Scammers and liars
On October 26, 2024, we signed up for services with Christina at Penguin Author House. She promised to complete the project within three weeks, including 30 special edition copies (mentioned in the contract and invoice). However, we are now in the third month, and the project remains incomplete. The edited manuscript we received was of shockingly poor quality. Some pages were edited, while entire chapters were left untouched. Moreover, the manuscript they returned contained additional mistakes that were not in the original, making it unusable.Attempts to address these concerns have been frustrating. Christina, now the project manager, does not respond to phone calls or emails. Furthermore, clients do not have access to higher-level staff to escalate their concerns. For instance, Oliver, the Head of the Department, signed us up through Christina but he is unreachable. The earlier project manager, Kyle, was particularly unprofessional and uncooperative, especially making untoward remarks toward ethnic customers. Brian is another employee who assured us that the project would be well taken care of and that he would personally oversee it, ensuring attention to detail. He promised to reach out to us the next business day to set up another call and restart the project. We never heard back from him and he pawned us off to another associate.The worst part was that the company kept admitting their mistakes and were quick to condemn the behavior of their colleagues, but instead of improving the situation, they kept repeating the same mistakes. It became clear that their management is completely ineffective and that they don’t have the resources to fulfill their promises. They even backed out of the items mentioned in their contract.To make matters worse, after taking our money upfront, they completely ghosted us, leaving us in the dark and with zero progress on the project, wasting our 9 weeks. They are unprofessional, unethical, and incapable of delivering anything close to what they claim. They also have been using the name of another legitimate author service as a way to deceive potential clients, which is nothing short of a scam.As a result, we have canceled the project and formally requested a refund. To date, we have not received any response regarding the refund. This entire experience has been a complete waste of nine weeks, causing significant losses and frustration.We strongly advise others to be cautious before engaging with this company. We regret our decision to work with Penguin Author House and hope others learn from our experience.

This company uses its name to pose as another famous book publisher - penguin random houseThis company does not have experience in selling books, I have just been scammed by them, I stupidly read the bad reviews after I paid them (I thought I recognised the name) I immediately asked for a refund before they started any work and this was 2 weeks ago and I still have no money in my account and they promise they have refunded me and are sending me fake refund transaction screenshots To try and get me to believe they published best sellers online they sent me listing of great books published by the real - peguin authors house and tried to tell me that they were under the same umbrella as them when I caught them out (they are most definielty not) Don't be fooled like me

It’s cruel to prey on the dreams of inexperienced authors. How dare you. The other 1 star review gives the most detail. You should be ashamed. Predators. The lot of you.

The new thing now is to scam by targeting writers wanting to be first time published authors. So - this company is NOT reputable and should not be confused for Penguin Random House, thats the first sign of a scam or unethical behavior, piggybacking on a reputable company to fool people. Lets review the FACTS:1-The ONLY place they have reviews is here, TrustPilot. and thier SIX reviews are all by first time reviewers (so this is the first and only review they've left). And all done in Oct & Nov 2023, Three of them on the same day. Aside from that, they have ZERO presence online.2-There is NOTHING on Amazon published by them, they are non-exsistant on Amazon, even though they claim it on thier site, all lies. Do a search under books published by Penguin Authors House and there isnt a single one.3-The novels they post on thier site as "success stories" dont exist. I have looked up all the names and jackets on Amazon, nothing. In fact, you can do a Google search of the same and NOTHING comes up on the entire web. Ummm, Im just one little unknown human and there is 2 pages of me on Google.4- In one place Ggoogle)they have thier non-exisitant address listed as just a major street in Downtown LA and on their website it has a San Diego address. The LA address is a street corner only and the only thing on it is the Axix on !2th rental Apartment building. I live back and fouth from both of those cities and they are nowhere, we even share the same zip code in BOTH LA and in San Diego!- supposedly. So, a publisher should have an office right? An LLC listied somewhere?5-When I did a search on thier phone number it's only on thier website and a website thats a collections agency, which also is very generic and looks scammy, in fact, its the same template used for both websites. And the first time I clicked on the agencies website the phone number was the same and it quickly flickered to a diffrent number (this just means the site has issues/bugs, that was the number posted before and the bugs still havent processed the recent change on Google. It happens on my site as well. But this is why the phone numner pulls up the collectors site still. Collectors were the big scamm in the last few years people scared to have thier credit ruined and these fake collectors raked it in. $$Lastly, 888 numbers are the big thing within scammers now, verify this online. Becuase you are mopre like;uy to belive and speak to them. I can go on about the inconsistencies and Penguin Authors House lack of visibility ANYWHERE (like the BBB, yelp, linkedIn etc) I can go on with a long list, But I think you got the picture. DO NOT BE FOOLED OR RIPPED OFF BY THIS COMPANY!! Its a big fat SCAM! Shame on you Penguin Authors House! You are turely bottom feeders taking advantage of hopeful people.
