Amazing customer support

Amazing customer support. Had an issue with a thru axle lock, the team took the time to call me and make sure everything was clear. True service.

Great product, helpful but slow customer sevice

I'm impressed with this product. It is really compact and allows removeable parts of the bike to be secured so that when I leave my bike I only need to use one lock. I don't need to put chains around the frame and both wheels. On the downside, customer service are helpful but slow because of imbalance between staff numbers and workload and on one of my orders the wrong products were shipped. This was quickly corrected.

I have repeatedly attempted to resolve…

I have repeatedly attempted to resolve an issue with Hexlox, and they just don't respond. Worst customer service I've ever experienced from a company. After I've pointed out their requirements under UK consumer law, they just ignore you. It's reached the point that I'm seeking Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and they are still ignoring the issue.

Don't go near these people

Don't go near these people. I ordered their 'Custom Bike Security Set' @ £129, all based on the make model and age of the bike on the 12th of July. What they sent arrived on Friday the 27th, according to Hexlox customer services it takes 10days for Royal Mail to carry post from Berlin to Edinburgh. What actually arrived was an assortment of random wheel skewers with 5mm allen heads.Somehow they included 3x4mm hexlox with a key, and a single 6mm hexlox.Which obviously are no use to man nor beast. No seatpost, saddle, or handlebar security.Fyi I found that a 4mm hexlox can be removed from a 5mm allen head in seconds, using nothing more than a penknife, first attempt. Then today, if all of that wasn't bad enough, Hexlox sent me an email stating that as I did not go through with this transaction, would I like to purchase a complete bike security set instead for £88?I would earnestly recommend to everyone, keep your hard earned money well away from these people.

Thankfully they do work!

I saw the video of how its defeated and saw the comments about it being fake. He now publicity revealed he used Hexlox that was broken, hence it worked. Thank god as I've got them on 4 bikes and have never felt so safe with them.

Hexlox Specialized Turbo Vado security kit

I bought a security kit (which was over £200) for a Specialised Turbo Vado. The kit included replacement axels with inserts to allow the Hexlox magnets to work, but the front replacement axel is a poor fit. The head is larger than the original and does not fit in the recess of the fork. Nor did it come with a chamfered spacer (as per the original) to fit inside the contact point designed in the fork. I queried this with Hexlox who were slow to respond to me and said "from our experience this works" and "perhaps not the answer you're looking for and not a perfect one but the best we have". I think for such an expensive product I expected better. I think others who buy this kit will also be disappointed.

Good idea but nothing is 100% securable.

I've recently bought an expensive spring loaded seat post for my speed pedelec so I was looking for a way to secure it.There are a few companies out there making specialty security parts but hexlox has a few advantages over some other brands IMO.It's not a very cheap security product but I'm convinced it can/will deter the average (parts) thief.Hey, every bit helps to prevent stolen parts, right?I've bought several of the hex bolt inserts along with a key that's tailor made for your inserts. How many key combinations are out there is only known by hexlox but it should be quite a few so chances of a key fitting your parts should be quite slim. The key and inserts are (obviously) very small which makes it quite finicky to work with. It's normal though as hex bolts aren't that big themselves. Taking out the inserts with the key isn't that easy IMO but luckily you don't have to take them out frequently.Hexlox also offers thin magentic inserts for those bikes that have non-magnetic (aluminium, titanium, ...) bolts. While mine are in fact magnetic I decided to add the magnets anyway. This makes it even harder to take the hexlox inserts out! This is bad news if you want to take them out but good news if thieves try to take them out :)The whole system is a clever way of securing your bolts but, as any other method, isn't 100% safe. A thief with the right tools and enough time can still take your bike parts. That's just how it is. No product can prevent that. It's a matter of giving thieves a hard time taking stuff, less so about (impossible) 100% security! The company itself is great. Customer service is available to answer questions if necessary. The product line is good and is expanding i.e. a big wheel nut for speed pedelecs is in the making. Hopefully available soon.Ordering is easy and my order was shipped fast and received within 5 days.Overall I'm satisfied with their products and would recommend hexlox to anyone looking to secure their bike parts.

Decent company

Nothing in life is failsafe as the old adage goes if a thief really wants something….et cetera The products are a good idea. Get good steel bolts for best magnetism not alloy aluminium composites and oil them and the plugs with maybe rust proofer like you are suppose to. With the increase in bicycle thefts from what I can see they were a good investment being a food bicycle courier to stop people stealing my parts. The adjustable thru axle was delicate and stripped and jammed. Much better with the river axle strongest in the market. Customer service is where this German company excel as the compatibility and communications were spot on, delivery is a breeze to which is what you want, all good things come in small packages so if you can not get these then something is a miss! The only thing I would add is like the vintage bell you can get at a fraction of the price online the plugs are really expensive and why I have not ordered more because of this, usually the Black Friday huge discount deals are what you have to wait for. I would also like to see smaller bolts as I have a few 4 and 5 millimetre bolts other then that a decent company to deal with.Update-so 3 years on the plugs are not coming out. I suspect either tampering or the fact that steel rusts and my bolts are semi steel so there maybe some kind of chemical reaction going on like you would have with seat posts!Makes them kind of pointless as the magnetism also adds to them wanting to stay in. I have since rust proofed them with some motorcycle rust proofed only time will tell if they cease as I do not really have the need to take them out. Another option is to just dial down your sizes and round the bolts off with a cheap disposable Alan key to stop anyone stealing them like that. Overal a little disappointed

Great product & helpful team

The Hexlox have been easy to install and adds that extra level of security and peace of mind. The team were very helpful when I had questions and needed a replacement bolt.

Product didn't turn up

Product didn't turn up. Hexlox all shirty about it. Fed Ex didn't deliver it to the right address, but that is my problem apparently. I have got to take it up with Fed Ex. No help at all. Avoid this company at all costs.

Hexlox defeated in seconds

It is supposed to secure bike components. But there is a Video by Warren Chan on youtube showing how to defeat it in seconds.

A very nice product

A very nice product. Effective in its simplicity. Thankfully my bike hasn't been targeted so can't speak from first-hand experience, but all reviews and tests show it as being an excellent deterent against attacks. The buying process was good and the online support was great. Due to the fact that no bike is the same, a one size fits all would not work. However, I am sure that there must be a way to improve the on-screen buying advice so that we woulbn't need to use the support service. The support was fast, friendly and the right parts recommended. Thank you!
