Customer service absent, like why are you even calling?
The vet told me to order online for the prescription, saying that if I wanted it "tomorrow" I would need to pay for overnight shipping (this was on a Monday). I called the next day (Tuesday) to find out when to expect it, and it was "hopefully in 5 days" a Saturday. I actually received it the following Monday. This was an urgent prescription. The worst part was the blase response I got when I was clearly upset and concerned for my cat: "yeah, it's not ready. It will be a few days...yeah, I'm sorry. I don't know what to tell you, it will be a few days..." Her tone was the most unconcerned I've ever encountered. She didn't indicate that she even knew what my order was. It was like she was answering her roommate's phone and really didn't care if she relayed a message. It was definitely one of the more shocking experiences I've ever had. Just completely unconcerned.I encouraged my vet to opt for a local pharmacy next time because they will likely want to keep their clients happy

We were forced to use Blue Rabbit…
We were forced to use Blue Rabbit pharmacy through our veterinarian Burke Forest Vet in Springfiled VA. Simply put we have to use this service as the number of hoops tat we have to jump through to get a prescription filled requires multiple paper scripts to be sent via snail mail to the other on-line dispensaries. We found the cost to be much higher ($15/month ($30 from comparable on-line pharmacies vs the $46 that we were charged through Blue Rabbit a premium of 33% extra) to give our 15 year old labradoodle end of life care. That being said, while the initial prescription took some time to start (I had to purchase more directly form the vet at 3x the cost until the prescription was filled as it took about a week to come in), they were good with good notification of when they would charge my card on autoship. Unfortunately our big boy passed away last night and we had approximately half a bottle of medication plus a completely unopened bottle left. I asked for the possibility of returning the unopened bottle and was told that they only do returns within a 30 day window. Our dog passed away at 33 days and I called on day 34. The medication is unopened and has an expiry date of 1/2027! There is zero reason they could not accept it back and be lenient. I also pleaded my case as I am a furloughed Federal employee and have not received multiple paychecks, the $45 could have helped get food on the table, or helped pay electricity bills for my family.Given that the medication was charged at a premium, they claim exceptional service, the medication was unopened and did not expire for well over a year, I find the hiding being polity to be pathetic and completely non-empathetic to us the customer, and wasteful as the medication now needs to be disposed of. But hey, they did get their $46 from us.

First they “lost” the order…
First they “lost” the order. I had to call when the order stayed in the “ready to ship” status for 3 days. At that point they said they would expedite the order and ship it using shipping that would have it arrive in 1-2 days after shipping. Well it’s been 8 days since that call, and UPS says the medicine will arrive tomorrow 5 days after it shipped. Thats 8 days from my initial inquiry, which was 5 days after the prescription was called in, so we’re going on 14 days since the prescription was sent in. My pet needs his prescription, and is notably suffering because these guys cant get it together. After reading the other reviews, I don’t know how they stay in business. This is my last order with Wedgewood.

I hate this Pharmaceutical by Mail…
I hate this Pharmaceutical by Mail "service". I prefer walking out of the vet's office with medications in hand. It takes days for them to arrive by mail. And then they are sealed so tightly for transport it's impossible to open them. It seems some kind of special tool it needed. I may evemswitch vets if I have to deal with this every time a medication is needed.

Compounded meds wrong
Compounded RX for Trilostane to treat my dog's Cushings disease pushed her right into an Addisonian crisis which almost killed her. Would never order from them again.

