My Publishing Experience
I recently worked with The Publishing Legends to help publish my first book, and overall I had a positive experience. From the start, the team was supportive and communicative. My project manager walked me through each step of editing, cover design, and preparation for publication. I appreciated how patient they were with feedback and revisions, and they helped me turn what was a daunting project into something I could actually be proud of. There were a few bumps along the way a few errors in early drafts that needed additional attention and a few unexpected costs that weren’t fully clear at the outset but the team always addressed my concerns when I raised them. Ultimately I was able to get my book published successfully and available online, and I feel like I learned a lot through the process. I would recommend The Publishing Legends for authors who want hands-on support through the publishing process, just be sure you stay involved and ask lots of questions so expectations are clear from beginning to end.

STOP! Don’t get hustled like we did
STOP! Do not waste your time and money with this so called publishing company. This is what I mean…We’ve spent well over 1 year with this company and and when it came close to an alleged launch date is when we truly discovered who they were.We noticed the little things like, they would not make the corrections of the manuscript even after I acknowledged the deficiency. They would not correct it but instead send another chapter and another with the same errors. This was done at least 4 times or more. I kept reading the previous chapters just to see that none of the corrections were fixed.I asked them about copyrighting the book in the beginning. Sarah Eldridge told me, “copyrighting is included. Dont worry about it.” Then months later after she thought we had forgotten and it’s now close to a so called launch date, she tells me, “the price for copyrighting is an additional $1,200.” Once I addressed this, there was no reply.I didn’t discover until after a year of dealing with Sara with The Publisher Legends that they have left out chunks of the original manuscript. Parts of the book that make the foundation of the book. I was reading from the beginning and when I came across a very important part of the story, I noticed that a LARGE portion of the manuscript was missing. Once I addressed this, there was no reply.I noticed that Sarah kept telling me, “we will take care of this and we will take care of that but it boils down to they were trying to string me along so they can use their own account or means to taking the money from the sell of each book. Here’s what I mean, Sarah said to me, “We will start a preorder on your book.” I said,” how are you going to announce a preorder and we haven’t even discussed anything about forms of collecting payments nor have I given nor have you requested my bank information”. Once again, I addressed this, there was no response.The front cover of the book was completely SUBSTANDARD. I had to tell them several times, “look at the picture of the book. It looks like you guys took the head off one persons body and placed it on another. The color of the hands don’t even match the faces of the people.” After several times of pointing out things that the average person would point out, we decided to leave it alone.The website for the book and social media pages were good but once I pointed out the SEO report of them, Sarah became defensive and said it’s a SCAM. She said someone is trying to sell you SEOs. I told her, “it’s not a scam, my friend ran the report and shared it with me. Are you saying it’s not true?” She replied, “it could be true but we will optimize it closer to launching the book.” Listen, if I haven’t shared enough already for you to run, not walk from this company…I wrote Sarah and Mark Adonis an email requesting the whole project be terminated and at least half of my final payment be returned. As of right now, they are still accepting preorder payments even after the email to close down effectively immediately. Again, STOP! Do not trust this company or waste your time and money. I’m not sure how they have a rating is good as it is unless they are doing the reviews themselves.They really are a scam!Today is Feb 25, 2025 at 1:30pm ESTAfter receiving a phone call and text message from David and Sarah attempting to convince me to remove this review, I’m certain more than ever that I did the right thing by submitting it.Even though Sarah and David are true when they said they did everything I asked but to what extent of headaches and anxiety along the way. I have given them chance after chance to make things better along the way but the last straw for us was when they left out a large portion of the story line and was waiting for my approval to publish it. If I hadn’t caught the missing parts, it would’ve been published exactly like that.Now, David called me and threatened that if I don’t allow them to continue publishing the book, they would prevent me from having it published with any other publisher. In fact, I have emails to fact they the proof reading and line editing done so far is our personal property to do what we please.If the Publishing Legends wants to control what we do with the book, then return our full refund and do what you want with the work you did with the book. I’m telling everyone, stay away from this company.This is true and correct to the best of my ability.

The ONLY reason I have a published book is because of David from The Publishing Legends. My picture book, "My Pet Duck" by J.L. Abousleman, is now available on Amazon and other platforms. I did not have the talent and time to take the necessary steps required to publish this book, and when I looked at vanity publishers’ reputation I was horrified. However, David convinced me to trust him by offering an excellent deal and guaranteeing my book's success. It's important to note that if you want a successful book to your liking, you must be involved in every step of the process. There were numerous unnecessary mistakes throughout my project, which at one point made me want to quit. Things did not get done correctly until David himself got involved.
