Still waiting
Had an gift card I wasn't going to use so decided to try giftcardrescue.com. They offered me basically 1/2 the face value and I thought something is better than nothing. I followed the procedures and was to receive a check. Six weeks later and I'm still waiting. I have emailed and get an auto response stating they will reply in one to two days but a week later still no reply or check.

THIEVES!
THIS company is a bunch of thieves! i sold them a gift card in may and now the company is shut down for good! I tried contacting them about this issue numerous times and was told my check was lost in the mail and they would reissue it. I talked to someone after waiting another month and they hung up on me! How is this even legal? i want my money or my gift card back! This company is a joke! I will file a police report and contact a lawyer! they are not getting away with this!

Out of business
After 2 months of trying to get paid for a gift card I sent. Yesterday I received this email.July 19, 2016 To our Customers: You are receiving this letter because you sold gift cards to GiftCardRescue.com recently and are awaiting payments on those gift cards. Unfortunately, I regret to inform you that GiftCardRescue.com has closed down effective July 15, 2016. Our company was forced to shut down last week when a lender to the company (with whom we have been trying to negotiate a temporary forbearance) went to court and got a judgment against our company. With that judgment, they placed a hold on our business bank account, depleting all the funds in our account. Without access to our operating account, we had no choice but to shut down. I sincerely regret this outcome and any possible impact to you. As one of the pioneers of the secondary gift card industry, it breaks my heart to see a business I have worked so tirelessly to build over the last 8 years come to a sudden end, with payments owed to customers like you. While our business has experienced rapid growth over the last year, our effort to secure additional capital to finance the growth has been a challenge, resulting in reduced margins and losses. Since November 2015, we have been working with an investment banking firm to find a strategic partner/buyer for the company but those efforts ended in June 2016 without success. We were in the process of exploring other options to salvage value from the business before this action from our creditor brought everything to a halt and forced our closure. I am sure you are wondering what will happen to the debt owed to you by GiftCardRescue.com. While I have pursued all efforts to find a way to pay the amounts owed to you, or to have another company in the secondary gift card industry assume and pay the obligations owed to you as part of a transaction, at this point my efforts have not been successful. If this circumstance changes, you will receive further communications to ensure you are properly advised. I know this answer will not be of any comfort to you and I am very sorry for that. I never expected to be in this situation. I would like to thank you for trusting us with your business and regret that we were not able to send you payment for the cards you sold to us. If you have any questions, please send your communications to GiftCardRescue.com at the address below. Sincerely, Giftcardrescue.com, LLCDo not send them any gift cards. I was lied to for months.

Terrible Experience 2nd time around.
I have used this company twice. The first time it took about 2 months to receive payment that I sent to them with 2 follow up calls. The second time I sent cards to them it took four months to receive payment after 6 emails, numerous phone calls during which I either could not get ahold of someone during normal business hours OR the person that I did get ahold of was extremely rude through the process. All-in-all, the process was unacceptable and lacked anything that resembled customer service. I recommend that you do not use this company at all.

WARNING ! WARNING ! Fraud after fraud!
Never ever buy or sell any thing from them. They will never give you your paycheck nor the gift card. This company is thief to steal your money and time. DO NOT TRUST ANY WORD FROM THEM.

Lies, lies, and more lies. Plus, no check
On April 22, I sent them four $50.00 Walmart cards for $178.00. On May 16, they emailed me and stated I would receive a check within 15 business days.I emailed them on June 12 and told them the 15 days was almost up. They emailed me back and said if I don't receive it by June 16, contact them.June 17-contacted them, was told they would issue another check and I would have it in 5 business days.June 24th-Contacted them and they said they mailed a check June 23rd.July 1st- contacted them and they said check was mailed June 28th. When I told them they told last week that the check was mailed June 23rd, he stated that was incorrect.July 1st-emailed them and told them if I don't receive a check by July 8th, I will contact the BBB, and publish negative reviews wherever possible.July 8th- NO CHECKDO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Terrible Customer Service
I ordered four Kohl's cards in one order. Two of the cards were bad. It took me forever to get the customer service rep to take care of what was their mistake. I always spoke to the same person so I am guessing it is a one man operation. It took two months for me to receive credit. I chose to take credit on my account instead of payment back to my credit card because they told me it would take 4-6 weeks for a refund. I was told I would receive the credit the following day. It never came and I had to contact them again. Finally in a week it arrive. I cannot recommend Gift Card Rescue because of the huge delay in making things right.

