My uncle retired and needed his office things moved home. The movers packed his books, files, and pictures neatly. They placed everything right where he wanted it in his study. I'd recommend them for moves like this.

United Express Moving & Storage - Don't do it!

Don't use United Express Moving & Storage! They are a broker. They play a game of bait and catch. You are promised a low rate for a long distance move. Their estimate includes a charge of 3.40 per cubic foot, a fuel surcharge, and tariffs at 200% of the estimated cost per cubic foot. Then they tell you if you sign within 24 hours you get a discount. The discount is about half of the trumped up tariff charges. You are still getting robbed! Then you are asked to tell them what you need to move, how many and what size boxes, etc on the initial call. Of course you haven't even started packing yet! Of course you will forget many things and you can't know how many boxes your things will fill or what size the boxes will be. You pay a deposit which is about half of their estimate. It is non-refundable after 72 hours. Of course you need to book your move long before 72 hours prior. About a week before your move you are asked if you have any more items than you originally mentioned. Of course you do! In my case, i had less. We estimated 30 boxes. I had 28 but some (most) were bigger than what they estimated. Of course they were. Plus things like a treadmill I thought I'd be moving, I decided not to. So you are feeling good about things. Since I was pretty much packed. I took measurements of everything including boxes and sent them a list. I got a call back from Ryan in "Quality Assurance" saying my estimate was now about twice what originally was quoted and I was asked for an additional deposit bringing my total paid to them of the full amount of the original quote. Don't worry, Ryan said, your things will probably take up less space than the new quote. At this point, they are done with you because they received all their money. The company to which my job was brokered gets paid the rest. That's how they get paid for the job. Don't be fooled that the job will cost less than the new quote. It cost more. I got a text (not a call as Ryan had indicated) on October 30, saying the movers would come on November 3rd between 12pm and 5pm and that I'd get a call when they were 30 minutes to one hour away. By 2 o'clock I hadn't heard anything so I called United Express to see if they could get me an eta. They said the movers got delayed picking up another load and wouldn't be coming until the next day. What???? At 4pm the dispatcher from the actual moving company, told me they would be sending a U-Haul to pick up my load between 9 and 12 the next day and would transfer my things to one of their trucks. What???!! One of the questions I asked Andrew at United Express before committing to them was whether my things would be moved between trucks. He said absolutely not. When I called Andrew & Ryan at United Express about this neither answered and neither returned my call. Why would they? They had their money and they were done with me. On moving day, November 4, two trucks arrived around 11 to 1130am. I was told they would be loading my things on two different trucks and then putting them all on one truck heading to Florida. I was not happy, but again, at this point I had no recourse and no money would be refunded. As it turned out, the two trucks left and transferred things from one to another so that my things would fit on one truck. Thank you! They collected 1/2 of the balance after loading my things and the rest at the destination before they unloaded. By the way, United Express says that Zelle is a payment option. It is not! Gratefully, I had cash available. My advice is that you dont use a broker. United Express should be out of business. If you look at the reviews on Trust Pilot, they have 1's and 5's with nothing in between. The 5's are written by company employees They are not real. Even if a real moving company, not a broker gives you a higher quote, trust it. Don't be lured by promises of $1200, or the like, for a long-distance move form a broker. A broker has no stake in your satisfaction and no liability after they get your money. Just don't do it.

This has been a horrible experience

This has been a horrible experience from beginning to end to damages and after results. Never have I had a moving company with this many mistakes and unnecessary cost. Your sales agent convinced my dad he had a great deal - one bedroom move across state. I don’t even have a one bedroom. I have a studio!! we said one bedroom to give me additional space even tho I only had 12 large boxes 20x17x15 and 8 tiny boxes no bigger than a ruler. We had explained all inventory in my apartment. My apartment is small af in Los Angeles, no more then 300 sqt. They charge extra for stairs but won’t tell you until they arrive that you will have to pay for that right then and there. th no en they said I had over 500 sqt worth of stuff. All of my items alone fit in a standard bedroom. I moved to my parent house and all my stuff is literally in a bedroom that’s not bigger than 200sqft(LA housing is small). you charged additionally over 2000 more because you are saying that you don’t have space for my items in the truck and I have no choice but to pay now or leave California with the clothes on my back. Keep in my your stuff will be mixed with other customers and they do not know how to keep track of your items. Keep your on inventory list.We paid the additional amount. Sept 30- Oct 9th is how long it took. 7 of my items are damaged and/or missing. I had to watch the movers the entire time, micromanaging, because YOUR MOVERS showed up in flip flops dropping all of my items to the ground. This man put fragile items at the very very top of a box mountain he made on the trolly, just for it to fall all to the floor. Not one care. No customer service. Straight attitude. They gave me the wrong number for the claims department along with other peoples items that I caught quickly or else I would have had another customer headboard. You have 21 days to make a claim. It took me a week and a half just to get the right number and information. Also along with getting the right information, you can expect more attitude from customer service agents at UnitedWEMove. They contract to streamline moving that actually did the moving. Both business are horrible and did a terrible job.For the customer service supervisor that is so focused on being right tat every time I spoke I was interrupted and that said “i will put your complaint in but this won’t stop them from using that contractor” GOOD! Great! Can’t wait to see things go left for you! Go to pods go to uhaul or move the sh** yourself!

