Don't bother with customer service.

Poor overall customer service quality + unfriendly return policy at the minimum, deceptive and scamming at the maximum. Also often times difficulties with communication and comprehension. If package is opened to see if item works for your purpose, then you can't return it.

I bought a kimchi refrigerator…

I bought a kimchi refrigerator for$999.99 in Carrollton H mart 2 day later I went to Harry Hines their price was 899.99 I went Carrollton store ask match the price they said NO Reason is Harry Hines store must follow Carrollton price Non sense !

Online site is a hot mess

The physical stores are great, but the online one is the complete opposite. First, they have certain items that can't be shipped to certain zip codes, and it's not frozen or refrigerated things, which they actually do ship, but they're not even food or drinks. There could be a good reason why though. Also when they shipped my order, they refunded me for about half my order, didn't even send me an email beforehand to let me know. Also, maybe they shouldn't be showing things on their site that they're out of stock on, and let customers buy them. I hope their site becomes better.Also, they never replied to my inquiry.

the worst store in Canada especially…

the worst store in Canada especially the one in Vancouver downtown. was trying one of the clips & accidentally fell of my hair then the h logo came off. we asked for a new one & staff Rico was combative as if we’re stealing something when in fact their product is not of quality. We asked for manager to a discount but she kept saying there’s no manager. another staff Leah who is a liar for mixing ”I’ll check on it” to ”I’ll pay for it”. They keep saying they don’t know their supplier’s quality, etc…Better give your workers English proficiency exam. Eventually Leah called a manager & gave us 30% off. The security guy was really nice & understood what we’re saying. But Leah even cut the guy off when he was saying something. DO NOT BUY FROM H MART. they are a scam.

Good quality &best price

Hmart: My Go-To for KoreanGroceries After Years of Disappointment! As someone who's been buying Korean groceries online for 15 years, I've had my share of frustrating experiences. I've dealt with countless online marketplaces, often receiving food that didn't meet my expectations. A major headache was the inconsistent product weights across different sites – some listed grams, others ounces, pounds, kilograms, or liters. It was impossible to accurately compare quantities before my order arrived, leaving me constantly surprised by what Iactually received. However, Hmart has been a complete game-changer. Every package I've received has exceeded my expectations in terms of quantity. On top of that, their prices are consistently 10% to 15% lower than any other online Korean market. As a high-volume buyer, these savings add up incredibly fast. Honestly, I'm upset with myself fornot discovering Hmart sooner. I wasted so much money getting less food from other retailers. If you're looking for high-quality, generous quantities of Korean food at the lowest prices, you absolutely must compare with Hmart. Don't throw away your hard-earned money on subpar portions like I did for so long.I am a very, very happy customer with Hmart. I've finally found my reliable online Korean grocery store!Thank you, Hmart!

Shady

Let me be honest. I am Korean, so I would love to defend them as much as possible, but their online service is terrible.I am going on a road trip at the end of May, so I ordered 15 items on 5/9/25 to bring with me.They took my payment immediately, but the order status didn’t change until I reached out to cancel my order on 5/15/25, which was 6 days later.Their website states that the order process will take 1-3 days, and depending on the situation, it could take longer. That’s why I contacted them to cancel it since the status hadn’t changed, there was no notification, and by the time it arrives, I probably won’t even be home. (The order contains perishable items)When I reached out to cancel my order, they responded quickly and told me, “Unfortunately, we can’t cancel your order because it’s already been shipped and the shipment will arrive on Saturday at the latest.”I didn’t receive any tracking information or any update about the order.I replied back asking for the tracking information but received no response.I made a new inquiry about the tracking information but still haven’t received any response from the customer service team.Feeling clueless I checked my account and saw that the system had updated to “shipped” with the tracking information. It clearly wasn’t shipped out earlier like the customer service rep claimed. It was only shipped in a rush after I contacted them.The customer service rep is basically ignoring my e-mail since their job is “done” but it would be kind to let me know that the tracking information has been updated but probably doesn’t want to admit that they “rushed” my delivery due to their incompetency.Also, they canceled 4 items without even contacting me. They just rushed to ship out the package without informing me about the out of stock items, clearly prioritizing making money over customer service.It’s a very very shady business practice. Don’t use your Korean shady business tactics here in the States!