NEGATIVE STARS
UPDATE 11/4/2024: Cody (Premium Services Manager at Wedgewood) reached out to me immediately to review and attempt to resolve this issue on Nov 1st. He explained that he has since talked to a manager of the employee that misspoke on the unavailability of prescription bottles as the statement wasn't true. He did state that they lack proper notifications to customers and they are working to resolve that so that there is opportunity to find an alternative solution faster. I did explain that I found many reviews with similar issues and hope that they work to resolve both the shipment delay of timely medicine as well as lack of notifications of delays. He had already worked in the background prior to his call to do everything he could to get the medication out sooner and had it overnighted for next day delivery at Wedgewood's expense. I had informed him that I had already secured an alternate pharmacy to deliver right away, but since Cody appeared to truly right this wrong, I accepted the offer to get the medication the next day. I did receive it promptly by UPS around 8:30am the next day. I am revising my rating from 1 to 3 stars for the effort and actually getting my cat's chemo medication to me the next day even though it was 2 days overdue. I really hope Wedgewood works to prevent these types of issues in the future. For now, I will offer the second chance. Thank you to Cody for actually caring.NEGATIVE STARS! I have had issues with backorder items in the past for my equine needs but this recent issue is absolutely absurd and uncalled for. I set my cat's chemo prescription to auto ship. A week goes by and I've seen no update since I placed the order besides that they got my order. At a week (Mon), I call about the order status and am told it can take up to 5-6 business days before it ships. I understood this but was disappointed that this time around it was taking longer vs. within 3 days the prior time. They said it should ship by that Wed so I requested a next day shipping as my cat would need her medication on Thursday. They put me on with a pharmacist, and they said they couldn't do anything at the moment as it was made up and was in packaging. They said they would add the next day shipping at no charge as she said she preferred her blood levels remain consistent and at the latest I would get it Friday, a day late.I receive no notifications of shipment on Wednesday and recheck on Thursday am (31st). The order now states delayed. I call them back and there is an automated message for my order that the order wouldn't be shipped until over a week later (8th of following month) and that the agents wouldn't have any other information regarding this. I proceed to talk to someone in person and describe what I was told on Monday and asked what the problem is as my cat is due for her chemo pill today. She puts me on with a supervisor, and they proceed to tell me that the empty bottles they fill the prescriptions with are on back order and it would be 2 to 3 business days before the order could be completed. I was dumbfounded. I asked why they couldn't obtain a temporary set of the medication bottles that you can buy at any pharmacy, and they said it was done by machine and would mess up their counts! They had no system in place for providing a backup method nor were they willing to. Not only did someone drop the ball on something as crucial as having enough empty medicine bottles to actually process orders, they also had no backup supply....AND weren't willing to process anything manually. I tolerated Wedgewood's problems with my equine needs in the past, but not being able to give my cat her chemo medication for over a week is completely unacceptable. In addition, I received NO notifications on this delay at all. I had to take the time to check online and wait to talk to someone on the phone to ask. I am currently investigating being able to have this compounded through Chewy's pharmacy, and if I can, I am dropping Wedgewood. I will be checking if I can do this for the other medication I have with them as well.

Horrible
Horrible, just Horrible. I ordered my birds medication Haldolperidol in plenty of time. First time using this pharmacy. They know I'm in Florida and the medication should Not reach over 86 degrees. Every other pharmacy that I have ordered from ships her medication in Styrofoam with several ice packs. Received her medication today and heat gun i have to check temperature on it was 95 degrees!! It should not be stored over 86 degrees maximum!! It was Only packed in a cheap plastic bag, no ice packs. Called to explain and pharmacist there told me medication should be fine..Are you Kidding me?? No it's not fine and not risking my 13 year old Cockatoo's life over it. I explained I wanted them to expedite her medication and ship it with ice packs and Styrofoam container..The sad answer I received is "That's not our protocol" I have had to reorder her meds now from another pharmacy that understands temperature control for meds..it takes minimum of 10 days for this compound medication so now I am worried I won't get them in time. So Very disappointed. I will never use this pharmacy again!

Avoid Wedgewood Gourmeds
Do not let your veterinarian sell you on the Wedgewood Gourmed line of medications, at least for your cat. No matter how the company tries to hype it, cats are not going to think it is a treat and absolutely will not eat it. First time I opened the bottle, I immediately knew no cat I have ever owned would eat those pills. They are too large, reek of medication, and any flavoring they may have is more like a slight suggestion of chicken or tuna. Imagine crumbly Tums that have been dipped in weak, watery bouillon. An expensive waste of time and effort. Don't bother.

Poor communication from this company
I received a text message from wedgewood pet pharmacy at 12:35 a. m. The text woke me up & I was beyond frustrated. What company in their right mind sends out text messages in the middle of the night ?!!! Then, when they did call & left a voicemail, the call back number they left had too many numbers & obviously didn’t work. Not impressed with this company.

I had a bad experience with Wedgewood…
I had a bad experience with Wedgewood and I would go through any other company at this point. They charge an extra $30 promising one day delivery but then when it comes 2+ plus days later, they say "well, it's actually one day plus however long it takes us to make the medication". I requested a refund of the $30 extra charge and they refused.

