I have been ordering from Christian Book Distributors for years. This past Christmas, one item was on backorder for quite a while. I was updated frequently and given a refund opportunity multiple times. The prices here are competitive and the customer service is good. I did join their rewards program, but found it to be a poor use of my funds. I was able to cancel without issue. I will order from them again!

I have been ordering from them for many reviews so I am shocked to see the low rating. Most recently I' made an order and realized That somehow the quantity of books that ended up on the final order was wrong. I then ordered the other books as they were for a Bible study but called them to see if they could combine the orders. They could not but they shipped the other books needed for free. That's what I call customer service

I order a Bible from them and was asked to sign up for a rewards program, nothing was said about a fee or cost until I see they charged my credit card for 16.95 a month later.This company is as crooked as can be for the only rewards was the one they gave themselves for a one time purchase, they get to keep my rewards to them for evidently $16.95 a month

I give then 1 star only because it was the only way I could write this review. My first purpose for ordering my book here was so I could support a Christian business. I ordered my boo on Jan. 7 and kept being told it was on backorder all the way out to Mar. 3, so I thought I would do a google search to find that the SAME book was available immediately from Amazon, Walmart, and even the Satanic Target. I notice now that they have numerous problems with delivering things ontime, so I will not go back.

An Age Old Scam!
I bought two Bibles from them that should be here any day now. This morning I see a $16.95 charge from "Christian Book Rewards". I have unfortunately seen this scam before. Lucky I caught it on the first charge! I called and they said how sorry they were, that was so nice! But, now I have to wait three days for them to put my money back, bless their hearts. It is a shame as I thought the Bibles were a great deal, but they just lost all of my future business, due to their unscrupulous at best business practices..

BEWARE OF CHARGES YOU DIDN'T AUTHORIZE
We ordered small garden flags. We noticed we were being charged $16.95 per month. When we called, they were charging us a monthly membership fee we never signed up for or wanted. We will be "reimbursed" any monies not used. Thought we would support a Christian store. BEWARE of extra charges

Doesn’t honor overnight shipping
I ordered 4 bibles and I paid $40 extra for overnight delivery. They shipped the package Friday morning but informed me that delivery would not be overnight but Monday. They shipped with FedEx and FedEx 100% delivers on Saturdays. They refuse to issue a refund for the $40 and therefore the case is closed.

Order History first over 2 decades vanished
I have been an avid customer of CBD for over 3 decades. I visited the Peabody, Ma store on an annual basis. I have spent thousands of dollars with CVD, purchasing over 30 personalized Bibles for special individuals. I have order many Session and DVD study guide series for group studies. Not to mention other items for communion, bible covers, pamphlets etc... Yes, well spent money to expand the gospel. I had 2 different accounts with CBS. One is my personal account under my name that still exist, and my buisness account under OSB. My frustration and disappointment came today when I reached out to CBD to re-order a a based study and series complete kit. I was told the company could only go back to 2020 on my personal orders and the business account OSB no longer existed and could not be found in their system. The business account was where the majority and major products were purchased and the most money spent. Now here today there is no history that I have invested all this money into this "Christian" organization. Very disappointing. No history. Thank God I kept every receipt but it's disheartening that the CBD don't have an archive system. Tell me your thoughts on this situation. 🙏🏾🫶🏾🙂

Books were shipped as ordered 2 years ago when ordering. Took extra time but no big deal, however, recently realized I was being charged for a membership for the last TWO YEARS!! Husband does bills and thought charge was charity donation due to “Christian” name. How unscrupulous, immoral, unethical and certainly unchristian!!!

they are a terrible business to do business with. You would think they are a Christian company but they do not act like a Christian co. They have no conscience about selling you Bibles that they have on back order for over a year. I ordered over 100 Bibles for outreach and they have delayed them at least 5 times . it is going on 13 months! No concern for the ministries and they will not substitute anything in their place.

Shipping is horrible, it takes a super long time before getting your items. So, if you want something for a Sunday school lesson better order a month in advance.

Praying for them
I ordered a gift for Mother's Day, 2-day shipping popped up as an option to be delivered the day before, so it was perfect timing! Their website offered it and generated the Saturday date, I didn't assume it would be delivered Saturday, the website said it would be. You can guess, it didn't come on Saturday and it generated a Monday delivery date, the day AFTER Mother's Day, after I placed the order and had paid the $12.99 for it to come in time for Mother's Day. So I contacted them and told them what happened, that now I would not have a gift to give my mom on Mother's Day, and I would like a refund for the difference on the shipping. She replied that it was after hours and shipped the next day so I would still be getting it in 2 days (Sunday doesn't count) with no acknowledgement of what I said about not having a gift now, or that there was a problem with the website. I told her again that the website said it would be delivered on Saturday and could I please have a refund of the difference. She said no, it was still coming in the 2 day time period and to let her know if it didn't arrive by then. So I asked for her supervisor who repeated what she said. I replied that it wasn't about the money, it was about their website not working properly. I also told her that I was surprised at the lack of compassion and understanding from a Christian company and that secular companies actually want to keep their faithful customers and bend over backwards to do so. I also said, next step...negative review. THEN I got response that the difference would be refunded to me. Because they did promise the refund, I gave them 3 stars instead of one. Hopefully, they will make changes to their website and the way they treat customers. And I am convicted that we need to pray for them and not just complain. I make mistakes, too, and am far from perfect. And who knows what is going on in the lives of those who make decisions. I am realizing that people in pain do painful things. So pray with me for them.

Reward Program Complaint
I have used Christian books for years and was pleased with their products. In December 1924 I ordered from them, and it appears that since that time they have been charging me $16.95 a month for a rewards program I did not sign up for. It appears there is nothing one gets nothing in return for this charge. You have several complaints about this situation on Trust Pilot and there is page after page on the Better Business Bureau site. It appears that Christian Books has done nothing about this problem. If I accidentally signed up for this program I had no awareness that it was a charge for me rather than a reward to me for my rather large purchases from them. This is not a trustworthy company.

Terrible shipping and communication
Terrible shipping and communication. I’ve been trying to resolve an issue with my order. There’s been a shipping delay and re-routing without any communication or effort on the company’s part to resolved the matter. It went from MA, to Jersey City, back to MA. It seems to be touring the east coast meanwhile the company cannot even do anything to help resolve it. All they could say was to wait and there was nothing they could do. I won’t be ordering from this company anymore. I’d stick with Amazon and pay any higher price atleast they support customers first.

I ordered a bible from South Africa and after 6 weeks it still hadn't arrived, so I emailed customer service and they replied that they sent a replacement right away. It's been a few months now and I still haven't received my order.

I paid almost $14.00 for these studies to arrive in a 3-day period and it was a false advertise. My bible studies arrived 8 days later.
