NEVER HIRE American Knights Moving and Storage as a moving company. I did not intend to, but ended up being their customer because International Van Lines, which I thought I hired, farmed me out to American Knights. They arrived late, forcing me to stay in my condo till almost midnight, which was inconsiderate to the friend I was staying with. I carefully labelled every bookcase with a sign instructing the movers to pack what was inside but NOT to remove the bookcase. Sure enough, it was a good thing I was watching, because the packer/mover started to remover the first bookcase. I also had packed many of my own goods in plastic bins, baskets, and other packable storage containers. This was carefully planned for unpacking into my new place. For unknown reasons, American Knights packers emptied many of these containers and repacked items, making it ridiculously time-consuming to get everything organized again. One bookcase was broken beyond repair, as were numerous glass items. A valuable poster was folded in quarters rather than properly rolled or packed flat. One box was lost altogether. For delivery, in order to meet IVL’s deadline, American Knights subcontracted my job to an unheard of company, Speedy Movers, which consisted of a young man and two much younger (teenage?) helpers. These unpackers could not read instructions written on every box, nor follow oral directions for placement of the boxes. DO NOT HIRE American Knights Moving and Storage.

Worst moving company I've experienced…
Worst moving company I've experienced in my past 12 state to state moves. They broke my washing machine, three dinning room chairs, broke a mirror in our hutch and numerous scratches and dents furniture and appliances. I signed for the $.60 per pound insurance and it cost me dearly, if you move with these slackers make sure you get full coverage on your house hold goods!

This sham of a company doesn’t even deserve the one star I was forced to put on this review. Absolutely terrible experience. We used this company for our move from Texas to Utah this summer. Although we scheduled everything months in advance, the company was a no show on their day to start packing. After four days of excuses my husband finally reached the owner, a packing crew showed up at 5:00 pm. on the fourth day. The company then made us wait 21 days to get our things. I heard one excuse after another. Finally our belongings arrived and boxes were a mess. Finally I filed a damage claim complete with pictures and they got back to me saying it was all denied. Their response, “carrier is not liable for any packing damages to any fragile items unless packed AND unpacked by its employees”. Seriously? Never has anyone unpacked for me in our 8 previous moves and I know things have been damaged. Please think twice before using American Knights. There was a problem at every step and not one person cared or tried to help. Not paying for damages was the final straw and that’s why I’m warning people. Awful experience!

I had to throw out furniture because of them.
I would give no stars if I could. Horrible interstate relocation. I have all the pics, receipts, emails, and text messages to prove it. Excessive breakage & damage of the likes I have never seen. I even had to throw out furniture because of them. Reimbursement of 60 cents per pound could never compensate me for the amount of damage they caused. Careless. Unprofessional. I posted so all my friends know NOT to ever hire them. I also contacted BBB. This company was forced on me by International Van Lines AFTER my deposit was nonrefundable. I blame both companies.