Our first move of significance…

This was our first move of significance and it should have never been handled the way this company operated and lied. Gave us one estimate and charged 3Xs more. I would definitely advise anyone planning a move, especially military members. This company intentionally didn't honor the services needed from the front office to the delivery driver. The less people using this company the better.

DON’T USE THIS COMPANY

DON’T USE THIS COMPANY! BIG MISTAKE! Really search for reviews BEFORE you agree to a contract with them. On the first call, they pressure you to “lock in the price” (yeah, right) and take a deposit that’s not refundable after 72 hours. They will low-ball the price just to get you hooked. Even if you later drop a service, it’s not refundable. At every step, you will be asked to pay more money. A few days before the move, there will be a “Quality Assurance” call to go over what you’re moving…this is the start of the “bait and switch”. Now you have more than they quoted initially, so more $$ is due. You’re already locked in to their contract and counting on them showing up on the planned date…so there’s no backing out without losing the thousands you paid up front, Then, the movers show up (2 men, NO iNGLES) and whine about “long carry, long carry” always looking for ways to extract more $$. The cubic feet that you paid for so far? Oh, that’s not enough! And when it’s loaded on the truck, your things are taking up so many “lines” (rows) on the truck even though what they’ve put on the truck is not stacked correctly. Now they are under a time crunch and will stack it better in the big moving truck. But you still owe more today. Ok, send me your Venmo link, which they did but when I tried to pay them, Venmo blocked my payment as a possible scam. Has that EVER happened to you? It’s been over three weeks with no communication and I have no idea how much more I’ll have to pay the driver to receive my belongings. Oh and Carl and Ryan who “you can ALWAYS call”, will NEVER pick up the phone again. And “United Express” is just playing off the familiarity of the REAL United Movers, but they are just brokers trying to sucker you into their non-refundable contract.

The company has a 72-hour cancellation…

The company has a 72-hour cancellation period in its contract. I didn't know that the sale of my house fell through during that time. I did send an email, but they said "that is not where the cancellation had to go." When the mover called me 4 days before the original move, it was days earlier than what I had wanted, and then I said I had canceled. I am still being charged and the dispute continues.I asked if they would apply the money to a future move and did not receive a reply.

If i could give zero stars I would

If i could give zero stars I would. they quoted us for 3 grand to move our stuff a few states away. Come moving day they doubled the price. They left a lot of our big furniture, if i wouldve known i couldve sold it. They left all my moms clothes! Now we have to have it mailed to us by a friend. They told us it would be delivered on a specific day and that if we didnt have an address by then , we'd have to get a storage unit. I gave them an address 3 Days later. Contacting them was and is still difficult because we have to go through a third party. Delivery day came upon us and no one shows. Contact the company. They say its in transit will arrive in 3 to 4 days and that the movers will contact us 24 hours prior. 3 days go by. Call again. They say its in transit will be there within 3-4 days. And they will contact us 24 hours in advance. 3 days go by. We call again. Now they say its in transit and will arrive before the end of the week. Call them again a few days later. Same thing. Will arrive by Sunday. Sunday comes. Still no word. Still no movers. Call on Monday and they tell us it will arrive Wednesday between 3-6pm. Didnt receive a 24 hr advance notice on tuesday so contacted them again to make sure. They still say it will arrive the next day between 3-6pm. Next day no movers. They say they are still within their delivery window. They said 6-21 days from pick up. No where on our paperwork does it say that. Its been 3 weeks and they're just now telling us this. We were told it would be delivered over 2 weeks ago. After reading other reviews. I dont know if we will even get our stuff. We are sleeping on air mattresses and weve had to purchase basic things, that we already have on a truck somewhere in the united states. We are stressed, we are worried. They had a 4 star rating , we should've dug deeper. I will be writing another review once we receive or dont receive our things. Dont use this company for long distance moving!

