Easy simple quick process
After such a terrible experience whilst on holiday and having never had to use insurance we were incredibly nervous about how hard it would be to navigate putting a claim in...we can't believe how helpful amd quick Taurus have been in approving out claim we are so greatful for it to of been so straightforward and easy!

Dont buy for backpacker Gadget Insurance
My Daughter's iPhone 12 was stolen in Rio. She submitted a claim and they have asked for:-- Photo of box- Please provide a photo of the device box confirming both IMEI number and / or serial number. DOES ANYONE KEEP THESE? I DONT THINK IT IS REASONABLE TO EXPECT SOMEONE WHO IS BACKPACKING TO HAVE TAKEN THE BOX WITH THEM AND UNTIL THIS REQUEST, I HAVE NOT HEARD OF PEOPLE TAKING A PHOTO OF THE BOX WHEN THEY GET A NEW PHONE (BUT THIS MAY CHANGE NOW).-proof of usage: This document must show the device’s IMEI number and the date it was last used. It is not the same as your monthly bill or an itemised bill. Only your network provider can issue valid proof of usage, so we kindly ask that you contact them directly to obtain this document. We understand that you used an eSIM while on holiday. I SERIOUSLY DOUBT ANY ESIM PROVIDER WILL SHARE THIS, BUT TIME WILL TELL-proof of blacklisting: Please contact your network provider and request that they blacklist the IMEI number of the device. OK, SHE WILL HAVE TO SEND AN EMAIL ASKING THEM TO BLACK LIST THE IMEI.I UNDERSTAND THAT THEY WANT TO MAKE SURE THEY ONLY PAY VALID CLAIMS, BUT THEY ARE MAKING IT REALLY HARD FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS JUST HAD A PHONE STOLEN TO MAKE A VALID CLAIM.

Terrible service
I had insurance with Taurus for my MacBook Pro. I lost it on a train while it was in my bag, so I made a claim and sent them everything they asked for.Even after that, they keep asking me again and again for residency documents. I’ve already given them valid legal documents and explained clearly why I can’t provide a share code, but they’re just not listening.What makes this worse is that I also have insurance with Taurus for my iPhone. I claimed for theft before and they approved it without any problem. Now suddenly, with the MacBook, which is much more expensive, they’re not approving it.Because of this, I’m now left without my MacBook, which cost me £1900. It honestly feels like they’re delaying or avoiding the claim because of the price.Overall, the service has been really disappointing and stressful.

Edit 5th Feb 2026 - the customer relations team has been nothing but unhelpful. Also you are signing your reply to this off with a completely different company so you’re all just a bunch of LIARS & scammers. If I could leave zero stars, I would.I purchased travel/gadget insurance specifically to protect myself in the event of loss; only to be told that my claim was rejected because the item was “left unattended.” By that logic, what exactly is the point of this insurance? Loss is loss, and this was a genuine claim.I have never made an insurance claim in my life because I’ve never needed to. The one time I do, I’m met with weeks of back-and-forth, over 40 intrusive questions, and an attitude that assumes guilt rather than offering support. The process felt deliberately exhausting, as though the aim was to make me give up.I understand fraudulent claims exist, but treating legitimate customers like liars is unacceptable. The service throughout was unhelpful, dismissive, and at times outright rude.I would strongly advise against using this company. They are more than happy to take your money, but when you actually need help, they look for loopholes to avoid paying out. Absolutely shocking experience.Name of person I dealt with Abigail (Head of Customer Relations) & others but they do not sign off with their names otherwise they would get named too.

I won’t lie after submitting claim then coming to here to read reviews my expectations were not great. After first initial submission I received a follow up email requesting flight details for inbound/ outbound, picture of the box etc so I thought here we go but information what I could provide was sent and claim was accepted and payment received. This process was all completed within 2 weeks, as long as you provide sufficient detail and respond quickly, you should be all good

Common sense does not prevail
Submitted a claim for a damaged phone in summer/autumn last year after having been insured for years. Claim is stuck because they want proof that the phone is mine by way of a signed letter from the gifter which I can’t provide after 5 years, although I did supply screenshots of messages sent at the time. It’s quite clearly my phone, I have had it insured for years with the IMEI number supplied at policy inception. I’ve explained to them that I wasn’t able to get in touch with the gifter and just got an impersonal reply back once again asking for a letter. It’s common sense… Just seems like a way to not pay out, very disappointing after giving them money for so long - had to buy a new phone myself!

My phone was damaged on holiday by the sea when my bag was washed away by a freak wave. I provided Taurus with proof of holiday. Proof of ownership and when purchased the phone but because I could not return the damaged phone they refused to pay out. I explained this happened in India I went to a local shop but they were unable to repair as the salt water had done too much damage so they took the SIM card out and I left the phone as it was in repairable. It is appalling even with all this information they refused to pay out. I definitely will not insure with them again and advise others not to.

I also would give zero stars. Seeing all these reviews has given me some comfort that this isn't just us its happened to. Absolutely appalling company. My 80 year old mother has been trying to make a claim on the gadget insurance ( only for £550) and this has been going on since September with her trying to send them all the documents they require. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY or the company we thought we were buying this insurance through which is STAYSURE

Kind Helpful People, Clear Instructions, No Quibbling
Always someone to help on the end of the phone. The claim process was clear and while I had to get a lot of ducks in a row to make sure I had all of the paperwork needed to be shown (which is understandably-but annoyingly-extensive). The claim was approved in good time and a very reasonable settlement agreed. I would definitely recommend them, and will keep my records ordered more in future, just in case.

Kept on filling the form in line to no avail. Always coming back with an error. Finally got to the bottom of it after 6 phone calls A bit abusive. But find people OK when I spoke to them

MY advice - shop around, elsewhere preferably!
I wish I read the reviews before I took out this insurance !! They are literally trying to pay as little as possible for a repair, so many "clauses" they have hidden away in the contract. They are quick enough to take payment , but are very reluctant to help when needed. I expect this claim to continuing dragging out for as long as they can manage and for them to pay as little as they can get away with.
