don't work with the lowest scam of insurance
They increased my rate mid-year, and, of course, I had to wait 1 hour on hold to understand why. The first person couldn’t see why it changed, and the second one was so unhelpful that she couldn’t find an answer, so she put me back to start all over again. The third person I am talking to cannot see the changes in the policy... don't use them, find a better insurance.

I’ve had a very frustrating and disappointing experience with Economical Insurance. My claim was delayed for a long time, and during the period I needed help the most, no one properly followed up or returned my calls. The customer service was unprofessional and unresponsive.I filed multiple complaints, and they even forced me to create a new claim number more than twice. The person named Sarah, who was handling my file, did not follow up at all and simply told me she couldn’t help me.They also took away my rental car while I still had no vehicle, and the amount they offered for my total loss was much lower than the actual value of my car. Even after many discussions with the manager, nothing was resolved, and I was left with a very small payment — not even enough to buy a similar car.I am extremely dissatisfied and plan to file a formal complaint against this company. I would never recommend Economical Insurance to anyone.

My first claim with Economical Insurance and immediately turned down. And rightfully so, due to a clause that was not covered in policy. What gave me a bad experience though was their explanation of 'hit & run'. Nancy @ Definity (Economical Insurance Underwriter) insisted a hit and run can be covered IF I can identify the third party. Wait a minute ... but is it not the very definition of hit & run that I dont know who did it? If I did, it wouldn't be a hit & run now would it! lol :)

MY NAME IS FRANCIS AND I HAD A ACCIDENT WHICH I WAS NOT AT FAULT ON MARCH 6TH 2025. I AM WRITING THIS REVIEW AFTER 7MONTHS OF WAITING ON THIS COMPANY AND TILL DATE I HAVE NO RESOLUTION FROM THEM .THEY HAD GIVEN ME A DEVALUED AMOUNT FOR THE CAR AND I DECLINED AND THAT IS WHERE MY STRUGGLE STARTED WITH THIS INSURANCE.WHEN THEY WERE ADVISED OF THE ACCIDENT THEY ASKED ME TO PROVIDE MORE THAN 14 DOCUMENTS WHICH DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE CLAIM FOR EXAMPLE MY BANK STATEMENTS ,CREDIT STATEMENTS , PHONE STATEMENTS , RENTAL AGREEMENT , LETTER OF EMPLOYMENT , UTILITY BILLS , DRIVER LICENSE OF ALL THE MEMBERS OF MY HOUSEHOLD , MY OWNERSHIP , DRIVER LICENSE , 4 CORNER PICS OF THE CAR BEFORE AND AFTER THE ACCIDENT THIS IS JUST TO NAME A FEW .I HAD TWO ADJUSTER ASSIGNED TO MY CASE ONE CALLED SHAWN , OVER SEVERAL WEEKS HE PROVIDED ME THE UNDERVALUED AMOUNT AND WHEN I DECLINED THE CASE WAS TRANSFERED TO CELINA LAYTON. WHICH SHE IS INCHARGE OF IT TILL DATE AND STILL HAVE NOT COMPLETED MY CASE. SHE DOES NOT RESPOND TO EMAILS WITH A REASONABLE TIME LIMIT AND IT TAKES MORE THAN 72HOURS TO GARNER AN ANSWER FROM HER AND EVEN WHEN SHE ANSWERS SHE IS NOT HELPFUL BECAUSE ALL SHE ADVISE IS THAT ITS UNDER INVESTIGATION.FOR THE 5MONTHS I HAVE BEEN PAYING RENTAL COMPANYS EVERY WEEK WHILE STILL TAKING CARE OF MY CAR NOTE PAYMENTS BECAUSE I DONT WANT MY CREDIT TO BE AFFECTED . Can Not Contact
Called with a question about my policy. The number they gave me on the policy to call was a fax number. Looked up a phone number on line and that was disconnected. Called the payment number on the policy hoping to speak with someone but that is an automated number that will only let you pay your bill. Called a local broker and that line was out of service. Looked on line again and found a number for a different province and called that. They tried to get me numbers but unfortunately they were the numbers that already didn't work. They then used an internal number to connect to a local office. They were put on hold and came back on the line to me and said they would transfer me to that line and I would have to wait for someone to answer. I waited 37 minutes and finally hung up in frustration.

Horrible, and very Un-economical!I reported recent water damage, they declined my claim and canceled my policy - what is the point of insurance if they just collect your money for themselves, but never cover anything? How can we make them more accountable?

An insurance company is only as good as…
An insurance company is only as good as when they handle your claim. We had damages due to the ice storm on March 29, 2025. In Ontario, assigned to an adjuster in New Brunswick. First call from adjuster, call me in 3 to 5 days. Could not get a call through to New Brunswick, dropped or disconnected. Asked for a new adjuster. Got one in Ontario. Received an email. Have continually sent emails with pictures outlining the damage. Roof repair is required, approval of damaged items is required. I have further expenses as well. Only one response regarding the tree sitting on my shed. Other emails are ignored regarding damage to the security system, and solar lights. Have another bill to submit just waiting on the estimate. Adjuster sent Pure Clean Restorations here to view the roof. No date regarding repairs. Pure Clean has never come to view the additional damages. Adjuster is Crawfo.co. Not impressed. Stay away from Economical and their adjusters. Once I get through this nightmare, I will be looking for another insurance company. According to my neighbour, TD Insurance is great. Her repairs have already been completed.