SCAMMERS - will charge you more on day of move

United Moving Express in coordination with A & S Moving and packing are companies who use extortion and unethical practices. I answered an ad online while I was looking for a moving company to move my things from Pleasant Hill, CA to Baton Rouge, LA. I was give an initial estimate of about $2300. I told United Moving express it was too much and I would do more research they came back and said if we can do your move for $1900 can we make a deal? I told them sure, that would be acceptable. So they gave me a binding moving estimate based on me telling them i have a standard-one bedroom apartment worth of furniture to move - a living room set with one couch and accent chair, a coffee table, side tables and bedroom furniture - a bed, side tables, a dresser and then some extra boxes for kitchen and bathroom things. all of which was in a 10x10 storage facility which was about 70% full. I told them all of this, they confirmed all these details over the phone and sent me the contract. On the day of the move the moving company loads half of my things, and then tells me they will need to charge me an extra $500 because it was taking up more space on the truck than the estimate. I told them they knew exactly how much space it would require. They told me they would not let me take the rest of my things until i paid. They extorted me for more money. When I called the brokerage company they said 1. their software was outdated so they couldnt account exactly for the amount of space they would need on the truck.2. that it didnt account for "non-standard" sized items. All of my items were standard size, nothing out of the ordinary. They knew exactly how much space it would take, but they gave me a fake amount on the initial contract, in order to take my deposit, knowing i would be charged a lot more on the day of the move by their partner company who extorted me and gave me no alternatives. They would take my money one way or the other; I either pay them to load the rest of the things on the truck or they would take all them money (deposit + half of the amount of the move) for labor of already loading half of my things on the truck then off if i chose to do so.On top of that, they also moved my things 3 weeks after they picked up my things. I was told they didnt know when it would come, they most of the time didnt answer the phone, and they refused to tell me where my items were. They showed up at 8 pm to deliver my things. DO NOT USE THESE SCAMMERS.

Deceptive

This company promises good rates and great service and delivers lies and additional charges. From failing to disclose that they are a moving broker (you should have read the consumer report) to changing the promised delivery date and passing you off to the customer service number of the 3rd party mover. It was a horrible experience and I wish we had just moved our stuff in a u haul. DO NOT HIRE THEM!!!

Every ‘one star’ review is 100%…

Every ‘one star’ review is 100% correct. They flat out lied to me about being a family owned moving company. Of course they aren’t going to let you know they are a broker. They purposely give you a low estimate to lock you into a deposit. And the moving company they sent was a nightmare to deal with. They were actually more dishonest, if that’s even possible. The company is currently under a new name, Moving Services NV, USDOT 4062804, located in Las Vegas NV. Their previous names were Alpha Moving Services, and Konami Moving and Storage. The owner, Aviv Mordechai was indicted a few years ago for moving fraud. He took a plea last Valentines Day 2025. The address under the current name on the BOL is a home address. Website is the same as their current name. If you look them up through the USDOT number, they already have a hostage complaint.

Save yourself some trouble!

The entire process was complicated, and I was tricked into closing every step of the move. I was "convinced" of the deposit, then they changed the date at least three times for pickup, and I had to change my flight twice. Halfway through the loading, they said my load was 1.5 times what was quoted (they didn't even have a measuring tape). I measured, and I was over by 20%. I had to pay double for the pickup; they fooled around for 12 days before giving me a delivery date. Finally, things arrived all banged up, I guess they are not movers, and they put your stuff in a warehouse while they consolidate shipments.Save yourself some trouble!

I had a terrible experience with this…

I had a terrible experience with this company. They misrepresented themselves as a moving company but are actually brokers, which they didn't disclose upfront. They charged a hidden broker fee, misleading me into thinking it was for the movers. When I raised concerns, they hid behind a vague contract.Pickup day was a nightmare. The promised arrival time of 9am to 1pm turned into 3pm. They charged $60 for a small lamp box and $100 for a TV box, which felt like robbery. Only half of my items were moved; I had to move the rest myself. The movers are contracted, so you end up agreeing to another "estimate." My original "Binding Estimate" of $900 ballooned to over $1900 for a few items. Delivery still has NOT been made. RUN!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!This company operates through deception, omission, and disorganization. Their contracts are intentionally vague, communication is nonexistent, and their practices are borderline fraudulent. Their space and mileage calculations are corrupt. Consumers should avoid this company and seek alternative services to avoid being deceived.

Buyer beware

This company misrepresented itself as a moving company when in fact it’s just a broker—something they deliberately failed to disclose upfront. Instead, they charged a hidden broker fee under the guise that the payment was going to the actual movers. What was quoted as a $1,695 move ultimately cost me $2,300. When I raised concerns about this blatant bait-and-switch, they tried to hide behind a vague, one-sided contract—as if a deceptive and incomplete document gives them carte blanche to exploit customers.Prior to the move, I attempted to update my inventory in writing—and was completely ignored. Then the movers they subcontracted arrived visibly frustrated that the inventory was inaccurate. That’s on the broker, not me. To make matters worse, I was explicitly told I’d receive my belongings within 5–7 days. The actual movers told me the realistic window was 21–30 days—another flat-out lie from this broker.Pickup day was another disaster. The movers arrived late, and in the confusion, took perishable goods I had set aside for a birthday gift—items that should never have been loaded. The movers themselves were professional and kind, but due to a clear language barrier (they spoke little to no English), I believe that’s how those items were mistakenly taken. Again, this falls squarely on the broker for failing to ensure clear communication and proper coordination. This company operates through misrepresentation, omission, and disorganization. Their contracts are vague by design, their communication is nonexistent, and their business practices border on fraudulent. Consumers should avoid this company at all costs, and I would strongly urge anyone considering them to seek alternative services before becoming the next victim of their deceit.
