I booked an overnight stay for two with…

I booked an overnight stay for two with breakfast on 14 February 2026 to EDSA Shangri-La Philippines. I was offered an overnight stay with breakfast for two and late checkout at 2pm next day 15 February 2026 for ₱10,062.45Next day at early as 7am I contacted reception and query if I stayed up to 5pm that day 15 February 2026 how much would I pay. I was told ₱4,000. On checkout time I was charged 4,500 and the receipt show I was charged ₱14,562.45. I was not happy the hotel overcharged me and was sneaky in their action. So PEOPLE BEWARE OF THIS HOTEL.

We stayed at the ShangriLa Hotel…

We stayed at the ShangriLa Hotel London. It was over £900 for a night’s stay. We checked in and were told that “ 90% of the rooms have baths but yours does not” . We were upgraded to a room with a bath .We were told that a “service charge “ of £40 plus had been automatically added to the room rate. The room was a very standard room. There was one fairly small towel each and the slippers , soap , etc were all of poor quality. The room was very gloomy with poor lighting. On returning to our room at night the tea things were still in the room. We asked why the room had not been serviced and they said this had to be especially requested. Overall a very poor hotel which is extremely expensive .

Overall bad experience

This review is dedicated for Shangri La Tianjin, as I never stay in other cities I cannot review others.Very bad experience overall.Room is noisy; between the street works at night and cars and the fridge buzzing loudly every half hourCustomer service is very poorFood is at best average for the high price; no real cooking mostly frozen foodThe gym is often smelling cigarettes Rooms are old and tv is indecent at this price pointLastly this hotel is very impersonated, not cozyIn conclusion at this price point there is better hotels nearby

I Was Threatened and Humiliated at Shangri-La Muscat

My stay turned into a nightmare. I was threatened by a hotel manager (Jega) with prison simply for asking a receptionist to dinner. I was then forced to pay double, treated like a criminal, and humiliated.They claimed to refund me – but sent money to someone else’s card, and a promised 150 OMR has still not arrived.This wasn’t just a bad experience – it was trauma. I’ve contacted lawyers and filed reports with the police.This hotel does not deserve the Shangri-La name. Avoid it.

**DO NOT STAY AT SHANGRI-LA** This has been the worst experience both customer service and hotel I have come across and I have not even stayed at the hotel yet!! My wife and I received a Shangri-La gift voucher as wedding present from work colleagues that we were grateful to get. First, I tried to use the voucher at another Shangri-La hotel other than Sydney as we live there and NO.. it can only be used in Sydney. I tried to call the hotel to make a booking at about 8pm and was told NO.. I need to email the voucher which I said I did previously a week ago. I said I did not want to correspond by e-mail and want to be put through to talk to someone and make a booking and was told NO.. the internal reservations team only works 9am to 5pm and it’s up to me to ring back. Seriously!! this is suppose to be a 5 star hotel and you have to ring to fit in with their working schedule to make a booking when in should be a simple quick process to do 24/7.. So, I call back today and spoke to the internal bookings representative during their working hours and NO.. they cannot find my voucher number that i read the details out off the voucher that I have in my hand. Was asked to send a copy of the voucher that I said I did already a week ago but NO.. that person it was sent to was not in today. So I send again. Now, I try to book a room and as it is for a special occasion of our reservation I want n Executive Harbour View King Room. booking on Booking.com I can get this room if I book through them for $415 for the night and can I book through them and use the voucher but NO to use the voucher I must go through Shangri-La Hotel direct. I ask can you match the rate on Booking.com? NO.. that is a discounted rate and the Terms & Conditions of the voucher this voucher is for regular rates not discounted rate and vouchers can only be used on full fare regular room rates. So Shangri-La won’t budge was told there is no flexibility and I left with no choice but take it or leave it put your hand in your pocket and will have to pay an extra $100 on-top of the Booking.com rate with appalling customer service and inflexible company policy. Last problem is this review has taken and wasted another 10 mins of to type now absolutely frustration but if this review convinces someone else not to stay at the Shangri-La then at least some justice will happen. Again I have at this point I have not even set foot in the hotel yet. **I WILL NEVER EVER BOOK OR STAY AT ANY SHANGRI-LA HOTEL IN THE FUTURE AND ADVIS EVERYONE ELSE TO FIND ANOTHER 5-STAR HOTEL THAT DO WHAT THE RATING SUGGESTS!!**

Stayed here during Christmas

Stayed here during Christmas, the breakfast buffet was absolutely insane! Room was decent, thanks for the upgrade! Definitely recommend them!

