Don't do it
OK, so they offered 7600 online, took the car in, offer dropped to 1900. After some back a forth went to eventually 5K. Then got paid, 4801. They deducted an inspection fee.I'll never sell to them again.

All this reviews are correct I mean 1 star reviews , they offered me $7200 for my van and after inspection they offered $2900 my van is like brand new it’s cargo van ? They are liers you will be wasting your time , if you wanna give car to this liers free then this is dealer for you otherwise stay away
If I could give them zero stars I would. They really practice a bait and switch. They make an offer and then have u drop it off and after they do a condition report reduce their offer after the car is dropped off at the intake facility they use and then charge a dealer charge of $199 of your settlement without telling you. Run ! Don’t do business with this shady company ! They will hang up the phone on you ! They should be ashamed of themselves !
I dont like the shady buying tactic. Offer a price. Have the car taken with the keys. Have an inspection done designed simply to create a high repair bill, so you can low ball the owner. If the owner doesn't agree, there is a $500 charge to get the car back. The whole thing was shady AF.
Zero Star - Classic Bait and SwitchI was quoted $14,400 for my car by both Carvana and CarMax. CarBuyerUSA sweetened the deal with $16,200—almost $2K more—and I thought, why not? Big mistake. They insisted on me dropping it off at their Manheim, NJ auction site (red flag #1). I drove there, handed over the keys, and waited a day for their "inspection."Boom—suddenly it's "only worth $9,800" after they nitpicked a bunch of issues I already disclosed upfront. $6K less? No way. I said return it, but getting my own car back turned into a nightmare. The place is a massive labyrinth of enclosures and parking lots—you're walking forever just to find it. And their reimbursement? A measly $50 max for Uber. It covered only partial fare and I shelled out way more for the hassle and Ubering home.Wasted 3 full hours, plus the drive back to Carvana where—surprise—they honored the original $14,400 quote without drama. CarBuyerUSA is straight-up scammers: they lowball you hard once you're hooked, all sweet talk until the keys are in their hands. BS ratings, fake issues—avoid like the plague! Go with Carvana or CarMax or anyone else honest. AVOID them at all costs!
This company employs bait-and-switch tactics. Initially, I received an instant cash offer of 50k which was $1k higher than my other offer. I uploaded all the required photos of my car, along with my driver's license and title, and delivered the vehicle to the local Manheim location for inspection. After the inspection, they reduced the offer to 33k from the original offer amount. Additionally, they posted my car on OVE auction site for sale $55k with know problems listed from the inspection report for 3 days. Once I notify them why my car was on the auction site and I wasn’t paid yet, no response. I called and told them to give me a release form so I can pickup my car, that took another 2 days to get. I pickup my car and took it to Carvana I received 49k, 1k less for my car. I also took my car to my shop for an inspection and they found no issues with my car. I wish I can give them 0 stars, don't use them.
They stole my car!!! I took it to be appraised after they told me it was theirs now they had possession of it and it was gated and I couldn’t get to it!! So besides the threats they lied about the value of in perfect condition 2010 650 V8 and only 70,000 miles no accidents etc. So you tell me is $701 a good price besides not letting me have my car back when I wanted it back in the beginning!!!! Which part is the worse?? The thing is terrible and criminal and I know I’m not the only one who has been through this with them!! Can you say class action suit!!’
Other online users had said that this company offers much higher prices than others, but then cites several issues with your car upon inspection and reduces the offer significantly. My experience was exactly the same. They initially offered me a price $3000 higher than other car buying services, but then during the inspection, cited issues such as normal wear and tear one should expect from a used car, and then lowered their offer by 33%, much lower than other offers I received.
This company is bad. They contact you, they tell you what they will offer you. You agreed to their offer and you never hear back from them. They're a joke. Move on, go somewhere else. They do nothing but lie, very bad company.
Some guy will text you. Also they DO NOT come to you. That is BS.. They want to go to some auction house 45 miles away..
Liars and scammers they quote a price then lower it by hundreds of dollars when you take it to them, after promising the quote wouldn't change, then when you tell them you want your vehicle back you have to wait till they are good and ready to give it to you do kit recommend avoid at all cost
This company agreed to pay me $630 — which was already a ridiculously low offer — but then sent a written quote for $550, with a hidden $125 fee that would’ve brought the total to just $425. When I pointed that out, the agent kept insisting it was $450, ignoring both the math and their own documents. They also gave me conflicting instructions to delay the pickup and avoided all responsibility. When I asked fair questions, they responded with attitude, rudeness, and blame-shifting. This was not just bad service — it was calculated and unethical. Avoid at all costs.
