Terrible
The property canceled our reservation before arrival, after all other travel arrangements had already been made, and provided no assistance or compensation for the inconvenience caused. After they cancelled our reservation, they reposted the same availability for triple the price. They are providing a general response about their Airbnb account being “compromised” but again, they cancelled our reservation last minute and offered absolutely no assistance just instructed us to book for triple the price. Terrible.

"Confirmed" doesn't mean confirmed. A very expensive lesson from Natural Retreats.
I’m writing this review to warn other families who plan their trips far in advance. Our group of 16 had our annual holiday vacation thrown into chaos by Natural Retreats, and we ended up paying dearly for it.We had a large house in Big Sky booked and confirmed for the week between Christmas and New Year's. With four families flying in from across the country, we all booked our non-refundable plane tickets and lift passes well in advance. Then, just two months before our trip, we got a short email: our booking was canceled because the house had been sold.Just like that. The real problem was that we were completely locked into these dates and this location. A house sale doesn't happen overnight, and you have to wonder if they knew the property was on the market when they took our money. At no point were we warned that our confirmed booking was at risk. It seems to us that a management company's first job should be to protect their clients' confirmed reservations, especially during a sale. When we asked for help, any homes they did have were at a much higher price, and they offered zero help to cover the difference. The one property we found that could have worked for part of our week, they refused to make a simple exception on their 5-night minimum (we only needed four) and instead quoted us an outrageous $16,000. It felt less like they were trying to help solve a problem they created, and more like they were trying to profit from it.In the end, we had to scramble and find a solution ourselves. We were forced to book two separate, much more expensive properties, which meant a disruptive move with eight kids in the middle of our vacation. This mess cost our group an extra $13,742.My advice is to be extremely careful. Don't assume your "confirmed" reservation is secure. Ask them directly if your rental is for sale before you book any non-refundable travel. We were left to clean up their mess, and it was an expensive one. We would never use this company again.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Can’t wait to go back!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Can’t wait to go back!We absolutely loved our time at Last Best Chalet. From the second we walked in, it felt like home — warm, welcoming, and filled with thoughtful details that make the stay so special. The views are stunning, the home is beautifully designed, and it’s the perfect mix of luxury and cozy mountain charm. After long days riding and exploring, coming back here to unwind by the fire or soak in the hot tub with a glass of wine was everything we needed. It’s the kind of place that makes you slow down and truly enjoy every moment. It was the perfect backdrop for reconnecting with friends, sharing laughs, and creating memories — and we’re already planning our next trip back. If you’re coming to Big Sky, this is the place you want to stay.

Big Sky Perfection
It was our first time in Montana but it won't be our last! Could not imagine a more perfect stay than The Last Best Chalet. The attention to detail from the robes on every bed to the immaculate condition of the home was as close to perfect as you can get. You can't beat being able to nature watch from the porch or star gaze from your bed. Check in and out was seamless, other than it being hard to say goodbye! We look forward to coming back and getting to enjoy the ski in ski out experience. This place really is THE BEST and we feel extremely lucky to have gotten to call it home for the week.

Beautiful property
Beautiful property, saw deer in the yard every day. The cabin is even better looking than the photos represent and is easily the most well supplied and appointed STR that I've ever stay in. Close enough to town to be convenient and far enough out to be rural. 40min to West Glacier makes visiting the park easy.

Cozy unit for a great price!
It was a very nice unit, good amount of space and felt very homey. We unfortunately had to leave due to my wife's elevation sickness so the likely hood of us coming back is slim BUT if we were able to I would gladly rent this unit again!

Outstanding Condo and Management
By far the most beautiful well managed and maintained place to stay. Every amenity imaginable and some we had not thought about.Gorgeous views of the mountains and large pond with beautiful fountain in the center. Easy access to everything. The management team very responsive and friendly. Beautiful place to stay.

Wonderful Experience!
So many "little" things that made the property feel like home. The coffee, the filtered water, the high-end toiletries, the storage baggies, not having to do much on checkout...

Beautiful location
Unit was clean, beautiful and very welcoming. Was a perfect fit for our traveling family. Loved the location and the jacuzzi was perfect after long days of hiking.Note that the there is no elevator so the 3rd story units could add to your fitness routine.😊

An EPIC stay in Big Sky!
We had the most INCREDIBLE stay at The Last Best Chalet. I’ve woken up every day since depressed that I’m not still there. The house is stunning, the amenities top notch, the views unreal, and location is unbeatable. I’ll never be over it and I’ll scream from the rooftops to grab your fav people and book it! For any time of year, you won’t regret it. It’s a home you won’t want to leave, and will keep wanting to go back to.

A great experience every time!
We’ve rented multiple times through Natural Retreats and have had a great experience every single time, without fail. There’s always great communication before and during our stays, and the homes are always clean and nicely appointed. We will continue to search first on the Natural Retreats website anytime we need a vacation rental!

The place was perfect for us
The place was perfect for us. Sister stayed with us week one. Daughter week two. Everyone had their own floor. Great amenities. Great location. Very private. We could even walk to the lake and downtown Whitefish. Glacier only 30 miles away. Very thankful. Great management group.

The Perfect Serene Montana Get Away
How do you summarize the perfect vacation? Like this - It was the first vacation we ever went on where the entire family wept that it was over. After a long and arduous year, a Montana getaway for this East Coast family was much-needed therapy. The house was AWESOME. The appliances and decor were all first-class. The decks offered views of Lost Loon Lake and allowed my family and me to see Bald Eagles, deer, and turkeys. We made it a nightly event to watch the turkeys roost. The house was just minutes from Downtown Whitefish, allowing us to gather food and snacks, supplies, go to dinner, and pick up gifts and souvenirs. The 40-minute ride to Glacier NP offered us the ability to hike, kayak, and see wildlife (we saw a Grizzly on one of the days). The vacation was perfect! The house has all the amenities one would want. It has a bit of a quirky design in that you have to walk through a bathroom and closet to get to the master bedroom, but once you are there, you have total privacy. At first, I thought it was odd, but as I made the journey to my hidden bedroom each day, I began to think of it as a fabulous little retreat. My entire family had a blast. Depending on the time of year, there is a noticeable temperature difference between the first floor, which opens out to the backyard/lake, the first floor, and the top floor. The upstairs gets a little warmer, but the air conditioner and fans made it perfect - you have to take a moment to learn to adjust things to your liking. I highly recommend this house to anyone seeking a connection with nature, a chance to escape the world for a while, yet still enjoy the comforts of home. A 10 out of 10! You would never be disappointed renting this home.

SCAM! DO NOT USE this company
Do NOT use this company. The property we rented from them in Lake Tahoe this last weekend was fine, but the management is a complete scam. When we arrived, the HVAC didn’t work—I discovered they had actually pulled the fuse from the AC. Fans stuffed in closets should’ve been the first red flag. I contacted management immediately and got ignored until the next day, only to be told to “turn up the thermostat.” When I explained there was no fuse, they claimed they’d reach out to the on-site team—then disappeared. Same canned “sorry for the inconvenience” response everyone else gets. Read Yelp and Google reviews, it’s their pattern. Even Airbnb couldn’t reach them and had to refund me 30%. The company finally offered to send an HVAC tech on the day were leaving. Absolutely shady, unprofessional, and dishonest. Do your research before booking—I wish I had. I fully expect another canned apology to this review.
