Great reviews but horrible experience.
So I love to cook but sometimes want a break. Based on the excellent reviews on Instagram, I decided to try Hungryroot. I ordered a couple dinners for 2, egg bites for breakfast, one lunch, and some snacks. My order was 2 days late arriving. The customer service is horrible. You can't talk to a person. Your initial contact is with BOTS. You can email & I also found a number to text them but didn't get correct info on my order. It did arrive 2 days later. The egg bites were horrible. Also ordered the burrito bowl. The pre-cooked chicken was inedible and the salsa that came with it (Sam's) had such a bad chemical taste that I ended up throwing it out. So disappointed and would not recommend.

Lots of great food
Lots of great food. Customizable. Well thought out offerings. Balanced nutrition. I chose the plant-based option to try (I’ve never been a vegan) and I love the meals. They sent me all the foods I need to prepare a meal and it was easy. (I chose the option where I do the cooking). I’d recommend Hungry Root.

My first experience in ordering from Hungryroot was easier than I thought. There is variety of meals, snacks and other essentials to eating healthier. I have recommended this to my other family members. The meals are simple ingredients with minimal preparation.

I have the freedom to choose my meals
I have the freedom to choose my meals, even the time it takes to make certain meals. At this point in my life, mom of two, I don't have much extra time to plan, shop, and cook so choosing meals that don't take much time is very helpful. The quality of the meat and veggies have also been very good, we can literally taste the difference with many of the items.

Not celiac safe
Not celiac safe. They asked me if I had allergies, and I told them I'm allergic to gluten. They don't let you look at your order to after you pay, and when I saw what was in my order I realized most items had wheat in them.

I like the variety and ease of customizing
I like that everything comes that I need to make a meal comes with my order. If I don’t need something I can edit my order and take the ingredient out or swap it for something else. I don’t eat meat and there are a variety of meals and groceries to choose from, I have had difficulty with that when it comes to other subscriptions. Overall, I am happy with the variety of choices and that I am able to customize meals to my taste.

Love that I no longer have to meal plan!
I have only received my first order, but I loved not having to meal plan my entire week, that everything was fresh, and I get to try new (and amazing!) foods
