Committed for life and want to get out!
We have been trying, unsuccessfully, to cancel our timeshare with this company. We bought the location @Parkway near Orlando, FL. Due to week trading & other awkward and difficult processes, such as start dates, available times, etc., we have been unable to use this timeshare. However, we can't cancel it. In fact, it gets willed to our child or some other relative. This is insane. FL laws are insane. We just want out of this timeshare. Writing reviews online hoping to get more attention from this company as they are consistently ignoring our attempts to cancel.

Negligent Behavior of Staff
Late the night before we were to check out 12/22/2022 at Vacation Village in Weston FL, the man at the front desk, located across Weston in another building, gave our room key to a couple who body slammed our room door at 1AM in the morning to get it open with a key, because we had it latched from inside. They then entered our room and refused to leave until I picked up the phone to call the police. They scared us to death. The police told us to report it to the front desk to alert security and make sure these people would not be back. Well, the man at the front desk wouldn't answer the phone for well over an hour. He evidently had turned all calls over to a recorded advertisement which played over and over. So, if you have an emergency, no one will be able to help you other than calling the police. There was no way to have someone from security alerted with the man at the front desk ignoring calls that night. So, at 2AM, exhausted and scared to death that these people had keys to our room and would be back, I went to the front desk across town in my nightgown and robe. He (fist name starts w/an R) stated that they no longer had my room keys, and blamed the system for noting my room as available. I asked him why he didn't call to make sure we were ok, and that we had been calling him for over an hour, and he claimed no calls had come in, and then he realized he had the phone turned to recordings. He refused to give us a later checkout time that day, being his negligence had kept us up for hours. He didn't seem to get how traumatizing this had been for myself and my husband being we are both handicapped and feared for our lives when these people exploded into our room in the wee hours of the morning. We talked w/his manager who wasn't very helpful. She offered us $30 for the inconvenience??? In fact, I noticed my review didn't even appear on the RCI Weston Vacation Village at Bonaventure site, so evidently they've possibly intentionally tried to hide this event from public view. This behavior all around is negligent. People need to be aware of security concerns & how badly staff behaved regarding this matter.

Vacation Village does not care about senior citizens
Vacation Village and Daily Management Association don't care about senior citizens. They just care about balancing their BUDGETI have a bad timeshare investment I made many years ago. I have not been able to use it for years due to health issues, and the co-signer passed away as well. I was not able to keep up with the yearly maintenance fees and other costs because I am on a fixed income. I contacted Vacation Village and the Owners Resolution Department said they would work with me if I had a financial and medical hardship. I provided a letter from my doctor proving that I am unable to travel and that I suffer from macular degeneration which is very bad and I need an assistant to help me with basic function like shopping and paying bills 3 days a week. I suffer from chronic rheumatoid arthirits and I am in a wheelchair because I have a misshapen foot and have had three reconstructive surgeries and may need to amputate. I sent this to the timeshare and they said they would release me from the contract, but they wanted me to pay $2600!!! Here is what Brandon Matos said to me in his letterWe had a meeting with the Board of Directors, and we were addressed the following offer: if clear title can be obtained In good faith of the documents, you have presented: you will need to pay the nonrefundable $1,500.00 settlement fee plus $1,060.00 (2021 maintenance fees and taxes). The required total is $2,560.00. The Association is only asking for the maintenance fees and taxes for 2021 and not the full past due balance. This cost will cover all the expenses involved with the documents needed to relinquish the property and help us balance the budget. Although I am pleased they are taking the situation seriously, I don't have that kind of money!! We paid off the loan of $10,000 years ago and over the course of 15 years only used this a couple of times. The Board of Directors cares more about their budget then just writing my contract and debt off. It is so easy and simple for them, but their actions and threatening letters and collection calls are devastating and I don't understand why they put profits above people.
