Actually would give a negative oneMy daughter Never got the tutor she was promised for college. She called several times that day she was promised a tutor and could not speak to anyone. She also texted them & they said they will provide her with one for this specific night before a test. Never got one. Try to cancel and almost impossible to reach someone Finally cancelled and never received my $639 dollars back yet Just emails saying we are looking into request Do not use this tutor service They will take your money immediately over the phone and not fulfill their promise I am now working with wonderful tutors at another company.

The tutors themselves are great but the company and their customer service sucks. Absolutely sucks. They don’t call back when they say they will, there are hidden rules around billing, and they do not offer refunds even if you are told there will be for hours that you asked to be paused. Just an absolute scam

It’s been very easy for Kyle
It’s been very easy for Kyle, my son to get support through Varsity Tutor. I have referred a couple of his friends to you also. He’s lucky to find 2 great tutors, one for math and the other for AP Bio. 💕 I wish there is more flexibility of rolling over the monthly classes. Sometimes, life gets in the way and it’s a bit stressful to remember if we finished using our monthly classes credits.

Patience and Encouragement
I really appreciate the patience and encouragement Ms. Cynthia gives my granddaughter. She gives her the confidence to try and not get frustrated. She keeps her engaged and takes the time to take a break and encourage her to talk of her day, activities or interests when she sees she is getting distracted.

Avoid the 20-minute sales trap
Avoid the 20-minute sales trap. Varsity Tutors uses high-pressure tactics to customize a program that isn't actually custom. They kept me on the phone for 20 minutes by probing into my fears about my child's academic future under the guise of personalized pricing. However, a friend called, spent only 5 minutes on the phone, and was quoted the exact same rates: $349 for 4 hours or $639 for 8 hours. The consultation is just an emotional play to get you to buy. Don't waste your time.

Never returning to this company again…
Never returning to this company again due to their billing shadiness. I paused a membership back in mid January of this year and noticed a charge on 2/24. When I called them to ask for a refund, they informed me that their policy is to - get this - pause for up to 30 days and then resume charging the account. No one explained this to me. In fact, when I contacted customer service, I wanted to cancel the account but was encouraged to just pause it. When I informed the agent, "I will reach back out to Varsity Tutors to cancel," at no time did he say, "Actually, our policy is that we will resume the membership after a 30 day pause." I informed the agent that Varsity Tutors needed to refund my money and his response is that it is Varsity Tutors' policy to make a "refund request" where my request is reviewed and then Varsity Tutors makes the determination as to whether or not they will refund. After the call with Varsity Tutors, I immediately called my bank to initiate a call back. I will never do business with this company again. They have clearly prioritized making money at any cost as opposed to operating with integrity.

They have called me more than once for weeks and when I called back to tell them I didn’t need their service, the lady hung up on me. Very unprofessional I would never recommend to anyone.