Great transaction
I use numerous gift card websites and tend to buy electronic ones. The good thing is that this one had what I wanted at a nice discount while others only had physical cards. The downside was the wait to get it. While normally a few hours is great when you buy on the way to the restaurant like I did a few hours is too long.I ended up not receiving the code in time so paid full price at the restaurant. Since its a chain I frequent no big deal. At least two other sites I use I get the codes instantly but they didn't have electronic ones for this chain so I took the risk and bought anyway.Other than that all was great. Would use again but allow more time for fulfillment. Would have given 5 stars if received instantly like some of their competitors

Dishonest and Horrible
Hello All,I actually never write reviews, however given the extremely negative experience I had (and am still having) with this company, I feel it is necessary to spread the word, in hopes it does not happen to anyone else. I cannot conceptualize how such a simplistic task of converting gift cards to checks, can take so long and involve dishonest updates during the process.I mailed four separate gift cards in late April 2016. After over 14 business days had passed, I emailed customer service on May 9, 2016 to ask whether the cards were received, as I was already feeling nervous about it taking a half a month. To my surprise, "none" of the cards had been received according to their email response provided on May 11, 2016. Then, I began looking up business reviews and really began worrying. On May 13, 2016, they sent me an email that all four cards had been received. By May 30, 2016, I received emails confirming that all four cards were process for payment. Within the emails it stated, "We thought you'd like to know that your order has been paid. We will be sending you a [dollar amount] check for order [order number] in 3-5 business days," and according to the current FAQ page of the Gift Card Rescue website, "Checks are processed for payment within 5 business days after we receive and verify the value on [a] gift card."On the same website FAQ section, it is stated, "All checks are mailed via USPS First Class from our automated payment system and take about 10 -14 business days to arrive." Therefore, my checks totaling $228 should have been received by June 17, 2016 at the absolute latest (TWENTY business days). There were no checks. So on June 19, 2016, I emailed customer service yet again, this time asking where my four checks were. They finally responded June 22, 2016 and stated, "Your payment was shipped out as of 05/30/16. If you have not received your payment by 06/30/16, we will notify our finance department to have this payment reissued through our automated payment system." That would put us at nearly 30 BUSINESS days, which is completely contradictory to anything their website says in terms of order/payment processing. RIGHT after that email was sent, I received a separate email from customer service stating, "We are sorry to hear that your check has not arrived. We have notified our finance department to have this payment reissued through our automated payment system. Once the payment has shipped, it should arrive within 3-5 business days." Must have chosen the wrong automatic reply.Regardless, it seemed clear that since the most recent email stated the checks would be reissued, I could count on that. It boggles my mind that it would take anymore than a day to re-ship four checks that were somehow "lost" in the mail, or whatever happened to them (which they never seem to identify). Well, the fifth business day was today, and not shockingly, there are still no checks in my mailbox. They also have not provided ANY update as to when they re-shipped new checks, if at all.So in summary, I mailed my gift cards worth $350 to this company in April 2016, and as of June 30, 2016 have NOT received my money. I will never recommend this business to anyone and will intentionally spread negative word about Gift Card Rescue. Absolutely horrible service in every sense, and clearly dishonest with timelines and communication. At this point, I am unsure whether I will ever see my money. Even if I ever do receive the checks, I will be nervous while they pend in my bank account. I wonder if they actually have any money to give. Extremely untrustworthy/do NOT waste your time.

Confirmed no customer service
I actually had a few transactions buying cards at Giftcardrescue, and I fortunately got the promised cards with the promised balance. But I noticed how bad the reviews are, so I decided to call their customer service number 410-690-8357 in the middle of a weekday, and it rang and rang and nobody answered!!! I did see quite a few people complain that they don't answer their phone, so that is true. I then sent them an email saying "I am having a problem with the gift card I bought, order #nnnnnn, how do I get a refund?". I got an automated acknowledgement of the email, but it has been over a week and there is no further response. So bottom line, don't buy from them, because if there is a problem, you won't get any refund. Yes, the discounted cards are some of the best discounts on the internet, but all it takes is one bad card and you'll lose the savings.

