This review is based on just on driver.. I use Central a lot and the drivers are great they know me and call me by my first name and the know I am ill and go out of there way to help me. Because I have lung problems. But the driver I had today was a bad egg. Rude & Arrogant. And would do nothing to help... "No Tip for him"

If you are travelling alone during the Festive Season, I strongly advise you to steer clear of Central Cars. Once a trusted and reliable cab company, they have sadly become anything but dependable. My recent experience was nothing short of appalling and left me questioning both my safety and their integrity.Failure to Deliver Basic ServiceI pre-booked my taxi in good faith, only to be left standing outside in the dark and freezing cold when it failed to arrive. Not only was there no advance warning or notification that my taxi was running late, but when I called to enquire, I was fobbed off with a vague assurance it would be there in another ten minutes. That cab never materialised. I was promised a replacement, which eventually arrived, but not before I'd received a phone call from a driver who claimed he could not find me – despite the fact I was waiting outside, less than 300 yards from Central Cars’ office on the high street.Distressing and Abusive CommunicationTo add insult to injury, after I finally arrived at my destination, I received a deeply unpleasant and abusive phone call from another cab driver claiming he was there to collect me. The sheer disorganisation and lack of basic communication were astonishing.The Return Journey: More DisappointmentSadly, the return journey was equally shambolic. I waited 45 minutes for a taxi which had been promised to arrive in just 14 minutes. The call operator offered a series of conflicting excuses – first claiming car trouble, then after three consecutive cancellations on the app, finally admitting they were simply waiting for the midnight rates to kick in. Forty-five minutes, alone, in freezing temperatures. Their disregard for passenger safety and comfort is glaring.With the Festive Season barely begun, Central Cars have already demonstrated a shocking lack of customer care and a complete indifference to passenger safety. Do not risk being left alone and stranded in the cold. There are better, safer, and more reliable options available. Avoid Central Cars at all costs.

Taxi driver over charged me, it was £10.80 and he charged me £11. Without asking. You are hard up for 20p you have to steal from people. Disgusting. I would have given it to him if he’d asked

We was a wedding party from Sheffield so I decided to book a 8 seater minibus from hotel to take us to the wedding venue , can't fault this company both buses on time and both drivers very helpful , got call when they arrived both times will definitely use central taxis again when we come to Nottingham again ...

Decent dispatchers, but the drivers drag the whole service down.
I would avoid if I could. The dispatchers do their best and genuinely try to help.However, on different occasions, the drivers have really caused us problems—going to the wrong place, taking unnecessarily long routes, or refusing to take us for some made-up reason, like the dispatcher spelling our name slightly wrong.Every single one of them is extremely rude and seems to have a pre-conceived opinion of you if you're enjoying a drink.

Cancelled taxi before it was due to arrive
I booked a taxi from the First Direct Arena, Leeds to my hotel 3 days in advance because I am not local and therefore do not know the area. I booked the taxi for 11pm as I knew the gig I‘d attended would finish before then. I received an email at 10:30pm telling me the taxi had been cancelled. There was no explanation and I was told I’d have to make “alternative travel arrangements”. I am a lone female in a city I’m unfamiliar with and because my taxi was cancelled, I had to walk the 25 minutes back to my hotel late at night. The firm also knew I was a lone traveller who didn’t live locally as when I booked the taxi online, I had to give my home postcode! Avoid this company at all costs. They now owe me £12!

Booked a taxi and after waiting for 30 mins. App gives me the licence plate. See the cab with the same plate pull up and immediately drives off. Follow it down the cowgate and it does it again. Phone central and they claim I'd canceled it (despite the fact I'd just waiting 30 mins for it who is canceling a taxi as soon as it shows up). Away and don't talk nonsense. Avoid

Booked a taxi in advance for a 15 minute journey in Central Edinburgh 8 hours in advance. I allowed 40 minutes because I knew the weather would be wet and there could be some delay. Phoned 5 minutes after it should have arrived. Automated message said taxi would be arriving shortly. Phoned again 5 minutes later and waited to speak to an operator who said no taxi allocated as they were very busy and no taxi in my area. No idea when one would be available. Very sorry - should she cancel? Concerts don't wait for latecomers so had no option but to take my car and paid over £30 to park in City Centre. What is the point in taking prebookings if you can't guarantee a cab. I will not be using that company again.

I'd give them zero if I could.Taxi driver (car 36, id 4210) did an emergency stop and yelled at my 74 year old mother to "get the f*@k out of my taxi!" This was after she pointed out he was going the wrong way.She arrived at mine visibly upset and shaking and crying (she has a heart condition and needs a stick to walk with).After calming down to the point I could speak coherently, I rang and was put throught to Craig (manager and owner apparently). Took note of my concerns and said to ring him Monday for an update after he'd spoken to the driver at fault.Craig has dodged all my calls since, he's either just gone on a break or call back in an hour. Managed to get put through once and was immediately cut off.Shoddy and unprofessional outfit from the ground up. I hate to think how they conduct themselves if that's how they treat elderly customers.

Always trusted reliable service, I have used them for years both for my professional and personal life, with all my work colleges never have had an issue and driver's are so reliable and helpful, Most recently my nephew dropped his phone, driver was a G in helping us get it back to him, big shout out and thanks to Kenny much appreciated as phone was full of precious memory's that were irreplaceable

BUNCH OF COW BOYS FOR A TAXI FIRM
IF I COULD GIVE -0 I WOULD. Absolutely the worst taxi firm EVERCentral for me. Absolute RUBBISH, they never get things right and their Customer Services is non existent. Your cab drivers do not know their way around Nottingham they only want to bump up fares to the customer. Because how can a fare that normally cost btw £8-£9 end up costing £12 and would have been £15 by the time the passenger reached their destination. But made the decision to get out the taxi and walk the rest of the journey because the driver claimed he knew where he was going. But he clearly had no knowledge of Nottingham routes at all I am even MORE APPAULED by the fact that the passenger who has autistic challenges was spoken to rudely and as if they did not know their way around. I requested a Manager and was told someone would contact me. 3 days later and I've heard nothing at all which is typical of Central.So central take Note. I WILL NEVER BOOK ONE OF YOUR TAXIS EVER AGAIN. I'D RATHER GIVE MY MONEY TO UBER because as a company. You still haven't got your act together. Which is why I cannot and will not rate you any more than 1* overall. I wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt. But your company and staff are clearly not educated enough you are all only about the money and not the customer. DISGUSTING TAXI COMPANY and TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL. Thank you for ruining our day on Sunday and giving us the most unforgettable experience. I can't wait to see this taxi company be shut down. It's not the first time Central have messed up jobs for me BIG TIME.
