Con man

I just came across this site by accident and can write a book about how this man conned me and my late husband. He and his son were renting my townhouse in Hightown with the agreement to purchase when his divorce was finalized. He paid rent for a few months and since I had moved to America to care for my elderly parents couldn’t confront him, would evade phone calls, lied about divorce progress and my hands were tied. Finally had the locks changed and upon entry an Estate Agent found they had trashed the house and found evidence of drug dealing. I finally sold the property but at a loss of about £50,000. Not sure where this review will wind up, but it was satisfying to reveal this con man’s history.

Fraud

Put a deposit of £500 on a vw tiguan r line on the 5th of march and was told by geoff morrisey that my car would be delivered on the 12th of march. 4 weeks on car was not delivered. I have asked so many times for my deposit back and he keeps making excuses. I wish i read these reviews earlier. He changed his company name on MOTORS to (PETROLWISE CAR SALES) based in liverpool which has also disappeared as soon as you click onto the link. Please contact trading standards if this happens to anyone who reads this as this man is an expert in fraud!!!

Do NOT do business with this man

Do NOT do business with this man! We completed a Job in good faith and he refused to pay. Needless to say he’s banned. We had endless unhappy customers with vehicles he had sold them, knowing full well they’re weren’t road worthy. Reading all these reviews, hopefully he won’t be in business for much longer!!Karmas gets you, Jeff!

Just go elsewhere

My mrs had her old car written off whilst pregnant with our second child (no one was hurt) 2 weeks later whilst waiting for the pay out from the insurers, she went into labour. We became desperate to organise a car, and came across a Kia sportage on autotrader. I’m not a car buff and never had to buy a car myself and didn’t know what I was looking as a ‘good car’, didn’t check any reviews didn’t do any research. So whilst in the hospital I contacted Geoff and expressed my interest in the car, however he said at the moment the car wasn’t available as it was being used for personal use whilst he was waiting on a car to be imported from overseas. So he said to contact him in a week if we still needed it. So that’s what we did. I rang him back and he said sorry the Kia isn’t available still however asked if there was another car we’d be interested in. I said we were looking at any similar SUV and it just so happened that he had a Qashqai just come in. He said there was few repairs which needed to be done 1st but should be ready in a few days. So we gave him a few days and checked in with him he said the garage still hadn’t completed the repairs yet. The handbrake system needed replacing. About another week later, it was finally ready and Geoff delivered it to us. We had a quick chat and walk round the car. He shown me the features the car and shown me that it starts up etc. but silly me didn’t go further than that. We bought the car for £4000 at the beginning of November 2023, Geoff let me know that there was a 3 month warranty and if there were any issues to let him know and he would get it sorted. Then Geoff was off on his merry way. Fast forward a week and the handbrake died. I contacted Geoff and he said bring it back, which I did, he got it looked at the next day and said the garage would get the handbrake sorted the next day and we’d have the car back the day after. A few days went by and we told parts were ordered etc and there was promises of the next day then the day after and day after that. A week went by, we got the car back. A month later my missus was driving the car and the engineer management lights came on. I had a friend have a look at it and it turned out that 2 of 4 fuel injectors were knackered and causing the engine to misfire. So I get back in touch with Geoff, he’s on holiday however we organise for myself to drop the car off and the garage would sort the car out anyway. Same story, it’ll be sorted today, it’ll be sorted tomorrow etc. another week or so went by before we got the car back. And it seemed like all was good again a few weeks after the 3 months warranty expired, the engine management lights came back on! One of the other 2 injectors had gone! We got the injectors cleaned and again seemed to be okay for a while. We debated contacting Geoff again however we couldn’t afford to be without a car for weeks if Geoff’s garage had it. Fast forward a couple months ago. We had noticed that the handbrake was on its way out again and the engine management lights come back on and one of the injectors has gone again.

first choice car sales according to…

first choice car sales according to bailiffs at liverpool courts has folded no longer trading, i stand to lose over £1,000 unless the bailiffs can get there hands on the cars before he sells them off and runs, if you have a court case get in contact with the courts and a judge to find out what happens next,

Horrendous experience

Horrendous experience, sold a death trap, might as well of flushed my hard earned money down the toilet, months of stress and worry and added expense, Geoff is a narcissist who has no moral compass and tells the same lies repeatedly, family member is in hospital, I’m in London, it’ll be sorted next week, blah blah blah, all complete untruths, evil personified, just a complete and utter thieving conman, first choice should be last choice, you’ve been warned.

