Leave them a bad review and they punish you
Left them a bad review once, and now their punishment is that I get the worst service. A release that was announced 4 x months ago, I ordered immediately. But I get the slowest despatch and it was only shipped on release day, despite other people placing an order days before release and receiving it actually on release date

Townsend Records Online Store
I have always found Townsend Records Online service very reliable. Sometimes things take a little longer than expected towards the end of the year due to Christmas and New Year deliveries, which come with all things Royal Mail related, but that does not in anyway reflect on the service in itself. E-mails are responded to in a reasonable time and manner. I have been ordering with them for several years now and find no reason for that not to remain the case.

Terrible customer service and very late delivery
Bought an Andy and the Odd socks T shirt for my granddaughter's birthday.Despite paying for 48 hours delivery it took 2 weeks to arrive, thus missing her birthday. Tracking suggested it was posted within 2 days of ordering, however when I queried it's whereabouts after a week I was informed it was in the 'packaging' department.I have emailed them (no phone no. Available) to complain but just fobbed off by automated emails.Customer service: Non existent Delivery times: PoorProduct quality: Cheap rubbish, ripping off the kids (and parents ) with poor merchandise.

They cancel your orders weeks after the fact
Made the mistake of thinking I would get what I have ordered.Left me hanging for weeks just to cancel my order out of the blue. They 'didn't have the item in stock' .. then why was it adverstied for weeks and apart of many bundles. Small businesses with fledgling websites know how to run then, TMs need to get a grip. Merry blooming Christmas, now need to re-think gift ideas.

If I could give zero stars I would. I pre-ordered MJ Dangerous sacd mid August for an end of August releases. . Release comes mes and goes and then it’s OOS . Been chasing it up ever since . It’s actually in stock with the company that makes it. Not had ANY communication from them since 7th November. Lost patience and cancelled 21st November …. That’s 3 MONTHS after I ordered . Waiting to see If I get my Klama refund now.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS WEBSITE. They are advertising pre-orders for CD’s that do not currently exist ie, a friend of mine whose 8th album is yet to be announced is already being sold here supposedly with a “singed print and personal video”… there’s ZERO confirmation. It’s in the works but he hasn’t yet released any information, the album name, nor a release date, just one new single. Save yourself the hassle of getting scammed and use a reputable website instead, banquet records, hmv etc. By the looks of other reviews this isn’t the first time they’ve conned people.

PreOrder not received yet, and no explanation why
I pre-ordered Gary Numans A Perfect Circle. Money was taken from my bank. To date I still haven't had my order which was released on 25th July 2025. I have had no email from the company explaining why I haven't had my order and each time I log in the released date changes,even though it definitely came out on 25th of July as others have had theirs. Communication from them would be appreciated

Don’t believe what they advertise..
Ordered an album as it was showing free delivery. On checking the invoice it was showing over £5 delivery charges. Emailed to find out why they were there, told they don’t do free delivery. After replying to them saying that if the delivery charges couldn’t be refunded I wished to cancel the order, only to be told it was too late to do so, and I’ll have to return the LP. Very poor service all round.

21 euros for 're-delivery'...
I ordered some LPs and what not from Feeder/Townsend Music. Soon after ordering, I received an e-mail that a copy of my passport (!) was needed to ship from their warehouse to me (European Union), with no further explanation. I asked for more information, but Veronika from customer services simply referred me to DHL. So, no explanation or help at all. Then, after a while the ordered items were returned to Townsend. Now, re-delivery costs 21 euros extra. I guess I'll have to wait and see whether the items will be delivered at all. If I have other options for certain items, I will never order here again.

Townsend sell conterfeit blu ray. I bought the Pink Floyd live in Pompéi and there was nothing on the blu-ray. I contact them but no answer. Is it so hard to be polite to answer.

Good & Not So Good/Bad
The Good: I have pre-ordered twice through Townsend before without problem; I received well-packed items very quickly. However...The Not So Good/Bad: I ordered two CD box sets at the total cost of £105.50 on 19 April; the confirmation said that they would be sent by 48 Hour Tracked delivery. At 25 April the order was still pending (i.e. not sent out), this was because one of the items was not actually in stock. Had I known the item was not in stock I would have bought from elsewhere in the first place.Companies should certainly not list items for sale when they don't hold stock - it's an obvious recipe for disaster. Anyway, I have now cancelled he entire order and bought through Amazon and eBay, as I could have done a week ago. Overall I saved a couple of £s in the process but was happy to use Townsend as I, naively, thought they benefited labels and artists - clearly not, in this case, I won't be doing the same again!Communication was lacking, I had to investigate the problem myself.

I ordered the Gillan cd box months in advance. This one with a signature from Ian Gillan. I got one without while someone else, probably in England, got a signed one later than me. I contacted Jake several times but he excels in stupid answers so I feel like I'm being treated badly as a customer. Townsend you guys did me a very bad turn!Hello Jake,Thanks for the email. I am sending pictures of the order and of someone who received a signed box from you today. My question of course is how can someone who receives the package later than me receive a signed copy from you??? That is not right?? I am curious about the explanation.

A company that cares about its customers.
I was amazed by the speed and condition of a recent purchase. It arrived from overseas immaculately packaged and lightening fast delivery in less than a week. Will certainly be purchasing more from this company online. They set a high bench mark for customer service. I must admit suppliers in Australia fall short. I’m used to the 4 weeks delivery and numerous emails trying to locate it. So this product and delivery experience was a welcomed change from our Australian suppliers. Thanks

Despicable customer service and sales policy
Never received an item I ordered. Customer service representatives Jake Holt and Veronika Hanusova have been unprofessional and extremely unhelpful. After over three months of back and forth emailing (which mostly consisted of generic copy-and-pasted FAQs), only a partial refund was issued.

Pre ordered album upsell not received…
Pre ordered the Primal Scream album via Ticketmaster when buying gig tickets, still not received the cd and told they have no record of the order and to speak to Ticketmaster. Ticketmaster say it will be sent next April and they cannot refund or send sooner as it isn't anything to do with them and to speak to Townsend music. Feel totally ripped off, how is it ok to take payment and not provide the goods?

I bought two double sets of vinyl records by the band Archive, which included four double editions of vinyl records and two print art with musicians' autographs. It was a pre-order and I waited for it to be fulfilled for over half a year. The order was originally supposed to be delivered in September, but due to delays it was delivered in November.Unfortunately, the order I received is missing a VERY IMPORTANT item for me as a fan - print art with musicians' autographs, which was supposed to be part of the set I ordered.I reported the lack to the seller, but unfortunately the seller is not willing to help and redirects me to a link where information was ADDED after my order that there is a limit of one print art per order.When I placed my order, there was no such information, which is confirmed by my order summary, which contains such information. It is stated there that I should receive two print art with musicians' autographs for the two large sets of records I ordered.The store tried to be sneaky and changed my order in their system so that the website would show that I had only ordered one print art, which is a lie and an attempt to cover up the problem.The email with the order summary that I received at the time of payment shows the truth and that I did not receive the complete order.Unfortunately, the store does not provide any help and does not even try to solve the problem. They stopped replying to emails and ignored the problem.

Does not care for their customers
After every prior order has arrived damaged in Germany, I gave the "Official Store" the benefit of the doubt and ordered a 200 EUR box set. Instead of breaking up the items (which are individually sold) into two packages to stay below the import tax barrier, Townsend shipped one large box resulting in over 50 EUR import taxes. Neither their order process nor their confirmation mentions anything in a way that one could still re-think and cancel.
