructed to take and send photographs of the installation, which he did. Despite follow-up attempts, Direct Solar Power did not respond. If there had been an installation issue, I would expect the company to identify it; instead, communication ceased entirely.In October 2025, I sent a formal demand letter by certified mail with a return receipt requested. Direct Solar Power refused delivery, and the letter was returned to me unopened. At this point, my calls are not returned, and it appears my phone number has been blocked.Relief RequestedBased on these facts, I believe Direct Solar Power has engaged in deceptive trade practices in violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act and applicable federal consumer protection laws.I respectfully request assistance in obtaining one or more of the following remedies:A full refund of the amount paid;Repair or replacement of the system so it performs as promised; and/orAny civil penalties or other relief deemed appropriate.I am available at the phone number or email listed above should you require additional information or documentation. Somewhat dissapointed
When I purchased the first solar ac everything worked out great. The second unit I purchased arrived with one out of seven panels cracked. I tried to contact company and sent pictures. No response.

Delivery was long delayed. Communication was nonexistent unless I reached out. The phone number for the person that I traded emails with was not valid. My order was shipped in two separate deliveries was not advised upfront that would be the case. I cannot recommend direct solar power.

Communication Is Difficult
My representative is in S. Africa and I'm in California. He was a nice enough person. But time difference and follow through from his team, were lacking.Just needed Solar Plans. Said they could provide them in 8-10 from order. Took over 3 weeks because of communication issues. They didn't read my form carefully and corrections to what they created would come back without the requested changes.

Terrible company to interact with
Find any other solar company to work with, would never recommend Direct Solar Power. Bad customer service, they send you emails with deals that you then go and order on their website and they confirm via email but then cancel with no explanation. After contacting them so they can never waste my time again, their customer service rep sends nonsense emails about some so-called “proof” of which I have no idea what they are talking about and now they’re wasting even more of my time. Avoid at all costs and your life will be happier lol.

Overall, Not Well Done
We did not get certain things that Direct solar should have foreseen a need for, and we received way more of some items at our cost. 16 extra rails, for example. The cable order took weeks to get right. Pricing on make-up items we needed were exorbitant. Deliveries were slow. Damage matters were poorly handled and slow. Communication was inept, and slow.

Disappointing Experience - Misleading Availability and Significant Markup
I ordered a battery busbar from Direct Solar Power (DSP) after finding it out of stock at my original vendor, Signature Solar. The DSP website indicated the item was in stock, and I was willing to pay the higher price of $84.98 (approximately $20 more than the typical price) to get it quickly for my off-grid solar installation, as I had a limited window of time.After placing the order, I was informed the item was actually backordered "due to high demand from the manufacturer," causing a significant delay to my project.When the busbar finally arrived, I was very disappointed to discover it had shipped directly from Signature Solar. Upon checking Signature Solar's website, I found they not only had the busbars back in stock but were selling them for just $59.98—meaning I paid a $25 markup to DSP for an item I could have bought from the original source, which was now cheaper and available.I feel Direct Solar Power misled me about the product's availability and is simply acting as a highly marked-up drop-shipper for another company's products. Due to the delay, the misleading availability, and the significant hidden markup, I doubt I will purchase from Direct Solar Power again.

There was a delay on a stated in desk stock item however follow up on my part and making contact said that there was a back order. Just make sure that your in stock status online or risk of being low or depleted is shown on product. Other than that the timeline given to have the product delivered to my doorstep was accurate and in great condition. Thank you very much.

EG4 Hybrid mini split.
The EG4 hybrid mini split arrived on a pallet, neatly wrapped and all three boxes were in excellent shape. Very good service. EG4 does a good job of including the things you need for an easy installation. Unit runs and performs beyond expectations. Will not hesitate to purchase from Direct Solar Power again.
