I have used their services for many years and find the whole process very easy to use. They keep you informed every step of the process and payment arrives promptly in my bank account. You won’t become a millionaire on the prices you receive but as I only read a book once I like to think that someone else gets to enjoy reading too rather than me having to dust the books in a bookcase.
Quick delivery
Very straight forward. Easy to use site.
great way to get some money in if you;re struggling. easy app use and they are among the highest payers for second hand books. usually paid and processed within 3 weeks and they give you choice of parcel company although inpost is my regular choice.
I can't access my account. I used my password, it didn't work. Tried to reset it twice and no link set. I have money owed to me and it hasn't arrived. Apparently I have been paid but not true.
Easy sale collection service good
EASY TO USE WEBSITE AND AN EXCELLENT WAY TO TRADE IN BOOKS WHICH STILL HAVE A VALUE.
Love this app. It makes good of books that are dormant laying around. Make some extra money - other people get books for a good price. A very sustainable and efficient wonderful service.
I just recently bought up a book from world of books and I was amazed. The kind of books they were interesting. Their delivery was also safe and I found the site amazing. I suggest you to try it once
Easy and fast. Not a lot per book but it adds up, very useful for clean outs.
I have made two trades with world of books and the prcie they offer is not what gets paid. I have tried the bot customer service, useless and then a real agent who said 2 books were rejected, this was a volume of 7 books... no where on the account does this show and it says all ten books have been paid, but over £4.00 short, small amounts but it seems they just take randon ampunts of without giving you a reason, will be interesting to see if they sell my books... I won't use them again I will sell them myself, I feel very short changed. Oh maybe someone can't add up?
SCAM! EVERY SINGLE TIME I try to do a trade, I am unable to add more than 4 items. I was curious about this, so cleared the basket and tried to add one of the items on a new trade. Suddenly, a few seconds later, the item worked, but ones that had previously worked no longer did. On one occasion today, I was able to get to 11 items and pressed 'complete trade'... suddenly, it said 'your trade is not ready' and removed the majority, leaving me with 4 once again and lowering the price from 50p each to 10p each! Tried multiple times to speak to someone but it's IMPOSSIBLE on the website due to the 'live' chat being a useless AI robot! Every bad review I've seen on here has had the same standard copy and paste reply, so I'm assuming that's what I'll also get! I did try and contact the email address listed in those repetitive replies, and it was just as useless and pointless as the robot on the website! They don't care and they give you some pathetic excuse about why items aren't accepted... honestly the company should be investigated by trading standards!AVOID THIS WEBSITE! IT'S A SCAM!!!!!!!!
Worst experience of my life. Seems like more of a scam than anything. The book I sent in was in pristine condition, no markings, cover intact with no blemishes outside or in. Yet, the book was “rejected” for being in poor shape. No remuneration nor the return of the book. Sellers beware!
Easy to use and organise collection. Payment took a while and I had to chase for it. They said they'd had a large influx so was a delay in working through.
I’m extremely disappointed with my recent experience. I sent in 22 books for trade, having carefully checked them against the company’s stated quality guidelines beforehand. Out of those 22 books, only 6 were approved. What’s most frustrating is that 3 of the rejected books were literally brand new. They were recently received as gifts, read once, and were in excellent condition. These were also among the higher-value titles in my trade. I simply do not accept the explanation that the “pages were not clean,” as they were in near-perfect condition when sent. After this happened, I looked at other reviews and noticed a pattern — particularly where higher-value books are rejected for allegedly not meeting quality standards. I also saw multiple customers mention receiving very similar responses from customer service (specifically from Phoebe), stating that items “do not meet our quality standards,” without providing any meaningful clarification. If I had known that more than half of my books would be rejected — especially those in excellent condition — I would have donated them to a charity shop or given them to friends and family instead of risking them being recycled.Based on this experience, I would not recommend using this company
GoodVery amazing
I received less than half the value of my original trade as they claimed three items were not received although I definitely sent them. I feel as if I have been ripped off and I will not be using them again.
BEWARE! SCAM! I was charged 3 times for the same order. There is NO WAY to 'speak' with a human. I want to cancel the order, but not sure if I'll get ALL of my money back.
I contacted customer service after two of my items were rejected.I would usually argue, however these two were the “high”offers in my lot; a hb copy of, The Women (purchased in January and read one time) and 500 SAT Vocabulary Review cards unmarked, clean in a box with very little indication of use. After two inquiries,Phoebe in customer service, replied re-stating that my items were in bad condition.Just not true.Their customer reviews suggest that this deception is not uncommon. One reviewer had the exact issue with her two highest offers.I am extremely disappointed in World of Books.I am waiting on an order from them.I ordered multiple of the same for book club members before this experience. We will definitely follow up with another review upon receipt.