Long Island City HMart Treat Customers Like Thiefs

I used to shop at the Long Island City, Queens Hmart. Overall, the experience was ok till now. I went to the store with my shopping cart, but I did not purchase anything. On my way out of the store, I walked passed the customer service representative and she asked if I had checked out. I informed the personnel that I had not purchased anything and hence had no need to check out. The lady quickly jumped out of her register and demanded to search my shopping cart. My shopping cart had things from BJ's, which I purchased before walking over to HMart. The lady took my BJ's receipt and counted how many items were in my shopping cart. She returned the receipt and said "THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING HMART," with no apology, or explanation as to why she searched my shopping cart. She made me feel like I was a thief. The personnel made me feel really disrespected and humiliated. There is no law requiring shoppers to buy anything when shopping at HMart. Because I carry my shopping cart and don't buy anything, you treat me as if I'm a thief. You should be ashamed!

Sesame seeds 4lb beg with live Maggetts and bugs!!!!!I have been shopping at Long Island City, Queens NY since last two years and spending lot of money with their high price. Recently, I bought Sesame seeds 4lb beg for about $25. when I checked at home it has so many Maggetts and bugs (live). When I took it back, a lady on customer service was very rude and didn't return my money since I didn't have receipt. This was extremely unprofessional dealing with customer. This was purchase at this place!!!!

How in the world do they stay in…

How in the world do they stay in business? They racially profiled people who aren't Asian and don’t care. Needless to say I’ll never set foot in their stores ever again. Rude customer service and rude security but they’re meant for each other they go hand in hand. Two peas in a pod. Don’t bother clicking the box to send it to them they don’t care. Their lack of customer service is pathetic I hope they go out of business. Everywhere both Canada, usa and anywhere else they exist. Hell you don’t deserve one start but the website doesn’t allow zero stars so you only got it out of protest! Bottom line they don’t give a CRAP!

Never again!

Shipping took a week, okay, ordered 8 and 4 of 2 items, was refunded for 1 of the 8 and order was showing 7, okay, then recharged for the refunded and order showed 8 again, okay, received delivery today of only 7 for 1 of the items and should have received 8, I won’t even bother calling them, my first time and the very last time! Good job, keep up the bad work! Will use Weee from now on.

No refund was available. I purchased a mixer last week and used it once. However, the function was poor. So, I wanted to get a refund. However, the person told me that if I used it, I could not return it. When I asked whether we could know the function without using it, the person could not answer. Las time, I had one more similar experience for foods. When I just got home, I found that the food had fungus. Because of the smell, I could not keep it. However, I took the picture that automatically showed the date that I took the picture. Even though the receipt and the picture showed the same day. However, the person said that I might put it outside for a while, which was not true. So, it looks like that H Mart may have no refund policy.

If only there was a H Mart location in…

If only there was a H Mart location in the Golden Horseshoe or Niagara region to do grocery shopping. It takes 1 hr & 30 minutes by GO Transit (bus & train) to reach a H Mart location in Toronto.

hi everyone do not buy any electric

hi everyone do not buy any electric, rice cookers. Coffe maker , don’t accept return. last Monday I buy rice cooker, I use to cook but rice not cook nice I want to return. I use one day. any company when u buy , if the product not good give full refund. But HMart not worse place too buy any electronics . I never shopping any more many other Korean supermarket. Customers devices. Worse. verrryyy poor.

Do Not use H Mart

I placed an online order for six packages of ramen from H Mart. Shipping was 15 dollars for the six packages. They sent me an email the day they shipped off the order. As it turns out, Four of the items were out of stock so they sent me two and still charged me the 15.00 shipping. So, the cost of the two items I did get cost twice as much. I emailed them a couple times and got NO response. They are a rip off. Do not use H Mart. They do not care !

