The best platform for learning Spanish!I have tried many courses but none came close to the quality of these lessons. 4 levels (Beginner, Upper Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced), unlimited classes throughout the day, interesting topics, amazing teachers, written exercises, language resources. The course is comprehensive covering all aspects of language learning: listening, reading, writing, speaking, grammar.
The availability of classes at every hour on a daily basis makes Start Spanish an entertaining and efficient way to learn and practice conversation in Spanish.The class topics are well chosen for interest and relevance and the teachers are patient and encouraging. Private classes follow a similar format, with a predetermined topic of discussion, new vocabulary and some practice in grammar. Through small incremental gains from daily practice a fuller knowledge of both language and culture are comfortably in reach.
Great place to get live education and plug-n-play services that match my needs. I improved significantly after using Startspanish. Kind teachers, good vibe in classes and excellent user interface. Better than physical private classes which I also tried
I have been using StartSpanish for 15 months now and I've just renewed subscription for another year.To me the unlimited group classes is the best way I found to improve your speaking on the Internet, they are convenient (group classes start every hour, not 24/7, but cover most of the slots) and inexpensive (even though if you take only one or two classes per week, it would still be a bargain).I've enjoyed the group classes a lot, I've had classes with all the teachers in StartSpanish (I think) and I like everyone of them, not to mention the other students from all over the world. Even though I don't take group classes any more at the moment, I still take their private classes once per week.Try the classes, talk to the teacher, I think you will be convinced. Even though I am retired, live in a remote area, and have never studied a second language before, I have make steady progress in achieving my goal of being bilingual since joining StartSpanish. I highly recommend it to anyone who seriously wants to really learn Spanish. By taking advantage of all that StartSpanish has to offer and making a concerted effort, anyone can make amazing advances by participating in this awesome program. It is addicting and so much fun that I hate to miss a day.
StartSpanish is a great way to become more fluent in Spanish with daily conversations with people from all over the world, led by helpful, encouraging instructors. Your vocabulary will increase as you learn about destinations in Latin America, practice grammar and discuss pertinent subjects that relate to travel and daily life. An added bonus is that you get to know other countries and cultures through the interaction of the other students. Immediate written feedback corrects the common errors of every student and optional short written assignments are corrected and returned promptly to help develop Spanish writing skills. I highly recommend this program as a fun, productive way to improve your Spanish speaking and writing skills.Jamie
I have been taking Start Spanish for over a year and my spanish has improved considerably. I too have taken lots of night classes and listened to lessons on my I pod. With Start Spanish you usually have small classes 3 to 4 students who are usually at the same level as you. I found night classes particularly frustrating when you had 15 students at various levels. The teachers are excellent, very patient, very knowledgeable and entertaining. I have learnt a lot of spanish and had lots of fun doing it. I highly recommend Start Spanish. PeterMcConnell
Interesting, varied, and sufficiently explanatory lessons from Beginner to Advanced. The teachers are articulate, friendly, and mostly quite brilliant, honestly. Engaging multi-media self-study lessons are available. Also lessons on vocab, conjugations, and other concepts which I haven't even gotten to you.Only thing I'd really love to see done differently for now is the focus on a particular concept more intensively, for a longer period of time. (i.e., "por" vs. "para" classes done for a week, instead of a lesson at a time then moving on to something else.) This would increase the value exponentially -- although it's been invaluable already in increasing my Spanish fluency.
I have studied Spanish for many years and I have tried many approaches in my quest to become fluent in Spanish. I have spent many hours doing exercises in grammer books and conjugating verbs. I have taken classes at universities and I have even done several summer immersion programs in Spain, México and Costa Rica which is a great experience but for most of us studying abroad is not always an option. Start Spanish is like a mini immersion. I go to Argentina everyday for an hour or two to converse with native speakers on every topic imaginable with out even having to leave my house. The teachers are all highly skilled and super friendly. I have been studying with them for a year now and I can't believe how much my conversational skills have improved. When ever I am in a situation where I can practice with native speakers they are always amazed at my ability to converse so fluently.