Giftcardrescue.com stealing money and disguising it as the issuing giftcard company changing their policy
I purchased a $202.23 Lowes gift card from GiftCardRescue.com (GCR) on December 11, 2015. I placed an online order at Lowes.com on Jan 16, 2016 that left a remaining balance on the card of $138.21. This balance was last confirmed by Lowes in May 2016. In February 2016, Lowe's made a policy change that required all Merchandise cards to only be usable within the brick and mortar stores going forward and required the physical gift card be used. It took two months of back and forth discussions with representatives of Lowe's at their 800 number, by email and with numerous layers of management within my local store to determine that this policy change had occurred. After determining this, I followed up with GCR by email on March 19 asking about the physical gift card to which I received the following response on March 28th: "David, We are aware of the policy change. Unfortunately, we were not made aware until after the change had taken place. However, we have taken steps to rectify the situation. We can ship the physical card out to you so that you are able to redeem the card in stores. ..." My response on March 29, 2016 was: "It would be very helpful if you are able to mail me the physical card..." I then had to follow up again on April 12, 2016 due to lack of response. This email chain to date was using the Contact Us mechanism within the GCR website. After still not receiving a response into early May, I sent an additional email directly to their customer service address asking for an update to which I received the following response on May 12th: "We truly apologize for the experience you are having with your order M4UQ. Your request has been received outside of our 24 hour refund period. A supervisor must review your request. Any refunds offered will be applied to the GiftCardRescue.com account associated with this order. Attached is your refund request form. Please complete the refund request form and send it to the information below. Once your documents are received we will pass this along to our supervisor. You should be updated with within 7-14 business days after your documents have been received." It is important to note that I have never once asked for a refund...I only asked for the actual card that I had already purchased and was told by GCR was available. I repeated this request in my response but played along and filled out the refund request form, submitted it along with over a dozen other documents as evidence on the same day of May 12th. On May 17th I was asked to fill out another different refund request form which I again played along and submitted same day. Again due to lack of response I asked for an update on June 9th and was then told that my request was denied due to being outside of the refund period with no response to the original request for the return of the gift card.I have filed a complaint with the BBB and will likely be filing a small claim case against them.

Headed down the same road as all of you....
Oh no, I seem to be headed down exactly the same road as every one of you. I originally used this company a few years back and everything was fine. So when I sold them more gift cards last month I didn't check the reviews first. But as time has gone on, I thought I better check the recent reviews.....and I found all of these. I mailed the first gift card on May 18th, via certified mail, and then I got an e-mail reminder from GCR on May 29th saying they didn't have it yet. So I tracked it, and they signed for it back on May 23rd. I left a message for them with this information, and magically the next day the order status on their website changed to reflect that they had it and were mailing the check. But now it's June 11th, nothing's changed, they don't answer their phones when they are open, or even have a voice mail, but they sure do change the phones to a voice mail saying they are closed once it's after hours for them. I know I have been waiting for no time at all compared to the rest of you, but what's happened to me so far is the exact same blueprint for what happened to all of you when you were at this stage of things. I actually grew up in Maryland and my parents were Maryland State Police. That doesn't really do anything for me now, but if/when there is action taken against GCR, don't leave me out just because I live so far away now. I know my way around Maryland and will definitely want to be a part of things.7/1/2016 Update:: Closing in on 6 weeks and nothing. As we all know here, when the company responds to your review, they still don't actually do anything. My gift card shows they cleared it for payment on 6/13 and were 'mailing a check'. Surprise....no check. I can't wait to see these people prosecuted. By their own 'new' rules they refer everyone to, under their 'questions' link, I have long since passed the timeline on those steps successfully too.7/11/2016 Update:: STILL A BIG FAT NOTHING! Closing in on 2 months now.7/14/2016 Update:: Not only did they NOT pay me the $200.00 for selling my card to them, but they've already resold it to another customer! It was a $250 card, so first they made $250 by not paying me for it, and then they made another $200+ for reselling it without having paid me for it. They made a $450+ profit from me. I got ZERO.

Terrible company
Don't ever waste your money and time for this company. Let's all get them to court no matter what, they cheat just not only me , also my friend and many others. I bought a pinkberry card with $0 balance last August, the problem never be solved. They always kept you excuse of expired period for sure. When we buy the products no one think $ 0 since we paid 80-90 percent $ on that. Well save your $ or throw $ for cheated people ( not even a company) . Let's have fun fun time soon all my friends