Do not buy a car from First Choice Car Sales

First things first, Geoff is a con man, a brilliant liar, and completely devoid of morals. He sells dangerous cars that should not be on the road and issues questionable MOT certificates. We bought a Chrysler Ypsilon, 63 plate with 48,000 miles on the clock, for £2,500 with a 12-month warranty. We made the purchase on March 13, 2024. On April 2, the gearbox selector and linkage cables failed while driving—this car had recently passed a full MOT with zero advisories from Geoff, which was surprising.I immediately notified Geoff about the issue on April 2, and he told me, "Okay, I'm back at work on Thursday. I'll get a mechanic to call you then." I arranged for a family member to be home on Thursday, but no one showed up until Friday—and it wasn't a mechanic, but a tow truck. I gave Geoff a couple of days without bothering him and then messaged him on April 8 for any news on the car. He replied, "Update you later." Apparently, he ordered the part and promised to call me the next day. No call came, so I messaged him, and he replied, "I'm in London, back in the morning, will update you."On April 10, I asked again, "Any news?" and he replied, "Not yet, part arrived, just waiting on a mobile mechanic, weather last few days delayed him." On April 11, he messaged, "Selector done but had to order new linkage cables, there are two. Update tomorrow." Still waiting on April 12, I messaged him on April 15 asking for any news on the car. No response. Then on April 17, we received a letter from the DVLA requesting verification of the information sent about the car for the logbook. We called the DVLA, and the problem was the VIN number Geoff had sent off wasn't the same as what was in their database.I informed Geoff about this, and on April 18, he said, "Not sure what it is, call the DVLA up. The parts have arrived for the car, just waiting on the workshop." Apparently, Geoff was back in London and would return the next day. On April 19, I asked how the car was doing, and the first thing he replied was, "I'm on a school run, waiting on a call, I will call you." On April 20, a Saturday, I said, "If the car isn't done by next Tuesday, we are going to have to come and take pictures of the VIN numbers ourselves," and he said, "Yes, definitely."April 23, Tuesday came, and I asked for the phone number and address of the garage he was using, but he wouldn't give it to me. He just said, "Will call you when he calls me and tells me it's done; he does his own jobs after he finishes work." No reply came, and apparently, Geoff was on the train on his way to Nottingham. So, I went down to the garage, and guess who has a time machine? Geoff does—or he's just a terrible liar. It turns out Geoff had no intention of fixing the car but to waste our time and get us to ask for the car back and fix it ourselves because he takes advantage of his customers. He tries to get aggressive, displaying bullying behavior when confronted, and resorts to his silly lies. To be fair, I might respect him a little more if he were honest, but he doesn't know how to tell the truth. FYI, I got the car back, and nothing was done to it at all, not even the gear selector he claimed was fixed. To top it off, it definitely wasn't in a garage because the car was covered in bird poop, as if it had been left on a side street for three weeks. I now need to pay more money to actually get this car fixed.

This Man is a Con Man

This man is a scam man, he lies and lies about fixing your car. Takes it pretending to fix it, makes all kinds of excuses when ask who is fixing it and how long it will take. He states his kids are sick, dad is dying, mechanic on holiday. Won't honour his refund policy at all, and when confront him he starts with his Bullying antics. Hands the car back to you stating it is fine after 6months only for the car engine to start sending warning signals. Has them looked at by reputable garages who state 'Cars are a death trap and crash waiting to happen. Proceed with caution.

First choice car sales

Brought a car from above in September 2023. I paid £2295 for a vauxhall limited edition corsa with 77000 on the mileage, thought I'd got a bargain. Due to circumstances decided to sell it to a reputable company, who kindly informed me I had bought a Cat D insurance write off which our kind Geoff did not inform me when I purchased the vehicle. All the car is worth is scrap value and dealing with this man is a night mare.IN HINDSIGHT I have been naive but you trust people. He is coming up with every excuse going.i have today reported this to Trading Standards and will pursue in small claims. Court. Look at the reviews on this trader it says it all. Avoid at all costs. Don't get stung like me

DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS COMPANY!