Just arrived at the Shangri-la Makati…

Just arrived at the Shangri-la hotel in Makati in the Philippines. The rooms are in a desperate need of a make over. The entire hotel just feels old and a horrible damp smell fills the room. I was previously staying in the Carlton Hotel in Bangkok, and it was streets ahead in terms of a welcoming experience and in-room technology.Time for the Shangri-la group to stop resting on its past laurels.

A mixed bag

A mixed bag. The hotels in Dubai, Singapore and Sydney were wonderful. Great service and facilities. The one in Hong Kong was the contrary - basic. Okay but more like a UK Ibis hotel.

Beautiful vacation on a beautiful island.

Stayed in the Mauritius resort, everything was perfect. The layout of the resort is beautiful, the facilities are excellent. The staff and service was the best I’ve ever received, we’ve travelled a lot around the world and this set a new benchmark for luxury and hospitality. The attention to detail, small touches like cleaning dirty sunglasses, all of the staff went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome. The room was amazing, good size, very comfortable. Stayed in other resorts in Mauritius and this was by far the best value for money. The private island is a wonderful added bonus.

Great hotel in Shenzhen.

Great hotel really good value for money. Only 4 stars this time as my room was next to the elevator shaft and it sounded like a rocket being launched all through the night. I Would recommend staying just avoid the rooms close to the lift shaft. 5 stars for everything else.

Disappointed with Shangrila Hotel Makati…

We visited Shangrila Hotel Makati today, 2nd September 2024, for snacks with family and friends to reflect on our beloved mother during her recent passing and funeral. This venue prides itself of one of the best five star hotels in the world with excellent service top notch facilities, etc.Staff that served our group:Yani the supervisor , Tine Dan KyleneWhen the staff took our orders, below was the mistakes that we observed:* Everything arrived late, the service was so slow considering there wasn’t many guests around! A simple jug of water with lemon took twenty minutes to arrive! I kept on following it up from the staff what happened to the jug of water?!* The foods we ordered came in dribs and drabs, meaning the foods didn’t arrive together at the same time, we waited for a long time before the others received their foods!* Staff serving the orders could not remember / know who ordered what food ?! Staff were asking the question who ordered what instead of remembering which food should go to which guests!?* There was a fly , an insect fly that was flying around our food and we had to shoo it away each time it flew near our foods!* When one of my sisters ordered a latte coffee, the coffee had a very bitter taste and she had it changed to a better tasting latte plus our other friend ordered another latte. They ordered brown sugar and Splenda. Again the staff took so long to arrive the coffee was getting cold! Then the staff with the Splenda asked the guests to pass on the sweetener to my sister which was the wrong way of serving the sweetener (or any food for that matter!) The staff should have gone to my sister and served the sweetener to her instead!!* Fruit platter we ordered says seasonal fruits, then the platter arrived with no mango!!?? We reiterated that a luxury five star hotel as Shangrila must have mango at all times as it’s the Philippines national fruit! Staff said ‘sorry no mango!’ When we insisted that mango must be in the fruit platter, staff finally arrived with a fruit platter with mango in it!* When our friend ordered Tuna melt sandwich and potato chips , staff said no potato chips - so our friend requested salad and French fries with the tuna melt sandwich, then the food came with potato chips, what a lovely surprise!!* When the staff served our dessert, the lady staff stood in front of our friend who was sitting down in the chair?! The lady staff behind was facing my male friend’s face! This was not the correct way of serving food to guests!!!!* The empty plates and dishes have been lying on the table for a long time when they should have been collected by the staff immediately after the guests had finished eating! I had to stand up to complain again to Yani to remove the used empty plates and dishes!Coming to a one of the most popular, expensive hotels in the world guests expect excellent, exceptional service from Shangrila!!Yani offered to give us complimentary desserts to make up for her and staff shortcomings in the food service. The food was good, but nothing special; the cubie was dry, the halo halo dessert was served on a soup bowl it was difficult to mix the sweetened fruits with the ice and milk.I’m pointing this to make the management aware that if you’ll have more challenging guests, they might be more rude to the staff and I’m avoiding this kind of incidents for your staff in the future. I check in late Monday night just to…

