I ordered a heater from this company and signed up for a membership solely to purchase this product. The order initially appeared to have shipped, but there was no tracking information provided. After waiting 15 days with no updates, I contacted customer service to find out what happened.I was then told that the order never actually shipped and that the item was no longer available, so they would issue a refund for the product. However, the membership fee was not refunded, even though I only joined to buy this item.Overall, this was a disappointing experience due to poor communication, misleading order status, and very low customer care.
One of the worst online companies I have ever experienced. Item ordered was put on back order but do you think they would communicate it with us? Not a chance. Cannot find the order online. When we called, they kept changing when it will ship. Today, when we called, they told us the order was already canceled without any notification. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.
Where to start! Been a customer/member for years with zero issues. Never had anything bad to say as I never had a bad experience... until December 2025, then WOW!! Ordered a backpack and boots using member discount pricing. Boots showed shipped, backpack showed warehouse fulfilling. Boots arrived but backpack kept showing fulfilling, then out of stock, then warehouse fulfilling, then out of stock. Received email saying payment didn't go through, call them. Went to the link for the message and it said everything was good, so I went on chat to find out what I could. This was 10-days after initial order placement. Chat told me to call finance dept, about issue with payment. I called, CS agent was polite and told me the item was back in stock and would ship as soon as it was back in inventory. I used their 4-Pay system (SEZZLE) and it seems they refunded the backpack amount to me because SG couldn't ship it in time. CS agent said they would resubmit it to 4-Pay, but they would most likely just tack the amount onto the last payment. Asked if I could pay for it separately now, she said yes and took my card info. Item continued to show fulfilling or backordered. Another 10-days go by and nothing, so I call again. CS agent was an absolute MONSTER! Rapid-fire speech with no breaks. Kept asking her to slow down, which resulted in her moving to rapid-fire yelling. Every time I asked her to stop and listen, she refused. The fact that she was absolutely not listening to anything I said and kept going back to repeating the same, incorrect information at her loud, rapid-fire pace was frustrating me no end. Must have told her 10 times that she was not listening and was therefore not actually answering or addressing the issue as well as continuing to provide incorrect information. I finally lost it and yelled at her to shut up. To be clear, the issue was simple: I had paid for this by phone with CC 10-days prior, but she kept referring back to the 4-Pay. I kept requesting a supervisor, but didn't get anywhere. That call ended in frustration. I waited and called back, hoping to get a different CS agent, but no such luck. As politely as possible, I asked for a fulfilment/shipping date for this item. She indicated it was reserved in my name and would ship within a few days. Two days later, the item showed as No Longer Available and still shows that way now. Ironically (or not), I placed a new order for the exact same item, only now the price was $10 more than the original order price. Guess what, it shipped within a few days and I have received it. So the item is no longer available from my original order, but I can (and did!) order another one and it's in stock and shipped within a few days!! Seems they didn't want to sell it at the original discounted price, but will at the new, higher price. Bait and switch? We don't have any at that price, but a warehouse full at this price? No idea what happened to SG, but this is totally unacceptable. Poor service, poor customer service, poor customer service agents and a general, so what, who cares attitude is what you get now. On top of that, I've been resorted to filing a CC dispute to get my money back from them because they keep terrible records of transactions, don't listen and don't appear to care anyway!
Was a member since 2019 and it’s gone down hill very fast between how they pack and ship there products to only using FedEx it’s a complete joke won’t be ever using them again
Terrible customer service. I place a order with a coupon, says everything went through and then get an email they need more money. Called the company waited 30 min to talk to someone saying only a partial payment went through..never heard of that in my life..I needed to send them $15 so they could give a discount..yeah right.
READ ALL REVIEWS ABOUT SPORTSMAN’S GUIDE, and believe them. There is a reason they are rated so low by so many. Save yourself the headache and shop elsewhere. I ordered a jacket for which they charged me $20 for next day shipping and I received the jacket approximately 7 days later. In the meantime, I purchased from a MUCH MORE REPUTABLE company with 5 star reviews, did NOT pay extra for overnight shipping, and still received it next day. When attempting to cancel my order from Sportsman’s Guide (before it arrived), I was told they could not cancel it even though it STILL had not shipped. When I finally received the jacket, I initiated a return/refund immediately (for which I’m STILL waiting). And by the way, I had to fight to get the fake overnight fee added to the refund amount. I almost guarantee when (and if) the refund actually gets processed, it will not include the fake overnight charge. Just shop elsewhere. You’ll be happy you did.
I used to be a member and strong supporter of Sportsman's Guide until late 2025. It's very unfortunate, but I have had 2 insured packages within the last 6 month missing items upon delivery. Both times the packages had been tampered with, and looked like the items were intentionally removed. The first time I contacted SG online, never got a response, but the missing items just appeared about 2 weeks after I contacted them. The second time, no response, and I eventually had to dispute the charges.
Not even a one is deserving. Order a tree stand on sale on December 10. Half price, they say out of stock. One week later they are in stock back at full price. That's bs you offer and can't give a sale price one week later. It was a scam just to get in there website
This place CONSTANTLY cancels orders where you've got a larger discount than they expected. I just placed an order for an item with a 20% coupon code. No backorder notice or anything. 4 days later I get an email that its been backordered (which the retail site it ships from is fully stocked, I called and checked). So I go to order another color that says its in stock but didnt have my code on hand. Reached out to CS who told me my code had expired and I couldnt use it. I asked if they would honor the price since my order was cancelled and was NOT my fault as the item was NOT backordered at the time I place it. They would not honor the code or the price for the other color. 100% this order was cancelled because I was able to stack a coupon code and someone caught it and cancelled it. And the fact that I lost out 2x's here because the coupon code expired post order and the item is "Out of stock" I lost out on a Christmas present for my brother. Freakin irritating and this isnt the first time I've had an order cancelled where the price was great and Poof, cancelled. Will NEVER buy from this place again.