DO NOT!! buy a car from this lying conman. He sold me a car with a dodgy MOT certificate, all work from the previous MOT fail sheet had not been done. I took the car back to the MOT tester and they had to put on 4 brake discs, a whole new exhaust system, a front tyre, headlight bulb and a wheel nut that was missing. The MOT place said they passed the car on condition he carried out the work which he didn't, surely this is illegal. The air con wasn't working. I had to get it gassed up myself as it was in a heatwave and it failed within a few days due to a faulty compressor. I took it back to get it fixed and he had the car for 2 weeks and did nothing other than get a scratch the whole length of the car. His excuses were that i had put the wrong gas in (which isn't possible) he claims to order parts which he doesn't. He then told me the entire auto electric place he uses was going on holiday so I would have to wait a week for them to look at the car. I asked for the name and address of this garage so I could book it in myself , but he refused saying they don't like dealing with the public, so a blatant lie then. I have obtained a CCJ against him REF: 431MC107 and from what I understand I am the 11th to do so recently.Be warned, he will sell you a substandard car full of faults, probably with a dodgy MOT certificate, he will string you along with his lies regarding repairs and you will be left with a worthless car that needs hundreds if not thousands in repair work.

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs. Astounding that this inarticulate, rude abusive oaf is still operating, with so many terrible reviews. Sold me a faulty car and became very unpleasant when I tried to get him to help or admit responsibility. Going through small claims but he obviously knows and abuses the system, as well people’s good faith. Buyer beware- a prize A-hole, of the highest order.

If I could give less than a one star I…

If I could give less than a one star I would, the owner Geoff seems like a nice guy I told him I wanted to put a deposit down for a car so I put a £500 deposit down and a day later my mum was hospitalised so I told him I needed the money back to help my mum sort out hospital fees as it was a private one and he told me that I need to pick up the car as I put a deposit down and he wasn’t not trying to understand my situation he then proceeded to say I need to wait till he’s sold the car before I can attend to my mum because I have no more money left and ever since then he has been ignoring my calls and texts he says his bank has been blocked for over a week which I know is a lie please what do I do to get my money back

Do not part with your hard earned cash…

Do not part with your hard earned cash to this man. He sells cars that are death traps on the road. My daughter purchased a car from him and it has been an absolute nightmare since. Supposed to have just passed a full MOT what a joke. Go back to him and tell him all the issues with the car and he starts with his bully boy tactics. I don’t know how he gets away with it and trading standards should be investigating this joke of a man selling death trap cars.

A fool and his money are easily parted

Geoff is the nicest guy you could ever meet. Nothing is too much trouble. He'll go the extra mile! Just a shame his cars won't. Don't let Mr Nice Guy fool you like he did me. As soon as good ol' Geoff gets your money he'll fill you full of tired old excuses and promises as broken as your car when it breaks down. And it will! As sure as day follows night the car you spent your hard earned money on will break down.I bought a car from him. I soon became aware that trying to accelerate uphill on a motorway was something I could no longer do. As I was heading up to Scotland for work early on the Monday morning the roads were quiet and I was able to coax the car uphill albeit at 30mph. This made it unsafe on the motorway. Thankfully I made it to work. but that very evening going to the hotel, the clutch failed. I called Geoff to get the car dropped off to him to replace the clutch and that's when the excuses started. "Oh I can't take it this week." " Let me get back to you, I'm out on a test drive!" "My mechanic has had a death in the family" "It's a big job and I can't afford to replace it" I could go on but I was losing the will to live.I then decided I'll get it delivered to a specialist clutch centre where it took them a day to replace the clutch. Excellent I thought, a car that is now fit for purpose. Only I had forgotten about the hill issue. I was soon reminded as a HGV was bearing down on me near the naval town of Rosyth. I had to move on to the hard shoulder to avoid a crash.Once again I called the now not so wonderful Geoff to be met with more odd excuses. I tried to get an answer, I tried to get my money back I tried everything I could think of. In the end I had another garage look at the car who condemned it. Yes they could have fixed everything but I was not about to spend a couple of thousand to get it to the standard it should have been just 2 weeks earlier. How it had a supposedly full MOT is beyond me. An MOT is a snapshot of the condition at that moment but to have a braking system that was unsafe just days later is appalling. So if anyone thinks of going here to see good ol' Geoff...Don't! His warranties aren't worth the paper they are written on! I have kept the date as the date of review, not the range of dates I was dealt excuse after excuse.
