I had a great experience with Platica
I had a great experience with Platica! It was very helpful practicing my spanish with a native speaker, especially in a pandemic where it is not as easy to practice because of online classes. My partner was very patient with me, helped me learn alot, and overall was really great!

Highly Recommend
I really enjoyed speaking with my partner. It was easy to set up, and there were no problems/hassles when Skyping. It was very beneficial to have frequent conversations in Spanish, as well as helpful to get feedback on what I need to improve on.

I LOVE Ale
I LOVE Ale! Such a sweet and encouraging person to talk with and I definitely improved upon my conversational skills and confidence. She was very open and has a great memory, which made me feel more valued throughout the semester.

Amazing partner!

My experience with Platica was…
My experience with Platica was fantastic! I met two really amazing women who taught me a lot about their culture and personal experiences and our conversations together helped improve my Spanish. Speaking with native speakers is a really valuable experience, and I'm so glad I got this opportunity to practice and learn more about Guatemala.

Great Spanish Tool
Platica is a great tool that significantly helped me improve my Spanish speaking skills. I was able to have conversations with a native Spanish speaker, wherein the discussions we would talk about pre-selected topics, and after that, we would take about whatever came to our minds. Overall, I would recommend this to other people for the idea that one can go out of their comfort zone to hone their Spanish skills in a friendly environment.

Overall a great experience
Overall a great experience. I’ve never done anything like this before so it was new for me. It was fairly simple to set up and is easy to catch on to. At first I was confused as to when and how often I needed to do it. The constant emails to schedule your appointment though are helpful despite being somewhat annoying. In the long run though, everything moved pretty smoothly except for the occasional technical difficulty or me forgetting about the appointment accidentally. I would recommend to people if they are trying to improve their conversational Spanish speaking skills for sure.

Great Spanish learning tool
Platica is a great tool that helped me improve my Spanish skills. I got to converse with a native Spanish speaker, which really helps when trying to learn a new language. We would discuss pre-selected topics and, if time allowed, talk about other subjects that came to mind. This program really put me outside of my comfort zone in a good way because I got to hone my Spanish skills in an environment that encouraged improvement.

I have had a great experience with Platica. In every conversation, whoever I am speaking with is very approachable and I never feel any sort of pressure when speaking to them. It is a great way to help yourself get comfortable with Spanish and I recommend it to anyone trying to build confidence with their Spanish speaking skills.

Platica is such an amazing program…
Platica is such an amazing program because it allows you to gain experience in speaking Spanish as if you were in a Spanish speaking country with the ease of the internet. After two years, I truly began to feel comfortable with my Platica partner, and I enjoyed all of our conversations. My favorite conversations happened when we veered slightly from our set conversation topics and I found myself speaking well and confidently about something I cared about. The program has helped me with my conversation skills and made me much more comfortable and confident speaking in Spanish. Next time I am actually in a Spanish speaking country or presented the opportunity to have a true conversation in Spanish, I will be grateful for all my Platica sessions. - Alaina Moskowitz

I absolutely loved my conversations with Ceci and truly felt my Spanish skills increase over the course of our conversations. It was an incredible way to get real, practical experience in the language without feeling like I was being graded or critiqued on my performance. Ceci and I have even become friends and continued our communications beyond just our registered times which has allowed me to practice my Spanish even more. This program is truly exceptional and I hope more students are able to benefit from it in the future!

Plática Review
I have been doing Plática for the past three years through my school. I have found this experience to be both extremely fun and cohesive despite being in a learning environment. I love the way in which each conversation is set up: before your conversation you will receive a list of topics you may be speaking about and after your conversation you also receive an electronic copy of your corrections. This past year, I have been an AP Spanish student, and with the help of my "speaking partner" through Plática I have been able to practice my simulated conversations for the upcoming exam. I would recommend this program to any Spanish speaking student, no matter their level. I have had such a great time throughout this program and have even developed a friendship with my speaking partner.

Platica Review
I was with Cecilia Arroyo for the past two years. She was always on time and enthusiastic to have the conversations. This enthusiasm helped have a better conversation. She acted interested to hear what I had to say, and she also had good things to talk about. Platica helped immerse me in the Spanish language and give me more experience with it.
