The only place where I will print ANYTHING from now on.
First, there’s SmartPress's website, which is one of the most usable websites I’ve ever come across. Everything was very intuitive and allowed for 1 million changes, so I could compare prices. The website is also quite beautiful. The variety of products and paper types is excellent. I ordered their sample booklet, and it arrived quickly. The quality of papers is excellent, and they offer papers in a great many choices of weight, color, gloss, and "ethicalness." I started looking around at their products and options offered, which brought to mind several questions that I asked in the chat function. This prompted an invitation to a video call to talk about my project with Keela. Wow. This impressed me! I am very much a beginner at printing things and was eager to have everything be perfect. She was infinitely helpful and patient, put me at ease, answered all my questions, and got me started on the right path. Subsequently, when I emailed Keela with follow-up questions, she always responded promptly and completely. The process of getting my book printed was labor-intensive on my end. SmartPress has marvelous graphic arts folks who happily corrected my mistakes---multiple times. I think I submitted eight "new-and-improved" manuscripts before we finally put together the one that was right in every way. Through all of this, they were infinitely patient with my process. I made *a lot* of changes, some of them pretty big. I changed my proof from hard to digital, increased the number of units I ordered by 300%, formatted and reformatted, changed the number of pages in my book, asked the project manager to mail a single copy to the copyright office in D.C., and more. All responses from the team supporting my job were positive. They were all genuinely dedicated to helping me get exactly what I wanted. And with all this customer service, my unit price was incredibly reasonable. After this single experience with printing a book, I’m a die-hard fan of SmartPress. I would unequivocally recommend SmartPress to anyone wanting to have materials printed. I will be back whenever I need anything printed.

Customer support was no help.
Spoke with customer support about a reorder that was printed on incorrect paper. They confirmed I reordered but when I explained how the cards were unusable and that what I received unusuable, I was given a recommendation to place and pay for another order with a different card stock. I expect when I re-order a product, I will receive the same product.

I had high hopes for this project, but was rather disappointed at the results. My design incorporated a narrow outlined border, which I worked diligently to be pixel-perfect on all sides. The proof's margins and cut lines appeared to be correct, so I approved. When I received the order, each card appeared to have a larger margin on the top than on the bottom and along the sides. This created an illusion that the design hadn't been centered like my proof showed. I know things can shift in the printing process, but I was bummed to see this, especially having been satisfied with other SmartPress orders in the past.

The best part was an extremely helpful man saw me trying to find the book pickup area. He saw me outside in the cold looking confused and made sure I could locate my 1000 books. Then he loaded my car with these heavy boxes. Top shelf kindness!