I was shopping again this time for Military Surplus. The SG website advertisement stated "All orders over $49.99 Ship Free." My order was $57.00. They charged me $15 shipping. This was "Bait & Switch" unlawful tactics. Interfaced with "Kim" on Customer Service text. She also attempted to "Bait & Switch" to purchasing an Expensive Membership. Advise Skip this Unethical Company. Order from an Honorable and Reliable Company. I did not experience Sportsman's Guide to be honorable. What a Pity.
Order placed Dec 3rd, shipping notification on Dec 4th. Item estimated delivery Dec 6th. No updates on shipping until Dec 15th, saying that it will be delivered on the 8th of Dec. We are now updating customers that their items will be delivered in the past. Contact customer service and notify of the situation, was told to wait longer... Called Fed Ex and was told that the item was lost in transit and that I would need to contact the retailer to file a claim. They did handle my refund quickly, at least they said it was processed, we shall see. Good deals are not always worth it folks. I wish I had read some reviews prior to my attempted purchase.
They have now told me the items I ordered are on backorder, and the delivery date keeps getting pushed back. I have contacted both companies that produce the equipment and was told that the items are in their warehouses and can be shipped at any time once they receive the order. One of two things is happening.1. They have not gotten off the chairs they are sitting in to get the order shipped and processed.2. They are too lazy to get off the chairs they are sitting in to get the order shipped and processed.The one item I ordered is on backorder, and Hatsan US currently has 4,300 in stock. The only reason I know is that I acted like a buyer and told them my company wanted to purchase 240 of them for our website. Do not do business with Sportsman's Guide. The stories they tell their customers do not match what they promise in their satisfaction guarantee section of the website.

Id give zero stars if I could. DONOT order anything from this horrible company!! Pay for membership and for next day shipping. They dont do next day it's ground shipping but they do take your money. Zero concerns for first responders, zero care for customers. But they do love taking ur money! An absolute joke!!!
Ordered two large items, FedEx delivered them to the who knows where. As this was my first purchase from them, I purchased their membership and paid for purchase protection. The purchase protection, per their website states verbatim "guarantees you an expedited reship or refund should something happen to your package en route to you." On contacting them they stated I will have to wait at least two weeks for a resolution as the shipping company stated the item was delivered. The tracking shows pictures of a house that is not mine, and if needed, I have cameras showing no one delivering packages. They refused to honor the "protection" I opted to pay for, and were extremely short and rude when I inquired about it. They could have at least offered to refund my $3 optional charge while I'm stuck waiting for resolution. Stay away from this company. They'll steal your money and be rude about it to boot. *** Update. Worthless scam company. Per Sportsman's Guide, FedEx "says it was delivered" and they refuse to do anything about it, or pursue a claim (and as they are the shipper, I am unable to pursue a calm with FedEx on my own). Again, I have documentation, photo, and video evidence my package never arrived, and per FedEx website, shows my package delivered to a different house.Avoid this company at all cost unless you like your money stolen.
Absolutely the worst company you can imagine! I’ve been a customer for over 30 years and will never do business with them again! Shipped wrong order, took weeks to correct and then charged me for the wrong merchandise I returned!Scam company period!Do not do business with them! Since the company was sold it’s just a farce!!!
Sportsman's Guide has everything you want, but several issues fail good customer service standards. For instance, I placed my order on Wednesday shortly after lunch and paid for two-day shipping. The confirmation read that my order would arrive by Friday. [Somebody] shipped part of the order the following day, but the rest of the order remains in the warehouse, despite all parts being in stock. They also sent my partial order via ground delivery with a 5-7 day delivery timeframe. REMEMBER, I SELECTED 2-DAY SHIPPING. So, I called, and they told me that if the order did not arrive on time, I could request a credit for my 2-day shipping fee, BUT I WOULD HAVE TO CALL BACK. Note that the last call I made, I waited almost 15 minutes before someone picked up the phone, and I still got the runaround. AND REMEMBER, I SELECTED 2-DAY SHIPPING, so I'm not sure why she didn't credit me on the original call. The shipping department and the sales department seem to be in separate silos. I have a big hunt scheduled for Saturday and need these items. Lastly, I was unable to cancel my order online, despite the buttons being available to do so. The prompt instructed me to call for assistance. Unfortunately for me, I chose to give them a shot since there was a small savings over Cabelas. I've learned a valuable lesson. In the future, I will select higher cost over poor customer service every time.
Absolutely garbage company! They sent me the wrong items and after explaining to them what happened they told me they had shipped the correct ones. Ten days later I hadn’t received anything so I asked for tracking and they said they hadn’t shipped anything. Multiple requests for an ETA all got the same generic responses with no estimate. Now three weeks later I’m cancelling my order and filing a charge back. They’re a dumpster fire of a company and I will never order from them again. I can’t believe people would actually pay for a membership to Sportsman’s Guide.
This company is one of the Very worst ones you could ever deal with and all of the ratings here should be telling you all you need to know. Their customer service representatives are some of the Very Worst, their "Iron Clad Guarantee" isn't worth the paper it's written on and they like to stick you with that worthless "Buyers Club" crap that you'll pay for but never use again. Received a *new BDU jacket with a red dye stain on the front and I saw how useless that Iron Clad Guarantee actually is. If these reviews Haven't told you what you need to know about this company just go ahead and place an order......you'll find out the hard way.