I was offered a good price for my car. I drove at 80 miles to their facility and waited a day for them to inspect it. They called me back with a counter offer of less than a quarter of the original offer. Which was about 3000 under value. When I told them I would just go pick my car up that I would not sell it for that. It was almost impossible to get the voucher to go pick it up. I had to finally call the main office to get any satisfaction. I do not recommend at all! Run!
Took my car to their facility for inspection. Was given offered a lot less then what I originally was offered. Trying to contact them is very hard no one answers the phone and they take their time to call back. Finally settled on a price a third of what they offered with the promise that I would be paid right away. Did not want to sign the title and they had possession of the vehicle without getting paid. I was assured that when they received the title they would deposit the money in my account since we were under contract. How they have such a good rating on BBB. Blah blah blah. Horrible experience so far.
I sure wish there was a rating of “0” stars ! This was the worst experience ever with a vehicle transaction! I even had a locked in offer and they still lowballed me and they have you do endless requests then ghost you when you aren’t happy! Now I need to go all the way across town and pick the car back up! There’s a possibility I’ll have to pay for the storage and inspection from the auction company I dropped it off at upon their request. I repeat do not use this company DO NOT! Sell on your own via marketplace or Craigslist! Just be very open and honest and print off a bill of sale from your state!!
After requesting endless information, they came back with an offer so low I had to laugh. Even dealers offer more. This was a waste of time. I should've stopped sooner, but the rep was very accommodating, it seemed. I pushed back on things like signing the title over to them if we made a deal, and then they would send me a check. I don't believe they would have pulled anything, but it was an odd request.
Have my title held hostage. Will not call back or respond. What a joke of a company!!!!!I will call an attorney!
The website was easy to navigate and I did get an instant offer. The next day they called to tell me that they are no longer going offering that and dropped it down about $1200. I do not recommend.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH CARBUYERSUSA!!!Like many reviews stated, the Company baits-and-switches with prices then refuses to negotiate even on THEIR mistake. They "mistakenly" quoted us $13,167 (a little above $2000) after I told them the car had sludge in the engine. After I came back saying we would accept that price they told us they made a mistake and could only offer us $3000.The car was being held at a dealership with the engine issues. They took so long to respond about this misquote that the dealership had started charging us $50/day. I asked them to pay the $600 in fees, and they took days to respond saying "no." After telling them that was ridiculous since this happened due to THEIR mistake, they told me they could pay the fees and the car was getting picked up. After a week of 0 communication I called back and they had never picked up the car and they lowered the quote to $2000. (If you are keeping track that is now $11,000 under initial quote). After some angry discussions they agreed to give us $2000 and they would pay the fees.Half a week later I got a call stating the vehicle was inspected, they offered us $2000 and are taking the $900 in fees out and only giving us $1,100. We managed to get them to give us the full $2000 eventually but this process took nearly a month and the company is flippant with their estimates to get you locked in then lower their quotes.DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH CARBUYERSUSA!!!
I received an online offer of about $18,500 from Car Buyer USA for my vehicle. After visiting a couple of car dealers and getting cash offers from various sites like CarMax and Cars.com, Car Buyer USA’s offer was the highest I received. I discussed this offer over the phone with a Car Buyer USA customer service rep, and after I described the minor issues with the car (small scratches, paint chips, and a crack in the windshield) and provided pictures of the car, he assured me that I would receive an offer very close to $18,500 after their inspection. For the inspection, I had to drop off the car at an auto auction lot, which was somewhat disconcerting, and remove its license plates. This means I had to pay for an Uber back to my house. One day later, Car Buyer USA provided me with a report listing about $500 worth of repairable damage to the car. They used this report to justify dropping their offer by about $1,200 to $17,300. This didn’t make any sense to me. They offered to increase their offer to $17,500, but this still put it below the next highest offer I received. As a result, I had to decline Car Buyer USA’s offer and pay for another Uber back to the auto auction lot to pick up my car. Car Buyer USA stated that they would reimburse me for the first Uber trip, but I’m not sure that they actually will.Overall, I wasted about 2.5 hours of my time and about $50 on Uber rides, because Car Buyer USA misled me with their initial offer. If they had initially given me something closer to their final offer, I could have avoided all of this. If you receive an online offer from Car Buyer USA, just be aware that the number may be inflated to lure you in.I can’t say that my experience was entirely negative. Car Buyer USA’s final offer was higher than the vast majority of other offers I received, and their communication was good overall. But their scheme of artificially inflating their initial offer to lure me in just left a bad taste in my mouth, so I can’t recommend them.