I check in late Monday night just to get there and there system is down and they ended up cancelling my reservation. I slept on the lobby couch for an hour before I could get a room. The hotel manager is one of the most unprofessional resort managers Ive ever dealt with and he lost me 3 grand on a phone call. Lance is also horrible. Brett & Lance should not be running a resort they dont know how too. I got kicked off property for no reason because there hotel manager has a big ego and has never been hit in the mouth before, clearly. I played 10 holes there and they kicked me off the course and said I paid for 9 instead of 18. I never got that refund. STAY AWAY. If you want a resort for golf go to hard rock in catoosa and walk across the street. Horrific experience I will never be back.

I have found a better rate thru luxury…

I have found a better rate thru luxury escapes ,I contacted the reservations dept and asked them to price match .Its all over their website , that they guarantee to match any rate you find.They refused to price match , saying its a rate not available to the public, which is untrue.THEY DO NOT PRICE MATCH

Robbery in Shangri-la restaurant Makati

We went Saturday for a lunch buffe In Shangri-la In the cirkel In Makati Manila PhilipinnesWe was some of the first guest and after we went up for the first food my freinds bag and phone got stolen from our table. The hotel staff was so slow to look into the CCTV the bag and the phone was already out of the hotel area . Today the hotel say they cannot help to pay or help to pay some of the loss. There now going over the police and hopefully they can raise a case for court.Please be careful when you visit this hotel because the security and the hotel staff are not talking care what people the open the door for.

Shangri-La was once my favorite hotel chain. My family and I used to go to different places on a regular basis, gladly collecting and using their reward points (nearly at the diamond level). However, due to the war in Ukraine, we have been unable to travel for the past two years. I told customer service about it, and guess what? They erased all of my achievements to date and refused to extend the expiry period of my accrued points as well as my membership level. Well, the war will come to an end soon, but we will never visit a si hole Shangri La venue ever again.

I have been to many hotels and have never seen it: Shangri-La London Hotel provides canned water (a bottle is used repeatedly). If you want original water, it costs 10 pounds a bottle. I saw with my own eyes that the cleaner didn't wear gloves. After pouring the trash can, I took a clean bath towel. A small dirty towel wiped a lot of places. Once, he sent me old slippers (because the new slippers were tied together, it was difficult to open. She gave me three, not two pairs). The paint at the bottom of the room door cracked and rolled up, and it felt like it was about to enter a warehouse. The room was narrow! $1200-$1,300 a day does not include breakfast, the famous afternoon tea: all high sugar, chocolate, and only a few, nothing special! My room can see the whole night view of London. It's very beautiful! This is a like 👍! But I want everyone to be careful. When the hotel sends a message to ask about the room upgrade, you must be careful. This hotel is a disgrace action with authorities taken

This hotel Shangri La Sydney is a disgrace On arriving the concierge was rushing to get us out the car to take it to the car park , they would not give us a chance to get our luggage out of the car and then started shaking their heads. We had dinner at altitude restaurant i could not eat the food it was so bad . After complaining the Manager of the restaurant was rude obnoxious and has no idea how to deal with customers . Then he told an Asian couple that the restaurant was Un Australian so ok to use , I find this a discriminatory and have reported it . There was no filtered water that they now use in the fridge as stated , on checking out the reservations person stated she would wipe the dinner due to all the issues we have had . Then we get charged afterwards for dinner then refunded part then debited then debited using our credit card to their advantage dipping in and and using it like their own personal ATM I have called them and emailed them, the Duty Manager refused to take my call and call me back . I have now lodged a complaint with the necessary authorities and my Bank, and will take it to court if need be as these people seem to think they can use hotel guests credit cards like their own take money and more money when ever they think , this is incorrect and there are laws to protect patrons from this sort of behaviour . I am also going to current affair with my complaint so that everyone in Australia knows how underhanded and despicable these people are and hopefully will never stay with them .I will NOT let this matter go I will take it as far as I need too They still owe us money with their dipping into our credit card
