I had the unfortunate experience of meeting a mark lwellen today . I wanted to explain that the council are wasting our tax payers money on unnecessary spending. The guy didn’t want to listen he was a total bell dne. With cost of everything going up and they still continue to waste money . It’s an absolute disgrace. My advice would be to get rid of half your work force and they do nothing . And concentrate. On spending money on things that need to be sorted like POT holes which damage our cars and people fall unnecessary

Bankruptcy Council
(Bristol city council) Where to start:• if you owe them money they come after you like vultures even through a county court judgement against you. - But when they owe you they say they send you a check out weeks later still nothing you call to find out where it is then you gotta wait another 14 - 21 days for a transfer but yet we the customers can’t put a county court claim against them as there always going bankrupt.• The tenancy agreement is a joke they don’t enforce it in the slightest well not the parts where they spose to enforce.• With costs of living crisis out there and all that there’s a scheme in place around the uk where you can earn only pennies but a start on recycling cans and plastic but yet they do this via a company they partly own so they can make more money out of you and not give anything back.• There new AI system is a complete joke and a waste of time if they did what the public wanted they would understand this but they do not.My advice stay clear of Bristol if you can cos moment you come here Bristol city council will make you the poorest you possibly can be.•

£1.8 million in “petty cash” lost?
£1.8 million in “petty cash” lost? What, it’s just disappeared into thin air has it?Maybe it’s down the back of one of the cushions of that luxury sofa that’s in the offices that are off limits to the general public?£1.8 million isn’t so petty when it could cover school placements, kids lunches, a youth club or something useful other than falling through the cracks of corruption…How the heck do you lose £1.8 million? You must think us Bristolians to be as dumb as a bag of potatoes!Fix it… find it and take accountability you bunch of inept corrupt junk monkeys!

Highway robbery clean air zone
Highway robbery the clean air zone. Third time this year I’ve flown from Bristol airport. First time I payed up front, second time avoided the zone, third time did not know I drove through it which cost £69. I will try my best not to fly from Bristol again. The money I paid on the fine will be lost to Bristol airport 100 times over. Vote with your feet.

Extortion of a pensioner
I am 72 years old and was charged a penatly for going through the clear air zone area in bristol. The penalty was £69. I paid £60 by accident, after the mistake came to light i was advised I would need to pay another £69. Total £129. This is disgusting behaviour especially when the penalty was paid immediately. This is extortion. Especially at a time pensioners are struggling to keep the heating on.

CANT GET A COUNCIL TAX BILL
Been trying to get a council tax bill for a new build property for 4 months. made 5 phone calls, done 4 online moving forms and still no bill. Last guy I spoke to at the council said he would send a temp bill that may get revalued but at least we have a bill for now as a refence no until the valuations office value it. that was 6 weeks ago! Still no bill, and now somebody else i spoke to said they cant see anything about this as on there system the house doesn't even exist yet! Told me to do a moving in form!!! absolute Joke. if this was the other way round they have us in court for not paying and now were trying to pay it cant get a bill! oh and the only complaint you can make is an online form ! cant actually speak directly to a person. She pretty much told me today to be patient or go to a citizens advice station! Bristol City council yet again absolute joke!

I have reported a noisy house FOUR times to BCC., over several months. Nothing at all has happened. Take days on end to reply by email[if they reply at all] and no extension on their phone line for noise reporting.

Bristol council
Bristol council - received a fine for ulez due to the M5 being shut (didn't know bristol had a ulez zone). Received 2 penalty notices on the same day with 2 different dates. Bristol council have been unsupportive with their admin and have a lack of understanding with the situation. Due to being diverted and driving home to the best part of the south coast Weymouth and unaware of a ulez zone i now have fines and a collection notice. I was told to appeal, however still awaiting 7 months later for the letter for witness statement to arrive, to now be told its out of time! Absolute joke of a council and city don't waste your time entering this dreadful city (ITS A DIVE ANYWAY STAY CLEAR)

Flytipping Is A Menace
Flytipping is destroying the surrounding countryside. A different strategy is desperately needed. Bristol Council needs to up its game.

Very poor service
Very poor service, wait on hold for ages every single time, then they don't recognise account number being read directly from their own letter! Eventually informed they won't speak to me as they have lost the letter of authority which was used and fine all last year and now they need me to submit a further letter before they can sort out my father's weird council tax bill they have just sent him for 4 days - £22.47, even though he pays by dd with an amount set up by the council?! It does not fill you with confidence when they lose correspondence and any record of it which you know that they have had, as they have used it before!

We visited Bristol City for a day
We visited Bristol City for a day, we knew we would be driving through a clean air zone. When we returned home we phoned our payment of £9.00. This was paid by a bank card payment. No receipt or reference number was given. The payment went out of the bank as normal. We were then informed the payment had not been acknowledged and we would get a penalty fine , apparently a bank statement showing the payment had gone to them was not proof of payment Bristol city would not accept this proof but we had no receipt. We had to appeal so filled in an on line form. The appeal was declined and we had a demand for £120 and reduced to £60 if we paid with 14 days of the demand date. The £9 we paid seems to have gone into oblivion. We can prove it has gone from the bank account. We have been pressured in fact we would say bullied into paying the penalty. We have now sent a cheque for £60. With a stamped addressed envelope hoping for a receipt. Our day in Bristol City cost us £69 just to drive in so, I would be very cautious if anyone is visiting this place. You may have an unexpected fine. Perhaps choose another place to shop Bristol City not a place we would want to visit ever again

Bristol City Council Refuses to Address Safety Issue on Their Land
Bristol City Council Refuses to Address Safety Issue on Their Land.I’m extremely frustrated with Bristol City Council’s handling of a safety issue on their land. Behind our house, there’s an old garage site that’s no longer in use. It’s completely overgrown with brambles and vegetation, making it impossible for us to access our property as stated in our deeds. We’ve already contacted the Council and sent two letters of complaint, but nothing has been done.In addition to this, there’s an electricity substation on the same land, and it too is completely surrounded by brambles. The other day, I noticed a burning smell near the substation and called the Council to report it. However, they told me I needed to contact the National Grid. I explained that the issue is on Council-owned land and that it’s their responsibility to clear the area for safety reasons. Despite this, the Council representative was rude, unhelpful, and even threatened me by saying that because I was now aware of the situation, it was my responsibility to deal with it.It’s incredibly frustrating that the Council refuses to take responsibility for safety concerns on their own property.

Like many others I've been "caught"
Like many others I've been "caught" out by the scam clean air zone. I was treated by my daughter to a father's day night out in Bristol. She saved her money to pay. She is 16. I am disabled and unable to work. We paid the congestion zone payment but we're told by the hotel we didn't have to on the way out as there's a different way out of the car park. I could not find the alternative exit and ended up after following the exit signs on the exit to the M32. I couldn't reverse as it would have been dangerous. There were no clear signs from the level we were on to get out. I had every Intention of paying because my ex partner was caught twice without paying in or out and on appeal received no fine. I paid to get in and because I couldn't find the alternative emailed the council straight away to appeal as I could not find the alternative route. They have disallowed my appeal and want to charge me £60 plus the £9 I should have paid and if not it will be £120. The car park is on the edge of the zone and I was in Bristol less than 24 hours. What on earth is going on with their sick minds? I am appealing this because how can they let someone with no good reason off twice in and out but fine me when I am not only disabled but had a genuine reason why I ended up in the zone! So today 16/9/24 I've lost my appeal against this change and have to pay £129 for basically driving less than 2 miles in under 24 hours and I am fully disabled individual. Bristol won't be seeing me again and I advise anyone else to stay away the the place!