Customer Service for their website is Non Existent.I've been trying to make a purchase for over 2 weeks now. Customer service on social media and email inquiries never get back on payment options.The website auto chat says they accept paypal but they do not give you the paypal option when checking out. I just want to know if they got rid of paypal. There are no clear answers. But i feel its a bait and switch if they dont clarify it soon.

H MART Calgary Beacon Hill. Need more Staff training

I’ve only given them two stars because they are dealing with my problem, or I would have left it blank, no stars. Moreover my wife and I were shopping at H Mart Calgary Beacon Hill. 11810 Sarcee Trail NW, Calgary, AB T3R 0A1, CanadaMy wife and I were at the fridge aisle where the tofu were. When she picked up a box of tofu and the foil on the package wasn’t sealed properly, so the tofu water spilled all over my wife’s designer winter jacket that we just got dry cleaned which cost a lot of money because it’s real fur and leather. Which involves leather dry cleaner specialists. At the beginning of the unfortunate event, we weren’t as upset as we were about to be….. I rushed to look for an Employee to help us to get some paper towels. This lady employee looked super annoyed by me asking for her assistance, my wife witness this as well. She didn’t ask what has happened, throws me the paper towel and walks off without a word said. NOW! My Wife and I are livid! We found another Employee which was a pleasant to work with, got us to the manager and dealt with our problem. Moreover, this other supervisor or manager that was standing beside him with a glove in his back pant pocket, kept staring at my wife, and I. Not just any stare, A threatening stare, like he was gonna stab us, or our lives were in danger or perhaps my wife and I may have to call 911 to get the police involved, because we felt our lives may be in harms way, because of his unpleasant presences, and his death stare. My wife asked him what are you staring at? Furthermore we believe this supervisor working at H Mart that’s giving us the super death stare, knew no word of English. He said nothing the whole time just stood there and stared us down like we were about to square off like Manny Pacquiao vs Ricky Hatton. Of course I would be in Pacquiao’s position, if fireworks did happen. The Mannger that dealt with our problem told us to get an invoice for fro the dry cleaners and come back with it to customer service and they will deal with it. Before that, we were having an argument. I appreciate this manager dealing with our problem more over before that we were having a little bit of an argument. This manager also lost abit of control and had abit of temper problem and started raising his voice. So I raised mine as well. After he heard our full story then he controlled his emotions and listen to us and dealt with our problem. Yeah, the last moment my wife said the funniest thing to the manager, she said, can we still shop here? The manager said, of course shop buy more so we can pay for your dry cleaning. Because I think this is a problem with H mart employee training, and it seems that the manager can’t solve it, so I tried to find H mart’s consumer complaint hotline, but I couldn’t find it online. So I must post our story here for all to read.NO MATTER WHAT Occupation you are in I believe you must listen to the customers full complaint and understand the situation before assuming and attacking the customer.

There Smart card is a joke

There Smart card is a joke. I used several years and accumulated a lot of point. Yesterday I would like to redeem the point. I found no points on the receipt. Then I was told my card is disabled. Very bad service for calling customer service. Waiting long time. They picked up phone and I only said one word. She hang up. Call again, always waiting. To purchase there should be very careful

Crazy

Well it only gets better from here, had an extremely deranged crazy woman in here the other day with her four children and decided to just go off on anybody that got in their way. I kicked her out told her never come back causing a disturbance big disturbance. So she comes back she gets trespassed that's easy enough LMFAO

They are not honest grocers

Sadly, H-Mart is the worst supermarket with a band of dishonest workers. I went to buy a fresh crab for my mom and asked for the one that I liked in the tank. Unfortunately, they refused to give me the one that I wanted and gave me a different one and refused to let me even see the crab and stuffed it in a brown paper bag To make things worse, they had the audacity to tell me that the crabs are all the same, which I foolishly believed. When I returned home with the crab, it was clearly a crab that had died a long time in the tank. I know because I came from a family of fishmongers and eat primarily seafood. I will never ever return to H-Mart because they are not honest people. I would go out of my way to Assi or T&T supermarket instead and spend my money there instead. SHAME on H-Mart.
