Not the actual website they mocked and scam people

This was a horrible experience, we got scammed like many others that have reported hotel value! We did an internet search for Big Sur Lodge and i'm not sure what they did but they mocked the big Sir Lodge website to the detail. It even came up as Big Sur Lodge when it appeared on Google. We thought it was the actual website. I didn't even realize it wasn't the right place until we actually arrived and we ended up having an issue with our room and they stated that it wasn't originally booked through them (but thankfully, they were able to help us out anyway without having to go through the original booker). I was furious. I had no idea. It was booked through this hotelvalues.com website, which apparently is a sister company to Priceline. When we checked out, I asked for an itemized statement and the statement was $560 less than what we had paid. Trust me I have been in touch with them. It took a lot of calling them to finally get somebody to answer their phone. It was just an overseas call center and I'm pretty sure at this point my call has been disregarded as no one has responded via email or have called me back. I wish Google and other search Directories would not allow these type of scam websites to appear in their searches. Something needs to be done to stop these scammers. This is absolutely ridiculous. Working with credit card company to resolve the issue. Wish me luck.

Got Scammed!

Horrible experience, got scammed! I did an internet search for Hampton Inn and Suites in Gainesville, FL and thought it was the actual "Hilton" website that came up to book thru as it looked identical. The price was one thing when I was looking to book it and then when the subtotal came up after I clicked pay it changed and almost 1 1/2 times the amount. Now, I am trying to call and cancel or change it and I can't. I have tried numerous times and even their customer service phone number is not working. It just rings to an automated message. They got me! Don't let them get you too! I am so annoyed at myself for doing this too quickly and not taking the time to look more carefully. Who knew that I needed trip insurance? truly bogus. Because now they say that the only way I could be refunded is if I had purchased the insurance, well I don't normally need insurance when booking with a hotel from Marriott, Hyatt or Hilton. Like I said really pissed off at myself.

Scam website name for sale !

It seems there isa consensus here that hotel value.com is a scam. I noticed the website name is for sale ! Now they will probably continue their scam with another name. Who do we contact to put this scum in prison before they make more victims ? Donald Trump ? As a foreigner I don’t have access

They scammed me as well

They scammed me as well. No legitimate hotel would ever keep your money if you cancelled, especially after only 7 minutes. Sure you can cancel, but they will keep your $$ like they did my $2500. STAY AWAY!

Hidden fees - total scam

Booked a hotel in Albury, NSW for $198. Just got credit card statement and found out we've been slugged with an additional two charges totalling a further $90! Total scam

I booked a hotel through this web site

I booked a hotel through this web site, and then was confronted by additional processing fees and 2 additional "taxes", without any justification. This added 50% with respect to the announced price. This is clearly not acceptable.

This is clearly a criminal…

This is clearly a criminal organization. They mimic the official hotel website and charge you a horrific booking fee (€200 for € 600 reservation), which they don’t clearly mention before you confirm the reservation. I canceled it immediately and got a confirmation of the cancellation but in fact they didn’t cancel the booking and charged my credit card, so I ended up with a double booking I had to pay for. There is no way you can get in touch with them and the creditcard company (ICS) can’t or won’t do anything about it.

It's a scam

It's a scam. They add exorbitant fees only after they process payment and then have a no refund policy. I was scammed out of £389 for a hotel room that was advertised for £127. They have a number to call but only automated, not a real person.

Please be careful with this website

Please be careful with this website, although unfortunately, like the others, you will probably find out only after payment that you are not on the hotel website, but on a fraudulent website. Because when you make a reservation, the website pretends that you are directly on the hotel website. They will list other prices for which you will buy and then you will find out on your card, because they will immediately block your money that you paid 100 USD more for one night. It is probably useless to call, the number is registered in Texas and after clicking through you will listen to music for an hour and it will never connect you anywhere. You cannot send an email, the website does not exist. It is a targeted scam against people

Be careful when booking a room through Hotelvalue; it's better to look for another provider.

Hotelvalue has very high fees that are not mentioned before payment. You have to read the entire terms and conditions to find this out. For a hotel booking costing CHF 175, you pay CHF 261 via Hotelvalue. Everything is then billed in US dollars on the invoice, and the conversion rate is very high. Unfortunately, the homepage for the selected hotel was very similar to the original homepage... so be careful - Hotelvalue is in my opinion not a reputable site for bookings.

Totally misleading

Totally misleading. As far as I knew I was booking with the actual hotel, Homewood Suites By Hilton. Made reservations in May for late October. The $797.23 came out of my account within a few days, which has never happened before, months in advance. I called Homewood Suites only to find out I didn’t have a reservation with them. I tried to cancel the reservation and found out it was not refundable. That information was not available in sight when I made the reservation. I purposefully looked to make sure I could cancel if something unforeseen happened. We are actually there today. I was told at the front desk that all rooms are suites, as if they are equal. Our room has rust in the refrigerator and dishwasher door, in view. Dishwasher is not clean. Had to get a plunger the first time we flushed the commode. Please be careful. I think you have to call Hilton directly to be sure you have the right place. The picture was on the screen as if it was legitimate. Beware.

Thought I was booking on hotel website

Thought I was booking on hotel website, but apparently this company had high jacked the site. After I made my reservation, I tried to change the date via their confirmation email, which had a link to modify the reservation. I clicked on the link and was advised not to proceed because it was a scam. I lost $154.58. Buyer Beware

We mistakenly thought we Made a direct…

We mistakenly thought we Made a direct booking at a hotel website. Not so. Hotelvalues.com Made mistakes in the booking (charges us for three rooms and actually booked two for two instead of one night and a unannounced surcharge of €800 (!) and although we cancelled the booking (confirmed) it still stands. On top of that my credit card was blocked by my bank unfortunately after, and because of, payment to a suspicious organisation. That, at least, was the correct thing to do.