HUGE WARNING ABOUT Wedgewood Pharmacy
HUGE WARNING ABOUT Wedgewood PharmacyFirst of all: Yes you read right: Wedgewood Pharmacy takes the risk of death.Story:A very important “under subscription” heart medication with a final order confirmation was not delivered. After 11 Days waiting time (my dog need 1 1/2 Pills each day) was the info: out of stock. Than I walked with my Dog the animal hospital and spend $345.02 for the heart problem again. Answer from a Wedgewood Pharmacy Employee over the phone: We can't say anything about that. Your problem.Several e-mails and chats remain unansweredMy recommendation: Stay away from this dubious Pharmacy. You or your pet may die as a result. Maybe the press is interested in this case. Unacceptable in every way
I am posting this review anywhere and everywhere I can find. We are VERY dissatisfied with this pharmacy!! We paid over $70 for unusable medication (unable to attach picture) plus we had to wait an unacceptably long time. Our cat has cancer and we were starting to wonder if she would still be alive by the time this pharmacy got off its ass. For her first dose of the "liquid", it was actually just a blob of brown paste. In hindsight, we're now concerned that she either got an overly concentrated dose or not enough since it was definitely not an oil suspension. Because of her not being correctly dosed either way, she stopped eating and we actually had a euthanasia appointment scheduled; however, our vet wanted to try adding Cerenia first - THANKFULLY. This pharmacy's negligence literally almost killed our cat. I would not use them again, nor do I recommend them for anyone who loves their pet.

Buyer beware!
Needed a liquid antibiotic for my dog. It wasn’t in stock anywhere locally. Vet had it ordered here. I paid an extra $30 for 1-day shipping. Order was placed in the evening so I waited until the next day in hopes I’d get a shipping update and have the medicine within 2 days of ordering. When I didn’t receive an email about shipping I called and was told it would take 17 DAYS before it shipped, but good news I paid for 1day shipping so once they have it it’ll only be a day more to get it! Frustrated with that and the need to get my dog on this antibiotic sooner than later for her well-being, I called my vet back asking for additional help to find this medication somewhere else or to get a different medication. They were able to switch to a different antibiotic. So the day after being told it would take 17 days for Wedgwood to fill this I had a medication locally in hand. At this point I called Wedgwood to cancel the order that was suppose to be more then 2 weeks out, to be told it’s shipped and cannot be cancelled. So now I’ll have double the antibiotics needed and I’m out $90 because Wedgwood has no idea what they are doing apparently and offered no solution for the contridiction in there information.

Forget Wedgewood - find another
It's difficult to put into words that can be printed in a public forum on just how disappointed I am with Wedgewood Pharmacy. I would award them zero stars if possible. Thus far, we are still awaiting the medications for two cats - the medication is Metronidazole and we placed the first order, via our VCA veterinary clinic, Jan 18, 2024. At the time of that order only one of our cats was infected. It is presently, January 26 and that order has still not been fulfilled. Meanwhile, we discovered that on Jan 22/2024, our other cat was now infected with the same virus and a second order for Metronidazole was created. Still waiting for that order. In the meantime, our cats are suffering from diarrhea and we are suffering from that too. It's a challenge cleaning up after them and I truly feel bad for how they are suffering.Going via mvca.com or vetsource for status is also a complete waste of time as it seems like these sites are never updated correctly - wrong shipping information for example or responses such as "prescription is in fulfillment". Always the same status - "prescription is fulfillment. Forget about phoning Wedgewood - the line is always busy. Finally, out of frustration, I went through Wedgewood's chat assistance (January 24). The person I txt'ed with at Wedgewood was very sympathetic and seemingly helpful - she even got my order upgraded, for free from 2 day expedited shipping to overnight and, in addition, had my order prioritized to "urgent". Despite this encouraging development, here i am, as stated at the outset of this review, January 26 and no sign of medications. My commitment to Wedgewood and anyone reading this review, is that I will NEVER do business with this organization again.

Questionable practices
Prices have doubled for Chlorambucil (a cancer drug for my pet) over the past year. Now, for this refill, they claim some of my pills will expire before the Use By date of May 18 2024 because they're working through old stockpiles of this med (1K+ pills left since their last compounding). I tried to get a discount on the pills since some would expire before we got through the bottle. They wouldn't do it. I tried to get freshly compounded pills. They wouldn't do it. Finally they deducted the shipping cost, but this is ridiculous. Why would you require people to pay in full and shipping pills that you KNOW will expire before they're all used?? You created this situation, Wedgewood. Not "new FDA rules" as you claim. They never sent an email about the updated rules either. Checked my spam folder. Sounds like poor business practices at best and illegal at worst.

Poor Service No Sense of Urgency
Why do vets keep choosing this awful company?? They take so long to fill a prescription. so so long. I would not recommend this to anyone!

Who needs a script 2-3 weeks after the vet calls it in? Ridiculous customer service and over the top prices. If you need it sooner, expect to pay $$$. Crazy rip off prices. They take advantage of your love for your pet by sticking it to you, along with almost every vet I have ever seen. Sad, mad world.
