Big shout out to Luis G for solving my SSL configuration issue.Their customer service is always on point. Fast & helpful. I've been a client of there for close to a decade at this point I believe, and I've never had any issues with them. Their interface has improved over the years and their prices have always stayed close to the same. Great host and the only one I recommend when asked!
I was errantly billed after changing services. There was a last step of deleting your old server that I was not made aware of. When I noted the unfairness of that after deliberation, they recognized the error and took responsibility.
Dreamhost basically offers a good service and a nice support team. However, they have a problem regarding e-mails. Probably too much effort to not allow any spam to go through leads to many falsely positive spam assumptions and thus an unreliable e-mail system. A fact that was pointed out in the past by several Dreamhost customers already. So, it is not the provider who can guarantee that automatically created e-mails will be sent without issues. But if e-mails are not important for you, the rest of the service is good and you get a friendly support team. So, then it would be the right choice for you.

I had a major problem, and didn't get my hopes up because it happened late on a Friday. But Sneyder contacted me very quickly, giving me options for how I would like him to proceeed, which I very much appreciated. And the next thing I knew, the issue had been found and solved. How does it get better than that.

Website ssl expired. Tried to renew. No joy. Evidently the godaddy dns was pointing at an old ip. Updated dns. Dreamhost support fixed it right afterWebsite up and secured

DreamHost charged my credit card $35.40 without authorization and is now denying a refund. I have contacted their support team, but the issue remains unresolved. Please be cautious to avoid similar treatment.
We're in our 9th year of using Dreamhost to host our website and have been extremely pleased with it overall. One of the things that drew us in was the ability to ssh into our shared server to debug things, and to rsync content there (being unix command-line types—though Dreamhost has alternatives for GUI-oriented people as well). We've stuck around largely to the great customer service and the assistance in keeping website tech up-to-date with recent versions of software. The user console and knowledge base are both well-designed and valuable resources as well.
I've been with Dreamhost for a year or so now. I host one flat HTML page, and two WP sites there. I use a custom theme builder on both WP sites, so they're kind of "heavy" for shared hosting. I get penalized a little bit by google for the site speed, but for the absolute bargain basement price I'm paying- I kind of expect it. As soon as I can I'm going to upgrade to a faster package. I've never had availability problems with the site being unreachable or down or anything like that. I've reached out to customer service a couple times and I get a prompt response and accurate solutions / advice. I recommend the hosting whenever someone brings it up.
