No Supervision

I’ve been disappointed with the overall experience at this location. The facility is not well-maintained—parking lot and locker rooms are often dirty, which reflects a lack of care. This morning was especially frustrating. The staff member who opened the gym was rude and dismissive toward members. Her comment, “Count this as a blessing that we opened at this time,” was completely unprofessional. It seems she doesn’t understand that members are paying customers and deserve respect. There also appears to be no supervision or accountability for staff behavior, which is concerning.I hope management takes these issues seriously and improves cleanliness, customer service, and staff oversight.

Glossy image conceals problems

Glossy image conceals problems. Music too loud on aerobics deck. Sometimes you hear TWO different tunes from different parts of the very large floor. They don't enforce rules, like no phone use in locker rooms or sauna (are they taking photos?), or the requirement to shower before swimming. Mgmt is unresponsive to suggestions or complaints. Sorry I joined.

ONELIFE FITNESS STERLING VA

ONELIFE FITNESS STERLING VA Extremely disturbing to report that this gym has no HOT WATER in the locker room and the issue has existed for over a year but the management has failed to fix the issue even though they are clearly aware of it. It creates an extremely unhealthy environment as members are using the hot tub and pool without showering. EXTREMELY POOR MAINTENANCE

Best gym in Atlanta Metro

I really like this gym! Very friendly and they always greet me coming in and when I leave! More often than not. I’ve had training, my trainer was Kam, he is THE BEST! Very concerned about your workout and they will help you with anything! Once my daughter got sick, she had overworked herself and was nauseous. She regurgitated and they were right there with towels to help. Even on lookers reached in to help and give her water. They are real and I appreciate this staff

APEX workouts in Old Town, Alexandria

OneLife has a fitness center in Old Town, Alexandria Virginia, and I've attended for the past three years. My membership lets me visit other OneLife gyms, and I train (with Trainer Eliot Hyche) at the gym in Crystal Park. I participate in classes at the Old Town gym, and for the past three years I've taken the APEX course taught by Jennifer Foster. The course is intense, flexible, and really, really helpful. I started taking Jen's course because it fit well within my goals: I wanted to improve my balance and resilience, and I wanted to gain upper body strength. This course met each of these objectives. Over the course of 60 minutes, we dive into five circuits, with four exercises in each circuit. Jen does a great job of keeping the music active, and personally does the work with us, so we know exactly what our workout should look like.I trained with the Army Airborne at Ft. Benning in 1974 and found Jen's circuits to be way up to par, equivalent to what when on during basic training and jump school.More importantly, however, is the knowledge Jen brings to the class. Due to degenerative disc disease and an untreated compression fracture of my T4-T5, I steer clear of the impact accompanying burpees and mountain climbers. Jen teaches work-arounds, so that when the rest of the class is jumping and kicking, I can be elevating and rowing. This training is important to me: I've completed five polar expeditions (three in the Artic Ocean and two in Antartica). Each of these involves boarding Zodiac pontoons, where there will be ten passengers and a crew member operating the outboard engine. If we were to be swamped (which does, in fact happen, and happened three years ago in the Antarctic), each of us would need to have sufficient upper body strength, resilience, and balance, to get ourselves out of the frigid water and back on board. I go to Jen's class because it offers that kind of training. Great location, great facilities, and an outstanding instructor. My only comment would be to OneLife's management: recently, the local management allowed the placement of a class that runs from 11 to 11:55, when Jen's class starts at noon, on Tuesdays. Please give some thought to scaling back the Tai Chi class - please end that class by 11:45 a.m., to allow Jen's attendees to warm up without having to deal with the Tai Chi class.

Out of Ordered ceiling fans

The studio where the classes are held is very hot. Today, the ceiling fans were out of order. It was very challenging for us to participate in class. This has happened several times before.

You’ll Pay to Leave – Not Just to Join

Onelife Fitness operates like a billing machine, not a gym. After months of barely using the location (1–2 visits/month), I decided to cancel. Instead of honoring my decision, I was told I must either pay a fee or provide documentation to justify why I no longer want their service. That is outrageous. No one should have to fight to exit a service they no longer need. Equipment is outdated, conditions are worsening, and service is cold and robotic. I’ve filed complaints with the FTC and Attorney General. This is a predatory membership model. Do not sign up.
