Deposit Protection Scheme help

Long story short: I had a terrible landlord who half-arsed everything so, when it came to moving out, it was Jack’s complete lack of surprise that he hadn’t protected my deposit. I contacted Tenant Angels and they put me in touch with Whitestone Solicitors. They did all the legwork and found out that my landlord breached the DPS law three times! Three! Landlord accepted the breach and settled for damages equalling the deposit x2 for each breach. Solicitor will take 25% as their fee and I get the rest in my bank account just in time for Christmas.If you know for sure or even suspect that your landlord hasn’t protected your deposit, I can’t recommend Tenant Angels or Mohammed at Whitestone Solicitors enough. I know nothing of the legal system and they took care of everything. 25% as a fee was absolutely worth it.

Absolutely shocking service

Absolutely shocking service. Used for a Nationwide remortgage. Solicitor was completely uninterested u helpful and did not provide any correct advice. I have done remortgages previous to this and never had issues. I can’t even see them doing any of the work and will have to move to a different solicitor. Avoid at all cost.

Great service... in spite of difficult buyer

Great service.... Initially I had express concerns about pricing, however this was resolved and in no way affected the service Whitestone provided.. I was lucky to find them via legal brokers.Indeed, Tegan who was handling the sale of my property was extremely professional and attentive.. I faced multiple issues which she calmly navigated and provided very sound advice. whilst buyer's solicitors were reluctant to engage by "picking up" a phone, Tegan was the exact opposite. When chased by my estate agent, I could confidently "bat it back" to them to go and chase buyer.. Well done Tegan....I have read previous review and whilst I did have to chase on occasions, I found out that the delay was at the buyer's end.. Also if you send an email, you normally had a reply within the hour.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID, don’t waste your time with these solicitors

Instructed these solicitors on 1 August 2022 to deal with conveyancing on a property I would like to purchase. I went through Legal Brokers, explained what I need and especially that I needed solicitors who would act fast and alway keep you in the loop. Legal brokers recommended Whitestone.Got everything they required from me over to them within a few days and then the wait began. I never hear from them. I had to chase up every step of the way. They didn’t even bother to carry out the searches, something that is usually one of the first things solicitors do.I had a survey carried out and report sent to them with a list of things my solicitors need to ask the sellers. I don’t think they bothered reading it. Again I had to copy these queries and put it into an email for them to send to the vendors.I could go on and on about their failures. 12 weeks on, I haven’t even signed a contract. I am due to travel in a week so it’s become extremely stressful. I am afraid the seller might even consider selling to someone else.There’s no chain involved and no mortgage/banks either so this should have been one of the easiest transactions. Please do yourself a favour and find better solicitors (ideally one local to you). I am so disappointed and so stressed out and they don’t even seem to care.
