If I could give minus stars I would. Ive found out the accident i had nearly 2 years ago has been blamed on me, despite me having cctv footage of the accident showing the wagon indicating right and then turning left and taking my front end off. This clown company didn't even bother to view the cctv footage from the garage where it occurred. Im off to seek legal advice and also contact the insurance ombudsman.

Absolutely diabolical service, still chasing a result from an accident where the Law Court found in my favor an awarded full costs to me and my insurance company, with the other party accepting full liability. Westbay have withheld the monies paid via the Solicitors, I have received my excess back, however Westbay are still in denial, shockingly unprofessional behaviors and bordering on fraud.

Omg, got written off nearly a year ago, no fault. A guy lost a wheel on his van and crashed into ME! Just gone to re insure to find out this company haven't closed the claim, put me at fault and its affected my no claims, absolutely unbelievable. Police attended, guy got a driving course. Lost for words! Over an hour 20 minutes on phone to receive a message to say my car wasn't damaged, and I don't need to make a claim, or to ring a number if I do. Its been like talking to a 1 year old. I can not believe a company is able to act this way. Now off to speak to the ombudsman and solicitor!

Murky , underhanded and deceitful group of companies. Who are west bay? it’s a USA insurance outfit. I took my policy out with the household name SWINTON IN THE UK. I had no idea who Markerstudy were or west bay. Put my claim in because my new roof had succumbed to wind and rain and my claim is turned down with no evidence from them at all. Belligerent staff insulting me when I called. I am a 68 year old disabled widower and for two months I have had to tolerate rain coming into my home from my ceiling. I am insured ,but what for? They just pluck excuses not to pay out of thin air. It’s made me severely depressed listening to rain every night dripping. It’s water torture. Do they care. Do they hell. 100 % justified claim , but they are not budging. sent them evidence of lifting roof, wind speed 60 mph, wind direction totally ignored my desperate cries for help. Inhuman .

I insured my vehicle with the RAC because of their name, wrongly thinking they would offer a great service but NO, they weren't interested and gave me the underwriters phone number, WEST BAY/MARKERSTUDY, never ever have I dealt with such cowboys, I complained to the RAC as it was them I paid but they couldn't help, West Bay told me my car was a right off without even seeing a photo, when challenged, they said parts were hard to come by given its age, its 12 years old with extremely low milage. October 2023 was when the accident occurred, my vehicle was fixed in January 2024, I was refused a courtesy car, Enterprise then called me to see if they could give me a car but because I had been told it was a fault claim they couldn't offer one either. Neither of us were at fault, the highways confirmed and sent an email confirming that traffic lights were not working, we both left on a green light thus causing the accident, how is this a fault claim? I received a letter which stated I should of taken more care, you go on a GREEN light. I was told to go to Richardsons the nominated garage to see if the car could be repaired, on arrival, I was told by a lady eating crisps on reception that I was early and the surveyor was at lunch, not a problem, waited, tried to make conversation and was pretty much ignored, made to feel like an inconvenience, the surveyor took all of five minutes to look at the car and said he couldn't tell me anything, it was a bumper for goodness sake. I got a quote from an independent garage who were eventually approved after me calling them again for an update, the garage was challenged saying it should be written off, West Bay were told that a payout would be less than the car was worth. Over three months to get a bumper fixed?, I wouldn't recommend anyone to use the RAC or any other broker that uses West Bay/Markerstudy, their staff do not give out their surnames, not allowed to WHAT? minus 0 out 10 would be given and that is generous

Worst scamming insurance company ever! Do not go with them. Had an accident 3 months ago now. Was not my fault. My insurance company are trying to get hold of them and they are not responding or nothing. I’m now having to go through my own insurance company. I am not giving up with this and will be taking them court to name and shame them.

West Bay Insurance, Marker Study Zenith - whatever badge they now wear do not go anywhere near these people - you just cannot get a quick result and it ends up costing YOU. We were hit whilst parked by a Third Party sent all the claims forms in etc. and supporting images and it took from 3 September 2022 -until 27 October 2023 to be sorted as they logged it as an 'Our Fault claim' due to that our insurance has gone from around the £200 mark up to £808.18 due to their incompetence. Cannot get through on the phone always send you e-mail with a 'No reply e-mail' address - if you are lucky to get in a queue as soon as you get through to the correct department - you get cut off. Check and double check when you renew to make sure you don't get lumbered with these incompetent legalised thieves

I can only assume that West Bay insurance are the most inept, unresponsive and inefficient company operating in the UK. My only surprise is that they have not been investigated for their complete failure to process claims efficiently. I have now waited four months for a claim involving their client to be resolved. They refuse to take phone calls from other insurers and fail consistently to respond promptly to any email queries. This is without doubt the most appalling business approach I have ever experienced. Full liability was accepted by them over two months ago, they dragged their feet over getting the car to a garage. Then having completed the inspection they now refuse or simply forgot to send the report to my insurers. This company is a complete joke. I feel that reporting them to the Financial Conduct Authority is the only way to bring their shoddy business practices to a wider audience.Adrian Donaghey

Have just received my annual car insurance renewal invitation. The increase over 2022 = over 100%.This sort of increase cannot be justified considering my risk is low - have max + no claims and my annual mileage is around 4k.West Bay do not allow any Avenue to discuss this issue.I shall endeavour to raise this type of hype with the Insurance Ombudsman. Original iansurance last year was £132.15p, the new quote is £395. Three times the first year. My car is 29 years old, I travelled just over 3000 miles, no claims made, clean license, 10 NCD.Why the increase by 3 times, well they have just lost another customer.

I wish I had read this before I insured, I also blame the broker Devitt for encouraging trade with them. When I changed my motor bike to a fairly similar model WestBay refused to transfer the amount over and it became forfeit. I must confess that was really convenient for Devitt as they then found another insurer charging more than twice as much. Not a good example of an insurer nor a broker as I found a much better deal on comparethemarket. As everyone has said - give them a wide berth.

Westbay insurance plc is part of markerstudy and also now runs the coop insurance brand, but I see that westbay is unclaimed on trust pilot! Most likely to avoid the connection, I shall be shortly writing about the unacceptable experience I have undergone. Markerstudy has a poor rating and a 91% 1 star rating and in my opinion is to be absolutely avoided.!!!

My daughter had the misfortune to be hit by one of their insured drivers, they are impossible to talk to and even company to company they are slow/reluctant to follow procedures and put people in unnecessary stressful situations with delaying tactics.