StartSpanish is an online company working out of Cordoba, Argentina. It offers live classes in Spanish every day of the week between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m., and between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. on the weekend. Classes last roughly 45 minutes and are hosted by a qualified Spanish teacher. There are four levels: Beginner, Upper Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.The teachers are top-notch. They are well-informed and sympathetic to difficulties language learners undergo. Short of immersing yourself in a Spanish-speaking country it is absolutely the best way to get a solid grip on Spanish. Prices vary, but a basic plan can cost you as little as $40 Canadian (about $30 U.S.). For that, you can take as many classes as you like per day and you have access to their database with lots of resources. To back up your live lessons a series of units give you a progressive course (complete with a cartoon family that you can follow as they go through various family crises). There is a daily writing exercise based on the live classes and private classes available if you want to pay a little extra.Group classes vary from one person (if you are lucky), to as high as nine, which is very rare, but it is too many. (One is ideal, two to four is excellent—and common, five to seven is not ideal—but you will run into this a few times a week if you are a regular, and over seven is too many—and rare.) The only way to avoid high classes is to duck out of them at the start and hope for better luck in another hour.There's even a Facebook-like section in which students and teachers can interact in a more relaxed fashion. It's a bit technologically clumsy, but it's fun to chat with others (in Spanish) outside of class. After a short while, you'll feel like you're part of a community with friendly teachers and fellow students.I am familiar with a many online language programs and for my money this one is hands down the best.
I am enjoying talking with teachers from Argentina during each course lesson I engage in...There is nothing better than talking with and listening to teachers and students in this program..All of it is practical and will increase your ability to speak, listen, and understand . From basic beginner to the more advanced student, this is by far the best program I have ever done. If you want to improve your skills in speaking and understanding Spanish you must sign up and get started.
I have been taking classes at StartSpanish for almost 2 years now. The teachers are wonderful, very good, patient and nice. They have definitely helped me to improve my Spanish. The price is very good, especially for the private lessons. My only reservation is that for the last 6 months or so the group classes have been more crowded so there is less opportunity to practice. However, included in my package rate are 4 private classes, that alone is more than worth the money Any classes I get to take over and above is gravy! You may also purchase additional well priced private class packages.There are also other written resources available on the website to help including feedback from the class by the teachers. I enjoy the positivity and encouragement of the feedback as well as the notes of the class. Alfonso, the owner is wonderful with any technical issues that arise.
I have been involved in Start Spanish for 6 months now and found it exceptional. The teachers are great and very easy to work with. There are always classes available for whatever level you need. My Spanish has improved greatly since starting this course. My only suggestion for improvement would be the option for the students to see each other. I am more than happy with this site and program.
The Start Spanish teachers are very helpful! Whether in the group classes, privates or writing exercises.In the group classes the content is varied and useful, for the most part the other students are fair and share the amount of time speaking and asking questions. I've been taking classes for over a year now, I really like that I can go back and look at the extensive notes written by the teachers from all of my classes.
The instructors in this course are very friendly and encouraging. Never demeaning. The writing exercises are short but helpful. The most frustrating parts for me are when certain exercises need to be listened to and they are loaded with idiomatic expressions and are said very rapidly and secondly when the definitions of certain words that can be called false amigos are defined differently in established dictionaries(I use three) that somehow seem to very on occasion with the REAL dictionary de Espanol that that is only in Spanish. I am an intermediate.
This is a great program. The only downside is that in the group classes, sometimes there are students who try to dominate the conversation and do not allow equal time to others. In general, the professors do their best to stop this from happening, but not always. It may help if there is some kind of general announcement or slide at the beginning of each class reminding students to be mindful that they do not monopolize the conversation.
My plan expired after having had it for a year. Was never told up front that there was an "expiration" date so I lost over $300.00 in group and private lessons. Was told that this is the same policy as Italk and other similar online programs. I told them that I was not paying for the services of other online similar programs but spending money with their company. I was then told to read the small print...there wasn't any. I contacted my credit card company and they finally resolved the matter.
I scoured the Google for an Online Spanish School, one where I could learn the language pretty much from scratch, as I am a beginner. I tried many other online Schools during my trial period with StartSpanish.com and I can honestly say this, StartSpanish.com has it all. You have access to a very comprehensive and interactive self study course, consisting of 30 units and each unit is split into 3 lessons. It covers topic related vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, videos, exercises and tests and you can retake them as many times as you want. The group classes are great too, every day there is a new topic for levels ranging from beginner to advanced. The teachers are really friendly and professional, and they are always happy to explain something in English if your Spanish is a little rusty. You have access to unlimited group lessons each month and you get detailed feedback by email after class. You also have the option to complete writing task based on the group lessons you attend, which the teachers will in turn grade and provide detailed corrections and feedback. You can also book private lessons and some subscriptions include either 2 or 4 private lessons per month. I strongly recommend this Online Spanish School to anyone who would like to learn Spanish from the comfort of their own home!

The teachers really want their students to learn. There is much more to StartSpanish than hourly classes. I have started using the grammar guides and find those a great means to learn and to reinforce what I have learned. I think StartSpanish this is the best internet source to learn Spanish. Its fun and we get to meet people around the world.