Economical Insurance is not a reliable provider
Economical Insurance is not an insurance provider you should consider for coverage. They just sent me a registered letter telling me my home insurance is cancelled 2 months before my renewal. I had some home damage with ice buildup on my roof this winter and developed a leak into our home. We called to open a damage claim but after resolving the issue ourselves we did not pursue the claim. The repairs are minor so we felt we could make the repairs below our deductible cost of $1000. They were told this before they sent us the cancellation letter. We also have 2 vehicles insured with them. I am not using this company ever again. I can't imagine if we had a big claim, how they would handle it. Stay away from this company. Most of the reviews I have read report customer service delays and bad/slow service. If they cancel your policy after a small claim don't expect a fair assessment or compensation.

I would really like to thank Christine Harbine, as she was very helpful and respectful she was able to answer all of my questions and even assist me in getting a quite so that i could have a genral idea of the changes that would be affecting my policy later on while reminding me that the quite may change as the changes wont be put in place until later in the year. she was very well spoken and very friendly while on the phone and was able to let me know everything I needed to know with out getting frustrated with me. Worst insurance company hands down I’ve ever read about, heard about and sadly had myself. Claims adjuster Neena Edward’s, a complete joke and took over 2 or even 3 weeks to get back to me after an accident. I had to run around myself and give my own money to obtain a rental after an accident as well. Things didn’t go well right from the start. Had an accident, they coerced me into going to their preferred garage by telling me oh don’t tow it to your garage it’s to far and it something else happens to your car! We may not cover it??????? Go to their preferred garage and I’m told the guy is an insurance scammer, tells you vehicle needs all this and that and gets money from insurance and never fixes the vehicle properly and sends it out unsafe and how reviews say that, yet it’s still Economicals preferred garage????? Garbage! My vehicle has taken extra long to get back, I mean 5!!!!!!!!! Months because of Economical? THEY STOPPED PAYING HALF WAY THROUGH MY VEHICLE BEING FIXED AND NOW I OWE OVER $2000 from going to their joke preferred garage? I told supervisor Natasha Pereira about how Neena Edward’s was? It took Natasha 3!!!!!!!! Weeks to get back to me? I basically told them this is a disgusting mess and so called supervisor Natasha Pereira said to bad we’re not paying for rental? Speak to Ombudsman about it if you want? Great! Communication skills with this whole company? SARCASM!!! Worst I’ve dealt with? Wait 5-6 weeks for Ombudsman to get back to me in being Rosemary to tell me to bad. She stands by her staff they’re not doing anything more and contact OMI??? Didn’t even explain what that is either? A very poor company to deal with when…
A very poor company to deal with when you have an accident or claim they basically throw you a low ball offer and then you have to do everything to try and get even a little more $ and even then after you do provide more evidence to them they try to discredit it or deny it even when the evidence corresponds with the same evidence and locations and pricing they use to provide the lowball offer they throw at you, to top it with icing they make you wait for a long long time long after the rental is gone back to give you any answer basically trying to force you into accepting their first lowball offer. Communicating with your so called helpful adjuster after you tefuse to accept their lowball is next to impossible they wont answer your calls or call you back even when given a message by another agent, you get no replies to phone calls or emails and not even an answering machine to leave a message on. They let an independant company called Definity(website is Definity.cOm if you want to do some research on them) who also deal with claims for SONNET, PETLINE and FAMILY Insurance companies just to let folks know its not just Economical they're associated with. 30 years of paying my premiums to them with no claims until now and to be treated this way is just discusting on their behalf. My advice would be stay clear of Economical Auto Insurance for your own good, its been 5 weeks since my accident and they have caused more stress and anxiety then the accident itself. My next move is my tictok blog I have 450k faithful followers even If I have to change my topics i discusd for a few days to get this out and shared by my followers so maybe I can atleast help a few people make a better choice about who to go with for insurance, so far from what Ive been researching TD and AllState ins is looking pretty good with reviews from my friends and a family members experiences with them so i can atleast offer that advice to my viewers to save them alot of future headaches if they have an accident also TD and Allstate has cheaper premiums from what I have seen with premiums those folks are paying for their insurance compared to Economical Ins. Please for your own good stay clear of Economical Ins because if you ever need them for anything your interaction will be very wrenching on an already stressful situation.

This is the worse insurance ever. They don’t do their job, they want you do their job and get information about your accident to pay you. It has been 3 months after my claim and the answer was I had to get the other driver info to see if they can pay me some things that I had to pay by my pocket. They never answer, they do not solve anything and they wash their hands and practically is you who have to do their job.

Economical insurance is a terrible company. I've been waiting over 7 weeks for a car accident claim to be closed. The car is a write off but it's taking forever for the company to action this. They couldn't find my car for a period of time and then they blamed the towing company. The adjuster has no idea what's she doing. I'm still waiting. Don't go with this insurance company. They are also very expensive.

I would never recommend Economical insurance to anyone! I have bee waiting for adjuster over two months(Saeed El Khatatib) replied. You can't get hold of management. There is no complain department!The company is scams come to payout!
